The Importance of Having a Reliable Web Hosting

by Ricardo d Argence

Reliable web hosts aren’t as easy to find as you might imagine. There is considerable competition out there with an increasing amount of web hosts, and resellers who all claim to give the consumer upwards of 99% uptime. For any website, reliable web hosting is incredibly important. It can mean the difference between a frequently returning visitor and one who doesn’t bother at all.

The ultra-clever search engines today will impact a sites rating, a low rating will send customers looking for good service elsewhere.

What’s the significance of having a web host that is dependable? One reason that comes to mind immediately is your own inner serenity. Unreliable service makes it extremely difficult to built websites, upload content, or make changes. Discriminating consumers expect flawless service and won’t settle for anything less. Entire businesses have been lost due to the same thing, and it is the kind of problem which must be addressed immediately once you become aware that you have it.

When does it become necessary to have one? It’s very important if you want people to view your website. The new methods used by search engines today mean that reports are generated every time a URL is not accessible, and this can result in a drop in search engine rankings after a certain period of time.

It is important that you use an honorable webhost for your online business. Some web hosts in todays market can manage to give your site 99% uptime, which is what you need to have.

Say your webhost was current providing you with 20% downtime, this could in effect mean you are losing up to 20% of potential customers, who cannot view your site due to this downtime. This is affecting your earning ability, thus losing you potential revenue. Anyone you employ to help your business, in this case the webhost should not help you lose money!

Is there a way I can check to see if my webhost is the best one for my needs? You don’t, not at first. There are many methods that can be used to find out their reliability. The free tools on the internet that are used to monitor up and downtime are becomming more popular in the search for the top search engine.

More and more people are realizing the importance of server uptime, and these tools can become an invaluable resource if your webhost isn’t communicating too well with you. If you are with a decent webhost then the likelihood is, you’ll either receive an email advising you of planned downtime, or there will be a portal on the webhosts website advising of any problems. Webhosts who hide this sort of information do so for a reason, and that is because they’re frightened you’ll go elsewhere.

Why I Work How I Want And When I want.

by Mr Webbyfied

I was really in deep thought today.

“What motivated me to work online?”

How did I decide that THIS is what I’m going to do?

What drove me from earning over $6k a month as a personal trainer, a single father with a 1 year old son, to deciding that I was going to be successful in this world of 1s and 0s (that’s internet speak for you non-nerds)?

What was the motivation to work online…it must have been dementia.

Absolutely.

Actually, I decided that I was tired.

I grew sick and tired of not being able to have a healthy night’s sleep.

I got sick of the 5am training sessions that, although enjoyable due to my very select clientele ( fortunately I loved the people I trained like family), drained me of the little energy I did have to better MYSELF!

I couldn’t train in the sport that I loved and wanted to pursue because it was either time or money.

Never enough of both.

I had to sleep in my car.

I had to spend more time in the gym due to my stretched out schedule than I did at home.

I was jokingly called a gym rat, and it hurt, because I felt like a slave.

The few days of the week I got to see my son were secretly miserable. I adored being around him and chasing him allover the house, but the fact that he had already taken his first steps without me, cried for his mother when he was cranky, and would refuse to sleep in my arms broke my heart.

I was done.

I decided to inform my clientele that I was done with Personal Training; that I had a month left and that was it.

I would no longer fear the consequences for the luxury of security. I was going to see my son grow up no matter if I made a fortune online or if I didn’t.

Fear lost its hold on me.

Everyone thought I was out of my mind, and I knew how little they believed in me, but that’s what people do.

I expected that.

Fortunately for me, I’ve always believed in me when nobody else did, so that didn’t deter me one bit.

Since I was a young, chubby, adolescent, I realized that taking the bullies’ remarks to heart never helps, it just makes you want more pie.

I listened to the few people that told me to, “See what happens,” and to, “Treat it like a business.” One of those friends is a guy that started off selling hosting from his apartment, and turned that into a million dollar a year business. His black card was proof enough.

I definitely had less energy for that first month.

Yeah, it was rough.

And, I had to see my son less.

After that first day and making a sale, I realized how real this was.

I got past the biggest obstacle of any real business online.

My own mind.

Making money was now a tangible thing. I had something I could spend.

It was real, and I knew I was doing what I was supposed to do.

Long story short, 2 years later and I’m making several years’ income and expending half the energy.

I still work just as hard as ever, but only after a night’s sleep, and only because I want to.

In the end, what is my motivation for working online?

