Cisco Training in London

by Scott Edwards

If your search is for Cisco Training in London and you haven’t worked with routers before, then the qualification you require is the CCNA. This course is designed to train individuals looking to have a working knowledge of routers.

Large companies who have several locations use routers to connect their networks in different buildings to allow their networks to keep in touch. The Internet is also built up of hundreds of thousands of routers.

As routers connect networks together, look for a course that includes basic networking skills (such as CompTIA) before you start the CCNA. You will need an understanding of how networks work before you start your Cisco training or you’ll be lost. Once qualified and looking for work, employers will be looking for networking skills alongside your CCNA.

Cisco also offer a higher level, called CCNP. Don’t let anybody persuade you to buy a CCNP course until you’ve had a couple of years of industry experience. There are two reasons for this:

1. It is likely you’ll decide that you don’t need to take it based on your job role.

2. This higher level of qualification is difficult, and without experience you may have problems.

Cisco Training In And Around London…

For ease of learning make sure you use interactive training material, preferably on a library of discs which you can use on your PC or laptop. This means you can study in your own home. This takes away the inconvenience, time and cost of travelling to a college to study, and provides you with the very latest state of the art training environment.

This type of training starts with a tutorial in an easy to follow video format. This quickly moves on to a demonstration, and then a virtual lab where you can practice what you’ve just learned. This is a very comfortable, natural way to learn your skill and there are no technical manuals to challenge your boredom threshold.

With courses like this it is inperative to have access to 24/7 online mentoring, with direct access to those mentors anytime around the clock. It is not much help if you can only speak to mentors during office hours, if you’re studying alongside a job. As you will come to realise, the level of support we are recommending is not offered by most training providers even though they claim to provide 24/7 support.
