Landlines and cell phones have different ring tones. While most landline phones have only one ringtone (the familiar brrrrrring sound), cell phones give you a lot of options. The standard ringtone of landlines phones are rapidly becoming a thing of the past as more and more people make the transition to cellular.

Cell phone ring tones are commonly used to customize phones. Many cell phones are sold already loaded with a variety of ring tones; a lot of people just stick with the default ring tone, however and whenever their phone rings it makes the same old sound.

Cell phones have a few types of ring tones to choose from. Some are monophonic which means that one note is played at a time, no frills, just a ring tone that alerts you that you have an incoming call. Another type of ring tone for a cell phone is called polyphonic; several notes are played as a musical run. The most popular is the true tone; this ring tone is often taken from a MP3 or WMA music file, usually lasting about 15 seconds and mostly taken from the chorus of a song or the most memorable part. The best part about a true ring tone is you can customize a different ring tone to each caller.

Promotions to sell ring tones are all over the place, super size it, get a free ring tone, add your name to an e-mail list, get a free ring tone, read this article and respond, get a free ring tone, kidding about that last one. Since ring tones are generally just a snippet of a song, charging $0.99 cents for one is an affordable bargain. If your phone has a recordable option, you can record somebody’s voice or a distinct noise and make that your ring tone. Creativity is not just left up to a musical group; you can become your own performance artist.

Since your cell phone is a primary function of life then why not customize it to your tastes? There are so many ring tones available you can have one for every person who gets the privilege to be on your SIM card. Depending on who is on your cell phone contact list, you can give each person their own ring tone based on a song that you identify with them. College fight songs, wedding songs, just about any song you can think of they’ve got a true tone available.

On my own phone, I have five different ringtones. One is for my wife, another for my (very precocious) nine year old daughter who just got her first cell phone, another one for my best friend. Knowing who is calling you saves you the trouble of picking up the phone for a wrong number or a person trying to sell you something.

It can be a lot of fun to shop for individual ringtones for everyone on your contacts list. In an age where technology has depersonalized some aspects of our lives, it’s good to know that cell phones still offer the possibilities of creativity, personality and fun.

You can create your own ring tone or buy one from a subscription site. Be careful with the subscription site though, you don’t want to get stuck with a bunch of ring tones that don’t reflect what you want to say or hear. There are some subscription sites that allow you benefit from their research based on your preferences. Sorry, I’ve got to cut this short, the ring tone titled, “From This Moment” by Shania Twain tells me my wife is calling.

When you are looking for a job in any industry you will fail if you aren’t suited to that position, and even if you are suited to the position you will fail in attaining the job if you don’t have the right tools to showcase your talents and achievements.

Sadly, there is no dream formula to help you land your dream job. By following a few job hunting tips you can take a giant step in the pursuit of that dream job and therefore enhance your prospects of success.

You have to know what you are good at and what you’re not good at. Look at your past history and your interests, what have you really enjoyed doing, what interests you, what will give you enough incentive to maintain that interest?

You will never see an advertisement in the newspaper that says ” Wanted 1 (your name) no experience necessary”, offering a huge pay packet to boot. If you are single minded enough to do what ever it takes to secure your dream job, research it, will you need to further your education.

You should research the differing types of opportunities available in your location, perhaps the position for which you are eminently suited is not available in your area. If this is the case, and you are determined to gain that dream job, perhaps a relocation is in order.

Some times you can’t see the forest for the trees, other people may see qualities and skills in you that you can’t see yourself, this is the reason some job seekers go to a professional. An employment consultant may be able to help you formulate a truthful but professional view of your capabilities.

Concentrate on applying for positions that you have experience with, too many people waste too much time applying for positions that are out of their reach, either because of their experience or education. If your education is a barrier to your achieving your dream job, improve it.

As unemployment rises it becomes harder to secure that perfect job. The ideal job for you is out there but you will have more and more people to compete with to secure that job. Make your application as professional and impressive as possible. Remember, you are competing with others for that job.

Applying for the perfect job is one of many hurdles that you will have to overcome. But the most important hurdle is still to come, the interview. It is a good idea to enlist the help of someone to practice your interview skills. Role play the interview, become comfortable with the process so that you will have all of the answers to any questions that may be asked of you.

For those of you who are unsure exactly what a digital camera is; it is a camera that can capture images without having to use film. A digital camera although with many functions does not need the complicated mechanical components of a standard film camera.

Since the images that a digital camera captures are in electronic form, it is a language recognized by computers. Unlike film cameras where the image is captured on light sensitive film, digital cameras store the images as pixels that convert to computer bytes. Digital cameras still use lenses in much the same way that conventional cameras do. All the budding digital camera enthusiast needs to know is that despite the difference in how the image is captured, the ultimate effect is the same.

Images seen on good and more expensive digital cameras are captured using an alternative method of a charged coupled device commonly known as a CCD which you may have heard of. Less expensive digital cameras us a complementary metal oxide semi-conductor or CMS device which does the same work of capturing an image and although some believe it could replace the CCD, this is not likely.

The price of a digital camera nowadays have been depreciating, one of the main reasons of this is because of the introduction of CMOS image sensors, this is because CMOS sensors are less expensive and are easier to manufacture than CCD sensors. It would take a knowledgeable person to see the difference between an image captured with a CMOS against the superior CCD system.

