Will Jobs Get Easier For Teens To Find?

by Mickey Jasper

Finding jobs for everyone is difficult but teens have been especially hard hit. This summer, many found that finding someone who would hire them was next to impossible. Workers with little experience have little chance of being hired when matched up with people who have been in the workforce for years and are suddenly willing to accept lower paying jobs.

Usually, teens starting around the 16-year-old age range are out looking for jobs during the summer and winter vacations. Many employers who can use some extra help that doesnt require much experience would normally be happy to help out and hire them. These are the hourly jobs that teens would usually take and now they are finding that all these hourly jobs with little experience required, have been taken by all kinds of other workers.

Because so many workers have lost jobs, there is more demand for any kind of job and that includes lower paying hourly work that teens often qualify for. Employers who might have ordinarily hired teenagers this summer suddenly had an influx of more experienced workers who need jobs to feed their families. This meant many teens were left without jobs.

Teens have grown up with computers and they know that one of the places to look and find a job is online. This has meant a boom for the Internet jobs sites, as they have been flooded with workers of all ages looking for work. Unfortunately there havent been enough jobs being posted to keep up with the demand.

Any teenager hoping to find work now must be patient and persistent in their job search. Kids are back in school now so there is less competition among teens who can still hold down a part time job after work. The most important thing is to not give up and keep searching for that job because eventually something will open up.
