At Canon City and Royal Gorge there are a lot of scenic and historic sites to visit. One of this site is the Royal Gorge Route Railroad where it is considered as the most spectacular scenic railroad in the world. The worlds tallest suspension bridge called the Royal Gorge Bridge is also found at Canon City.
You can enjoy the river rafting that the Arkansas River offers. Offering exciting trips for all ability levels, from mild to wild, you’ll have a blast battling Colorado whitewater. There is also the award winning Winery at Holy Cross Abbey is one of Colorado’s most popular wineries. Matt Cookson, from the Napa Valley, is the winemaker for the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey. His expertise and attention to detail is evident with his many award winning wines. There is also a full of history when you visit Canon City downtown with its many shops, restaurants and galleries.
In a time of uncertainty, New Age Imports Gifts has put together a community event to bring together people to help ignite inner knowledge. There will be Canon City Metaphysical Fair on March 27, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, March 28 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on March 29 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The admission is $5.00 one day pass and a $8.00 weekend pass. There is a $1 discount when you will donate a non perishable food. This Metaphysical Fair helps to raise food donations for our local food bank.
There will be a free workshop on how to free you from stress, Rediscover yourself, Shamanic Journeys, New and improved Antioxidants, improving your health and well being. Beside the free workshop there will also be artists, dancers, healers, quality readers and informational classes.
There will be local and national vendors with there different crafts available. Crafts that are from potpourri to salt lamps, jewelry, clothes, chimes, dragons, fairies and many more are also available for shopping.
