Why Bother with Free to Air Satellite TV?
When most people think about free TV, they think about getting satellite from an analog broadcast. Most people don’t use rabbit ear antennas or outdoor antennas anymore. Why not? Well satellite and cable TV have increased in popularity over the past few decades.
So why even bother with free TV?
That’s something that you’ll have to decide. There are still people that aren’t so much into television. In this case, even free to air TV would alright. Why pay for programming when you’re not even going to watch it?
What if I want more TV for free?
Once high definition television becomes mainstream, I’m sure that there will be more free channels available digitally. However, you can get free digital channels even today without having HD. These channels are available through the internet and through existing free-to-air satellite TV (FTA satellite TV) providers.
Nobody has told me about FTA before?
In the past, FTA was mostly available to electronic hobbyists and other techie types. The technology isn’t readily available from your local electronics shops. So how can you find FTA today?
That’s why the internet is so great. There are so many places to do research and shop from. Whether you’re going to buy a system and install it yourself, of find somebody to install it for you, you’ll be able to get it easier than before.
Is there anything more about FTA I should know about?
The programs on FTA may be entertaining, but it really depends on your taste. While there are hundreds or even thousands of channels available, they may not be the programs that you’d want to watch. So besides FTA satellite TV, you might want to look into free television through your PC.
