How are interviews conducted?
Your recruiter is knowledgeable on the specific requirements and the length of time necessary to obtain a license in the state you have chosen to take an assignment. In some states the procedure is lengthy, so advanced planning is needed. Please refer to the resource selection on our menu for more information about state licensure and other interesting links valuable to travelers.To become a Cirrus traveler, we require a degree from an accredited program (depending on your area of expertise) in the United States or Canada. We also require a minimum of one year of clinical experience in your specialty area.

What fees am I required to pay?
There are no fees that you will incur. The only fees possible are elective insurance options that you may choose to accept beyond the comprehensive, paid insurance benefits that Cirrus Medical Staffing provides to all travelers.No. We now use a “selective admission” process. All students who have completed the prerequisites and Phase I requirements will be placed in the applicant pool for the following year’s seats. Should there be more students who meet the March 1st or December 1st deadline qualifications, then applicants will be given seats based on highest earned points described in Phase II of the admission process.

How do I become a traveler for Cirrus Medical Staffing?
To be considered for any of our openings, you will need to submit an application or resume, a skill checklist and at least two references. Once you??ve agreed to accept a position, we will then verify your credentials and send you necessary paperwork regarding required documentation prior to starting an assignment. Drug tests and criminal background investigations are performed as well (at no cost to you).The average age of a Lansing Community College nursing student is currently 28.8 years. Students range from 19 to 54 years of age. Most students are married or divorced and have children at various stages of development.

Is housing available?
The Student Life Office often posts offerings but Lansing Community College has no formal housing assistance available.Many of our students work part-time. We definitely do not recommend more than 20 hours a week. If you must work, you will needPrior to completing your assignment, you and the facility may agree that you should stay for another term, or perhaps you??ll be ready for another assignment in another exciting location. Optionally, you may choose to return home, perhaps to travel again at a later date. Regardless of your choice, your recruiter will inform you of all options before you make a decision.

All pre-requisites, including general education and NURS 200, must be completed before starting the Accelerated program. The nursing courses and subject areas are covered in 6 weeks instead of 8. The program is 14 consecutive months. Some of the coursework is online, with lab on campus and clinical hours in the Lansing and surrounding areas.

How do I enroll as an LPN articulation student?
Students who need additional advising should contact Counseling and Advising, in the Gannon Building-Suite 204, or call for additional information. Your prior course work will be evaluated and a plan of study will be developed for you.It’s always best to make preparations for an assignment as soon as possible. Your Cirrus recruiter will take you through the steps of preparation including providing valuable information regarding your destination.