My motivation for working online is me, as it should be for all of us.

It wasn’t anything on the outside that caused me to decide that I had had enough.

Nothing had changed. Everything external was as redundant as it had always been.

What changed were my self beliefs.

I thought about how many people told me I couldn’t, and decided to tell them otherwise.

I was the person in charge here, and I’d fail or be successful on my own terms.

Fortunately, I proved them all wrong on theirs as well.

Check out a book titled “The New Psycho-Cybernetics.”

You can get the book or the DVD, it doesn’t matter.

I’ve read everything, or close to, and this book is the forefather, and the best, of all of the material I’ve read. I promise it will inspire you if I haven’t already.

Even if you don’t buy it, make sure to take from my example, and trust in your ability especially when no one else does.

You’re the only thing that you’re certain of anyway.

Until next time, keep the pie off your face.

A Better Real Estate Deal In Winnipeg Than In Toronto!

by Dane Masters

Three years ago, there was a real boom in real estate in the state of Toronto. Our family who lived there took a decision to move out, and sold our town home. The result was a nice tidy sum, enough to pay off a previous mortgage, and give a good profit. The money we got from this sale enabled us to purchase a large house in Winnipeg. We paid in cash for a house that had four bedrooms in it and seemed to have plenty of character! The relocation and parting, though not very pleasant, was worth every penny!

When we bought this house, it needed renovating and so the old owners demanded only $65,000 for it. Since then, some repairs have been carried out on the house. Of course, some more work has to be done. Like for instance, installing a solid hardwood floor over the entire living area. But these minor problems can be sorted out. A comforting factor is that the same house would have fetched huge dividends in the Toronto real estate market, and so was well worth it! The house is on a sprawling estate and it seems as if the property is almost double in size. Winnipeg real estate prices go up by 20% every year. So the new home would fetch at least $300,000 in the Toronto real estate market. If renovated completely, the price would go up to $500,000. The location also has a say in the price.

Recently I was browsing Toronto real estate listings, just to keep an eye on how the market is doing. I was shocked to realize that there are virtually no actual houses available for sale, regardless of condition, anywhere in the Toronto real estate market, for less than $250,000! I couldn’t believe it. Anyone looking to buy in a lower price range is left to choose from townhomes and condominiums. There are no longer any affordable houses in the City of Toronto, regardless of neighborhood, condition or amenities.

Imagine the thrill of living in a place where commuting to and from office is peaceful. No gridlocks to battle through, no evidence of road rage. Anyone who wants to live here can afford a house since it is only $100,000. There are umpteen houses to choose from, in a variety of neighborhoods. If you wish to put up new windows and high efficiency furnaces along with your fixer-upper, Manitoba Hydro offers loans at low interest rates. So there is no need to worry. The town homes and condominiums up for sale demand a maintenance fee; but this is only a fraction of what one would have to pay in Toronto.

Thus, all types of people can adjust to Winnipeg, for the real estate prices are within affordable range unlike the city of Toronto.

What is the best thing about Winnipeg is that life moves at a slower pace over here. Every one has time for each other. The children are happy with the wide open spaces. We keep in touch with family and friends, though we are far away. The silver lining on the cloud is that we took the right decision three years ago when we decided to move out here!

Can You Look Up Phone Numbers Online For Free?

by David Alex Grier

In the pre world wide web days, people used to rely on books as their primary source of information. Today, the internet has transformed how we research information we need in our daily lives.

The amazing changes that the world wide web has brought about has changed how we find people we have lost touch with, including long lost family members. This leads me to the subject of my article, People Search.

One of the most innovative areas for finding people are the social networking sites. The most popular services are ones like MySpace where you sign up and can communicate thousands of people daily.

An alternative to using free social networking services is to pay for membership services where you get more thorough information. The upside is that you will find much more comprehensive results. The downside is of course the price, cost, fee, membership fee, subscription fee.

People who are open to paying for a subscription service can sign up with a reverse phone membership. Just enter the phone number and you will receive information like phone carrier, recent address, and person’s name.

There are many sites that claim to be free reverse phone lookup services, but almost all of them end up leading to the same paid sites anyway, so as the saying goes, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. If you are looking for information about a phone number and you want it right away, you must use the membership services.

Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Clickbank Ebook

by Gilbert Hernandez

Getting Traffic From “Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Clickbank Ebook” is easy. I chose this search term because it is a common misspelling of the name Ewen. It gets searches all the time and there isn’t much competition for it. This is a strategy used by many article marketers, affiliate marketers and by AdWords advertisers.

Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Clickbank Ebook is a product that was sold on Clickbank awhile back. It was for the beginner in internet marketing. I am not sure if it is still being sold or not but people are still searching this phrase in the search engines. That is the reason that I used it in my post title.

To get ranked highly for the keyword phrase, “Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Clickbank Ebook”, I have titled my article with it and placed it throughout the body of this article. That should optimize this article for the directories that I get published on and direct traffic to my site.

It should not be too difficult to rank highly for this term since there is not much competition for it. In fact, most of the competition probably didn’t even realize that they misspelled Ewen’s name. Now I am going to capitalize on the fact that people often make this mistake.

I will get higher rankings because I will place the anchor text “Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Clickbank Ebook”, in the author bio section of this article with my webpage’s adress embedded into it. When hundreds of article directories get a version of this article posted on their site I will have hundreds of links pointing back to my site. The search engines love this and will therefore rank my site at the top of the listings.

Ewen Chia is an affiliate marketing guru. I chose this term because people who are doing a search on him may also find some benefit from my website. I will be using more phrases like this one to generate even more traffic to my site.

There are all sorts of keyword research tools out there to help you find terms like, “”Ewan Chia’s Affiliate Clickbank Ebook”, that you can easily dominate in the search engines. Lots of these terms don’t get tons of searches but when you find lots of these it’s easy to rank for lots of them and build traffic that way. One article a day that generates 10 visitors per month ads up to around 300 visitors a month. Do this for a couple of months and see how the traffic and money starts rolling in.

5 Steps To Writing A Brilliant Press Release

by Theo McLanahan

If you want to get publicity for your business via the media, press releases are an excellent way to do it. Here are 5 ways to boost the appeal of your press release.

Correct Format: There is a format that press releases need to follow. Make sure your yours is written in the correct format, as you will want it to look as professional as possible. It is also a good idea to double-check the grammar, punctuation and spelling before you send it in for submission.

Keep it Clear and Concise: Your press release should be no longer than two pages. Media outlets receive lots of press releases and don’t have time to read a ten page report. Keeping your writing clear and concise allow you to fit in the important facts without going over the two page limit. As you decide what information to include, answer the following questions: who, what, why, where, when, and how.

What Is The Reader Going To Gain: Give your press releases a call to action. Include something that is going to inspire readers to go to your event, visit your website, attend your grand opening, etc. Writing a blatant ad will be obvious. Incorporate the features and benefits of what you are promoting, and give information on what it will do for your target market.

For example, if you were promoting a new food processor, you need to go beyond just saying it’s smaller and takes up less space than other models. You need to state that the smaller size gives the customer the full power of a larger model, while helping them to save precious counter space in their kitchen.

Make it interesting. If your press release is boring, nobody is going to read past the first couple of lines. Try to find the line between simple facts and excitement. Back to the food processor example, instead of just saying “our new food processor will be available in the spring” try something like “out new space-saving food processor will be available this spring, just in time to help you chop the fresh vegetables you’re growing for your summer salads.”

Remember Your Target Market: As you write and submit your press releases, keep your target market in mind at all times. By keeping your audience in mind, you will be able to focus on what information to include and where to submit your press releases. For instance, if you are promoting an event related to children’s health, submitting a press release to the travel editor of your local paper isn’t going to help you.

The media won’t run a story on every single press release they receive, but if you follow these steps it’s going to put you above a large percentage of the other releases coming across their desk.

Capture Your Readers With A Tantalizing Web Posting

by Don Bethune

Simply stated; a blog should be completely focussed in having people study its contents. The web is constantly bombarded with countless blog sites of almost any topic. So this avalanche of websites has a constant battle of keeping readers back for more postings.

Most of the time visitors just scan the blog for any points that catch their attention than reading the entire blog. So the main goal when writing a goal becomes to catch the attention of the visitor in the first few seconds so that they continue to read the entire blog. Given below are few helpful points to keep in mind when writing a blog post.

Snag the focus of the visitor: Make them curious by creating short paragraphs that have sections text emphasized or set in bold headings. Clearly displaying these sections will provide enough highlights to the reader of the general sense of the entire article. The reader can zoom quickly to the sections of interest and study further your blog article. Keeping each point of your headings clearly displayed and intriguing will draw their interest.

When is the last time you looked for an interesting illustration or photo to go with your blog posting? Even an odd looking illustration will force the reader to pause and ingest this information. Capture their attention with the image, and they may stay to read your blog to learn more.

