Why I Work How I Want And When I want.

by Mr Webbyfied

I was really in deep thought today.

“What motivated me to work online?”

How did I decide that THIS is what I’m going to do?

What drove me from earning over $6k a month as a personal trainer, a single father with a 1 year old son, to deciding that I was going to be successful in this world of 1s and 0s (that’s internet speak for you non-nerds)?

What was the motivation to work online…it must have been dementia.

Absolutely.

Actually, I decided that I was tired.

I grew sick and tired of not being able to have a healthy night’s sleep.

I got sick of the 5am training sessions that, although enjoyable due to my very select clientele ( fortunately I loved the people I trained like family), drained me of the little energy I did have to better MYSELF!

I couldn’t train in the sport that I loved and wanted to pursue because it was either time or money.

Never enough of both.

I had to sleep in my car.

I had to spend more time in the gym due to my stretched out schedule than I did at home.

I was jokingly called a gym rat, and it hurt, because I felt like a slave.

The few days of the week I got to see my son were secretly miserable. I adored being around him and chasing him allover the house, but the fact that he had already taken his first steps without me, cried for his mother when he was cranky, and would refuse to sleep in my arms broke my heart.

I was done.

I decided to inform my clientele that I was done with Personal Training; that I had a month left and that was it.

I would no longer fear the consequences for the luxury of security. I was going to see my son grow up no matter if I made a fortune online or if I didn’t.

Fear lost its hold on me.

Everyone thought I was out of my mind, and I knew how little they believed in me, but that’s what people do.

I expected that.

Fortunately for me, I’ve always believed in me when nobody else did, so that didn’t deter me one bit.

Since I was a young, chubby, adolescent, I realized that taking the bullies’ remarks to heart never helps, it just makes you want more pie.

I listened to the few people that told me to, “See what happens,” and to, “Treat it like a business.” One of those friends is a guy that started off selling hosting from his apartment, and turned that into a million dollar a year business. His black card was proof enough.

I definitely had less energy for that first month.

Yeah, it was rough.

And, I had to see my son less.

After that first day and making a sale, I realized how real this was.

I got past the biggest obstacle of any real business online.

My own mind.

Making money was now a tangible thing. I had something I could spend.

It was real, and I knew I was doing what I was supposed to do.

Long story short, 2 years later and I’m making several years’ income and expending half the energy.

I still work just as hard as ever, but only after a night’s sleep, and only because I want to.

In the end, what is my motivation for working online?

My motivation for working online is me, as it should be for all of us.

It wasn’t anything on the outside that caused me to decide that I had had enough.

Nothing had changed. Everything external was as redundant as it had always been.

What changed were my self beliefs.

I thought about how many people told me I couldn’t, and decided to tell them otherwise.

I was the person in charge here, and I’d fail or be successful on my own terms.

Fortunately, I proved them all wrong on theirs as well.

Check out a book titled “The New Psycho-Cybernetics.”

You can get the book or the DVD, it doesn’t matter.

I’ve read everything, or close to, and this book is the forefather, and the best, of all of the material I’ve read. I promise it will inspire you if I haven’t already.

Even if you don’t buy it, make sure to take from my example, and trust in your ability especially when no one else does.

You’re the only thing that you’re certain of anyway.

Until next time, keep the pie off your face.
