Make Money With Adwords New Strategies

If you want to make money with Adwords, you will need to keep up to date with the new strategies that are constantly appearing, as well as keeping pace with the changes that Google makes to its Adwords policies.

In 2007, with the publication of Day Job Killer, Adwords became a game of ‘kill the competition’. Almost immediately, software systems and membership sites sprang up to help the advertiser track and conquer his competitors’ ads. Unfortunately a lot of these memberships were very expensive.

In the wake of that, people who could not afford such memberships or did not want to spend their whole lives tracking, tweaking and testing Adwords ads began to look around for new ideas. So in early 2008, internet marketers rediscovered something that was long considered dead – the content network.

If you have come to Adwords in the last couple of years, you may not know that the search and content networks were once united. Google separated them to give advertisers more control in the days when click fraud was common. Most advertisers immediately (and rightly) turned off the content network for their ads.

However, times have changed and click fraud is no longer a serious problem. Google now shuts down any Adsense account suspected of ‘invalid clicks’. This is bad news for the Adsense site owners who can now be put out of business by any bored visitor who repeatedly clicks on their ads. But for Adwords advertisers, it means that the content network is up for grabs again.

There are several advantages of using the content network instead of the search network. Firstly, the cost per click is usually lower. Secondly, you do not have the same fight for space with your competitors, and thirdly, you have a lot more control. You can pick out the exact sites that you want your ad to appear on.

The last point there is very important. When setting up a campaign for the content network, always specify target sites for your ads. In fact, you should specify not only the site, but the exact pages of the site.

Just like advertising on the search network, you want to make sure that the people who see your ad are very interested in your product. You don’t want untargeted clicks. So for example if you are promoting an exercise treadmill, you want your ad on a fitness site, but not on pages about weight training.

It is also better to pick out sites that have their Adsense ads ‘above the fold’ so that people see them as soon as the page is opened, without having to scroll down. Ads in the ‘hot’ area toward the top left of the screen will usually do best.

Firefox- Undisputed Winner Of Browser War

The Firefox brand of web browser is one that many Internet users both know and love. But what many don’t know is that the browser first got its roots in an entirely different browser altogether- Netscape Navigator. Because of the hot war between Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, Netscape eventually decided to release their source code as an open source item to be viewed and developed by any who wished. This decision led to the founding of the Mozilla Firefox project, previously know as Firebird, in 1998. Ever since the critical acclaim that Firefox obtained after its mainstream success, it seems that the browser has been outperforming each and every release of Internet Explorer that comes out in recent months. After all, the long development time and open source movement can be quite a powerful tool indeed.

Security is a very big issue with Internet browsers. After all, there is no reason in entrusting a browser that has multiple security risks in it that can lead to identity theft, ruin one’s computer, or otherwise damage an investment that goes into every computer. Mozilla Firefox recognizes this, and likewise does not allow Active X components that are largely attributed to spyware and security holes. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, on the other hand, has long been associated with security risks that are usually wide open for months at a time- compared to the mere hours or days that Firefox can fix their security holes.

Firefox browser is very light weight in terms of its installation setup which is just above 4.9MB as compared to IE which is around 80 MB. Firefox download is available for different platforms like Windows, Mac & Linux and hence is more versatile in usage.

Firefox derives its powerful rendering engine “Gecko” from its parent Mozilla products. Its rendering is precise and speedy though it fails Acid 2 test (a standard compliance test for webpage rendering) but still scores well above than IE, which lags at the bottom when rendering is considered.

Internet Explorer is commonly close to many types of invention and creativity that Mozilla Firefox lets its users enjoy. Internet explorers can’t enjoy open source plugins, themes, or other add-ons that Mozilla Firefox can. In many respects, such add-ons are what can make one browser more useful than another- as we all have specific needs in a browser that only open source developers can address on such a large basis.