Fire away with bullet points: Bullets points in lists are highly effective in quickly conveying your points in a condensed format. Such brief points attracts the blog reader to read and more importantly think of what you have stated. Reading such concise points builds interest and increases the odds they will read the rest of your blog.

First Write the content, then the title: The title of the blog should present the full ideas in the blog and at the same time it should be catchy. So it is a good idea to first write the blog completely and then write a title for it. In this way it becomes easy to create a title that encompasses the entire theme of the blog.

Startle the browser by being controversial on your subject title. By going against the flow of the normal brain process gives you a chance to be above the storm of blogs. Be prepared to substantiate what your title says or you will lose readers.

Why let the reader walk away? Get them to blog through comments on your blog: Make an inquiry at the end of your blog post that simply motivates a blog reader to respond through further questions or comments by their blog responses. Simple hooks that keeps the reader participating in your blog by posting related information from their experiences will only increase the value of your blog website.

Use Article Marketing To Get More Traffic

by Rick W. Freeman

People using article marketing know it is the best free way to get exposure and traffic to their site.

The entire aim of the article is for people interested in it to follow the link, you have put at the foot of the page, to the website of your choice. Popular web sites are the best because it should give your article a good deal of exposure, within a comparatively short time you should start to experience more traffic at your site.

Fashionable sites tend to be acknowledged as authority sites, so if your article is used it can improve your credibility as well. By improving your standing, you will by default, also improve the level of trust people have for you.

If you do this article marketing and submission procedure on a frequent basis, people will start to look for your content and trust your work. This is why it is so important to show people that you know what you are talking about so they trust the material you provide in the area you write about. In time your website’s ranking with Google and other search engines will increase from the number of incoming links you have, by default this will increase the number of organic visitors you receive that have searched for something your site has information on.

The purpose of all this is to increase your credibility with the various search engines, you should find that in time that more visitors that have found you in the search engines improves. The more websites that link to yours, the more traffic you will achieve, more importantly, none of this traffic actually costs anything at all!

Article marketing not only allows links in the body text of the article but in the resource box at the foot of the page. Your article must have good content if you want it placed in many websites because this in turn will link back to your own website which of course will increase the website ranking. Unfortunately you cannot normally expect your site to be listed straight away with the search engines.

To grow your sites ranking further, you want to be adding more content (preferably unique) to your site (or blog) all the time if you want your article marketing to work. The traffic you attract have no idea most of the time you are trying to sell them something. The more honest you are about what you are doing, the more people will appreciate it, providing the information you supply is relevant to what they are looking for.

This process is sort of like a safety net because you are explaining the procedure to them so they will not have the wrong understanding. The last thing you want after making the sale is to give back the money so by carrying out this process you lessen your chance of it occurring.

It’s this procedure of article marketing that makes sure that you will be in business for quite a long time, This does require you to realise that all of this can’t be reached with just one article. The objective is to have other internet site owners link their site to yours as well as using your content also, Having your article repeated on other people’s sites can bring a great deal of traffic. With the many ways to drive traffic to your site, article marketing is still the most efficient, with relevant, quality unique articles, visitors will keep returning.

When Link Building, Don’t Spin Your Wheels With Numbers

by Julie Johnson

It is not difficult to get caught up in the numbers game. There are many different reasons that mass directory submissions preserve the link building process. One of these reasons includes a much used process in business, which would be the focusing on a measurable constant method to rank progress. Ask yourself what would sound better to a client, 25 minor directory submissions or 3 quality, maintainable links?

By giving your client the 50 minor submissions, you might be making them happy in the present, but this is not the way to responsibly gain results. The problem with this scenario is that relying on the number of links to the point of forgetting the whole reason of gaining links in the first place.

Free directories are not all alike. Some of them will approve instantly, when others will take months, or never will approve. Make sure to use good judgment when submitting to directories, making sure those directories will provide staying power for your links, while also that they stick around, and don’t drop off the face of the earth after a few months.

Above all, don’t undervalue taking the time to cultivate a relationship on the web to obtain valuable links. Write personalized, non-spammy emails to webmasters of sites in your industry and of relevant topics. Instead of typing and copying and pasting the same information into directories, give your mind and fingers a break by using some creativity instead and exploring new approaches.

Working on links on blogs within your industry can have long lasting effects. Avoid being waterlogged with numbers, instead figure new approaches to better effectiveness, believe me, your clients will be much more satisfied.