From the point of view on having good quality photos, look for a high megapixel camera as it will be worth it and you may find a model that is being superseded at a discount as well.

Where you have a choice, optical zooms are better than digital ones – always.

Don’t waste your money on standard disposable batteries as rechargeable ones nowadays are very affordable and long lasting which could save you hundreds of dollars on standard ones.

Many people are just happy to point and shoot but if you want your camera to do a little more than try to buy one with more functions. Think 512MB as a bare minimum with today’s high resolution cameras so if you’re a photo junkie you can takes pictures of just about anything.

Digital cameras are now very tiny compared to a few years ago so you can actually carry around a high spec camera in your pocket and still be able to take fantastic pictures. So by doing this you won’t feel as if you are a journalist or nature photographer wherever you go.

These are just the basic things you have to look for in a digital camera when you buy one. With their range of features and ease of use, digital cameras are the future of photography.

This is the last installement of the series on stock market investment principles. We discussed about the first seven principles in the past three articles. Now we will be discussing the last three principles. If you wish to view the article in its entirety please visit my blog.

8.) You must devote your time to study – When you want to invest in the stock market you should devote time to study what it’s all about. You can’t just place in your money and hope that it will somehow grow someday. You have to read books and materials on the stock market. When I started investing I dug out materials in the internet related to the stock market especially the Philippine stock market. I bought books on the stock market. The Philippine stock exchange has an “investor’s primer” for those who are new to the stock market. (See the Philippine stock exchange website for more information.)

Attend seminars on stock market investments. There are several brokerage firms that conduct free seminars for newbies in stock market investing. Last year, CITISEC Online did a 2 day free seminar. I took the time to attend that seminar. This brokerage firm is one of the most innovative, active and well managed brokerage in the Philippines. The information you will learn in the seminars is very helpful. Continual study is required if you want to succeed in the stock market. Once you stop learning you stop to succeed.

Read all the materials you can and attend all the seminars you can in order to learn. Don’t be discouraged when there are terms you could not understand. For example just reading this post alone, you would probably raise your hands and tell yourself not to invest anymore since there are some terms you could not understand. You don’t even know what “points” are when I was talking about them in point number 2. You don’t even know what the heck is the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) or what does “Blue Chips” or “Bull run” mean. Worse you don’t even understand what a stock is and how it basically works. But so what? I started out not knowing what some of these things are.

Stuff like these are never taught in school. I only learned them by reading and having a hands on experience in trading. I highly suggest that you watch the movie “Pursuit of Happyness” This is a story about one man’s struggle to learn the stock market. Years later he made millions through stock trading. This movie is based on a true story and is sure to inspire you!

9.)Know what is happening in the world around you – There are several factors that affect the stock market. Be aware of the news that is making headlines in the news paper. For sure this will give you a hint on the direction that the market will take. Never skip the business news. It is here where you will be given an idea as to which stock you should buy. I prefer reading the online version of the Philippine Daily Inquirer in order that I may know where the market is heading.

10.) Now is the best day to start – Some people say that experience is the best teacher. I agree, experience is the best way to learn. It dooes not matter if you start small at first, the most important thing is that you start immediately. Never procrastinate but don’t rush immediately without first studying the basics. When you have already learned the basics of investments, start buying your first stock. The most rewarding thing in your career as a stock market investor is when you have profited from your first sale.

The American economic crisis has been making headlines all over the world for a few months but the US is not alone when it comes to financial difficulties. Various countries around the world have suffered severe economic meltdowns (Iceland and Ukraine just to name a few). The UK has also been having serious economic troubles as well, especially in the housing industry. There has been a twelve percent drop in the price of homes in the UK in the last twelve months. We ask – has the heating and plumbing industry been affected by this?

So far evidence shows that the fallout from the economy has not affected the heating and plumbing industry as initially feared. Although there are reports of sales drops, there are still many companies reporting that sales are steady. The only major change seems to be the type of jobs undertaken by the engineers.

Up to last year, when the housing market was on an upswing, many heating and plumbing engineers were hired to create completely new plumbing and heating or cooling systems. In many ways, a new house and would often lead to completely new plumbing and heating system to be designed and installed. Now that the housing market has slowed down, home owners are more concerned with making sure their current systems will last as long as possible, while keeping costs down.

Heating and plumbing engineers are now being hired to repair and renovate systems in homes. Heating and cooling systems are being retooled and cleaned instead of being replaced. Professionals are finding that their billable hours are going toward boiler replacement and hot water cylinder repairs and inspecting vents and drains to ensure that they are working correctly and cost efficiently.

Heating and plumbing engineers are happy to book their hours, and they do not necessarily look for a redesign project with new built homes. Repairs and replacements provide dependable work and they ensure that these professional engineers are able to pay their bills.

Some heating engineers have discovered that diversifying their business and learning how to practice “green” methods of plumbing and heating can remarkably improve their number of billable hours, as recently clients have shown interest in making sure their homes are environmentally friendly. Solar thermal panels, under floor heating systems and environmentally friendly sewer systems are becoming more popular.

The simple fact remains that even though the economy is clearly slowing down, the heating and plumbing industry will be able to stay fairly stable because of the simpler jobs of renovations and repairs and periodic maintenance. Engineers who are up to date on “green” technologies will also be able to bring in a fair amount of work each week. It is important for heating and plumbing engineers to be flexible. The more flexible an engineer can be, the more likely they are to survive no matter what the economic conditions are.
