ViSalus Sciences Review – Scam Or Legit Opportunity?

by Brian McCoy

The ViSalus home business opportunity is making a name for itself in the network marketing industry. So is this company a scam or a legitimate home based business opportunity?

1) The Company

ViSalus Sciences founders Ryan Blair, Blake Mallen, and Nick Sarnicola created ViSalus with a vision to combine passion for people with the principles of health and entrepreneurship. “ViSalus” comes from the Latin “Vi,” meaning Life, and “Salus,” which means Health and Prosperity. The company is based in Troy, Michigan and was founded in March 1997. The company now has offices in California as well.

2) Product Line

The ViSalus line of products contains traditional health MLM products such as vitamins, supplements, weight loss, and anti-aging products. The Vi-PAK products were the first for the company. The vitamin packs come in AM/PM pre-divided out packs. ViSalus ViPAK retails for $150 for a 30 day supply.

ViSalus has had a lot of success marketing their weight loss system called the Trim Slim Shape Program. The program offers every imaginable weight loss accessory including drinks and shakes, deter mints, recipes, a journal to log your success, and a measuring tape.

ViSalus NEURO products are formulated to give your body as well as your mind a lift.

3) Compensation Plan

ViSalus is a network marketing home based business opportunity. People can join the company at either the “Associate” level for $39, or the “Executive Success System” for the price of $499. ViSalus has a unilevel pay plan. A unilevel plan requires that you have a certain number of “qualified” legs and meet specified sales volume levels. You also must stay on a monthly product “autoship” to ensure receiving your commissions. As is the case with all other network marketing programs, you can qualify for higher rank levels, pay scale, and bonuses.

4) Wrap Up

In conclusion, ViSalus is not a scam. It is a legitimate MLM company that offers real products to people and the opportunity to earn an income. There are however, some significant limitations to a company such as ViSalus. The network marketing industry is extremely competitive. While ViSalus does offer legitimate products, they are still the pills, capsules, drinks, and powders that so many network marketers have come to hate. Why? Well, because it is difficult to differentiate your products from other companies such as Herbalife, Pharmanex, Usana, Noni, or any of the other hundreds of herbal supplement MLM firms around the world. What separates one company from the next? Often it is just one paid doctor’s or distributor’s view against another’s.

Likewise, if you want to make it in the MLM market you have to offer products that are unique. You need products that are highly consumable and also one of a kind. This ensures that you will be able to market your products to a wide variety of potential prospects and be able to earn an income.
