Save The Environment
There is an interesting website on the net which has a couple of very interesting blogs which deal with the environment and global stability. This website www.actualglobe.com talks about green gifts which are biodegradable and organic in nature.
One of the blogs gives ideas for Christmas gifts. Christmas is fast approaching and everyone will be giving presents to their near and dear ones. Most people rack their brains to get the most suitable ones which are easy on their pockets also.
This blog suggests that we should reduce our carbon footprints by buying green gifts. These gifts are quite inexpensive. It suggests that we buy clothing and accessories made of natural or organic material. There are organic T-shirts available in all sizes and there are bead necklaces and bracelets which use wooden beads and abaca threads. Crayons and coloring books which have nature as their themes can be given to kids who love to draw and paint. The best idea is to plant a tree and give it to the gift recipient’s name. It will be a very unusual and thrilling gift. There are nurseries from where one can buy plants or seeds.
Those of us who love to cook can bake cakes; make sauces or some food items to gift to our friends. These can be placed in a biodegradable and non toxic container and presented. Cute containers are also available in several shops and stores.
There have been climatic changes round the world. More cyclones, typhoons, monsoon fury and the like are seen. This is because we, human beings have spoilt our environment by cutting down trees indiscriminately. A lot of trees need to be cut down so that people can use paper napkins, paper plates and cups, newspapers and the like. Each item means the felling of so many trees.
By limiting the use of paper in our homes, we can limit the cutting down of trees to a great extent. Instead of tissues we can use washable linen napkins. Instead of paper plates during parties one can use other types of plates. We can send messages through the email or through mobile phone messages so that invitation paper is saved. Halloween and Christmas has a lot of party stuff made from paper. We can reuse them or do away with them and use other stuff for parties, thus saving a lot of trees from being cut down. By limiting the use of paper products in each house a lot of trees can be saved. It takes many years for a seed to sprout into a tree and people cut down trees without a second thought.
Another blog on this website talks about the differences in the world. It talks about the urgency by rich countries to tackle the current financial crisis and the slowness with which they come to the aid of poor countries. The rich countries gather companies while the poor ones get only broken promises over aid and developmental schemes. The third world countries are getting almost forgotten by the richer ones.
Another blog on this website talks about the disparity in the world. There are several poor nations which depend on the richer ones for their sustenance. And the rich ones are mainly concerned about their own economic conditions forgetting that the world today has shrunk and whatever happens in one part of the world also affects the rest. Everyone has to be together, sharing joys and sorrows instead of quibbling and being at loggerheads.
