Jobs On The Net

by Russell M. Stewart

There are times when you just can’t go out to work but still need the money. You may be having a new baby or a very young one; you may be ill or have just lost a job. You just cannot sit idle and do nothing. You need to work and earn and be financially independent or you may want to add to the family kitty.

www.stepsway.com is a three month old website which has interesting posts in it. Currently two of the posts deal with jobs. It gives you interesting information and guidance as to how you can earn through the net. All that you need is a computer with a fast internet connection. As you are going to work from home there will be no commuting problems, nor will you have to drive the car and use gas. You will be saving on time and money when you work through the internet and still earn money. Isn’t that great?

But you won’t have insurance. You won’t have any fringe benefits. You won’t have any colleagues to share some time nor anyone to discus matters. Also you may wonder how the payment for the work will be done.

A disadvantage is that there will not be insurance cover nor will you have any fringe benefits of working at a regular job. Also you will not have people around you to share or talk. Also you may be worried about the payment part. After all, everyone works for money and you need to know how the payment will be made for the work you have done. These net jobs have their own modes of payment. They may make payments online or through email transfer into your bank or you may even be able to ask for a check to pay for your work.

There are many websites that offer online jobs but currently there are four on which you can depend. They are:
1. www.odesk.com
2. www.getafreelancer.com
3. www.scriptlancer.com
4. www.guru.com

oDesk is rated as the number one website for people who work from home by Business week magazine. It is a good website which was started in 2003 to help people get work and earn money. The name was coined through ‘no desk’ phrase. There is no registration fee and you can take its help for free and download the tem pack software. It supports both fixed-rate and hourly payments on projects. oDesk is a global marketplace for outsourcing jobs. The employer and the employee can be from any part of the world and may never come face to face but only through the internet.

Your profile page is very important because it is literally your face which the employer will see. So put your best points in it. Put in your experience, your qualifications, your hobbies, your plus points. Take any tests that are offered. Put your educational background in it, your skills and your payment expectations. You can rate your English also.

Here are some useful points while working for oDesk: Your profile page should be attractive as it is your ‘face’. Take all the tests offered. Put down your special skills in your profile page so that the employer can see it at a glance. Put you educational qualifications, the hours you can spend, your lowest payment expectations, hobbies, working experience and anything that you may feel is you asset to be displayed. Then you can go to the find job page and find work. And then you can begin in real earnest and you will be able to earn money as fast as you can.
