Reaching Your Fitness Potential

by Marcus Martinez

What does it really take to reach your fitness goals? Lose weight? Muscle Building? Conditioning? Whatever you’re trying to do, you need to focus on what really needs to happen to reach your goals.

I started thinking about achieving my fitness goals, as well as helping those people I train to reach their fitness goals, and as much as I want to say that something like a new routine or the latest and greatest workout will help you reach your fitness goals, all it really takes is blood, sweat, and tears.

It takes a constant push towards improving yourself by giving everything you’ve got every time. It’s about setting your fitness goal, visualizing it, and then doing whatever it takes to get there.

I can tell you what won’t get you there is a lack of intensity in your training and using the bare minimum in what you can lift each and every time, never progressing, and doing a ton of exercises to sculpt your body. If you follow what I say of training hard, training heavy, and training efficiently, you’d be leagues above 99% of the population.

Most people don’t train hard enough to see real results. You have to push yourself to a place you’ve never been if you want to see results you’ve never seen. When you do the same thing over and over again and you can expect the same mediocre results. What you should do is run that extra mile, sprint that extra hill, tack on some more weight on that bar or pick a heavier kettlebell.

Whatever it is, push yourself harder, heavier and more efficiently and you will see results, guaranteed. There is no magic pill, nutritional supplement or super food that can do that for you. My unfortunate dose of reality is that changing your body is a grind where mental and physical weakness must be conquered and the result is a body you can be proud of.