Tabbed browsing is a sensation that can triple productivity many times over, simply due to the fact that there is better organization and record keeping to be done with tabbed browsing. Internet Explorer versions have accomplished offering the same thing, but it is less efficient on memory usage and will appear to be much more slow than that of Firefox.

A browser crash is something that is hated by many. After all, it’s extremely counter-productive to be browsing the Internet and have a browser completely stop responding. Even Firefox admits that browser crashes happen, but they implemented a session restore feature that gives URL data and other information to users, should they want to restore the URLs they were previously viewing. This is something Internet Explorer lacks, and is much less appealing as a result.

The future development of Firefox versions has already been started and version 3 which is likely to pass Acid 2 test is expected to release in June 2008. With this release Firefox is set to show doors to IE legacy.

This can be achieved by adopting a few simple time management techniques that will have a positive and tangible effect on how you work and the results you achieve. Rather the work for weeks, months or even years for that next promotion, consider these simple suggestions that will help get you noticed.

1. Clean up the clutter around your workspace. If you work in a cluttered office with papers and files everywhere, people are going to notice. Your boss is going to notice too. Think about this for a moment. If you had the opportunity to give one of your two employees a raise and a promotion, who would you pick? The neat, productive guy or the messy productive guy?

Rather than wait any longer, just clean up your messy desk and office. You’ll see two good things happen when you do. First, your productivity and efficiency will go up because you’re no longer having to dig through a messy workspace just to find your important documents. Second, your boss and everyone else will notice your nice and clean office the next time they come by. Your now clean office is a good conversation started, especially as you talk to your boss about wanting to be promoted. Don’t wait any longer, just do it and you’ll be happy you did.

2. A supportive physical environment is best. So often people forget about the quote from Bucky Fuller “Environment is stronger than willpower”. It’s true so why not use your environment to your advantage? Try this simple process. Pick five different things that occupy space in your office. For each of the 5 different things, ask the question “Does this ‘thing’ support my productivity goals or does it hinder my productivity goals?”. When you answer that question honestly about each of the things you pick, you’ll be taking the first step towards improving your chances of getting promoted.

When you tell yourself the truth, you’ll see what you should do with each object. You want to eliminate any object in your environment that does not clearly support your time management and efficiency goals. You should listen to your own answers and follow through. You only want objects in your office which support your goals, nothing else. So right now bite the bullet and get rid of any “non-supportive” objects in your environment and you’ll immediately feel the difference.

Having more energy and better productivity are two key elements your boss will look for as promotion time draws near.

3. Handle emails, calls, and request efficiently. So much communication happens all day at the office and it’s easy to get buried and let things like email pile up in your inbox. You can improve your chances for promotion if you respond quickly and efficiently to any and all emails, phone messages and conversations.

When it comes to emails, it’s easier to say “don’t let your inbox fill up” than it is to actually find the time to process all your messages. That’s life so get over it. Take a few minutes and figure out a system that will separate emails from your boss, your coworkers and your friends into separate categories. Answer the emails from your boss first with brief and intelligent replies that show you are on top of things, and that you are following through on your commitments.

After you handle the emails from your boss, go ahead and answer the emails to your peers or other employees at your level. Use the same efficient and effective language you use with your boss and don’t worry if these people wonder why you always answer the boss first. That’s the way it supposed to be done and when it is time for your boss to give a promotion, he will see you as the person who communicates well and good communication is critical in the work place.

One more thing, about the emails you get from your friends. If you don’t have a personal email address where they can email, get one fast. You don’t want to be distracted at work by unnecessary “joke emails” from friends. Beside, with email security issues and the fact that employers will look into all your email, you really don’t want odd events of your personal life to be stored on company email servers.

These simple steps may seem “too easy”, but don’t let that stop you. When you start doing them, you and everyone else, including the boss, will see an improvement in your work and how you get things done. It will be clear and obvious that you are ready for more responsibility and a promotion. Get to work right now and you’ll be surprised at how fast things change for you.
