Home-based businesses: do they really work or they are all scams?
Ask this question yourself and you might find answer like: “Yes they are for real, and mine is the best! MakeMillionsWithoutLiftingAFinger.com” or maybe “No, they are all scams, except for this one 30k-A-DayInYourPJs.com.” And who do you think is writing those answers?
All of this intentional confusion has given the impression that there are two types of businesses: “Real” ones, which require time, effort, and a significant up-front expense in order to become profitable, and “Home-based,” or more often “web-based” ones where you can sit back, do nothing, and rake in money hand over fist. Most of the latter are dummy businesses set up by people trying to take your money and who will give you nothing in return. Those two businesses types overshadow everything in between.
Any business, whether it be a “real” business or one somebody starts from home or on the web need to be treated like businesses in order to succeed. After all, each must have a product or service for sale and consumers who want to buy that product or service.
Money only changes hands when a sale is made so in order to make money, you have to sell!
Looking for a magic, million dollar deal?
It isn’t going to happen!
You don’t buy a new car without checking it out first, do you? What if it turns out to be a lemon?
We are all aware about “scams,” we are aware about “lemons,” we are aware about the pot holes under the water – we still drive through them, just slower.
Internet business, especially marketing businesses, have the advantages of low overhead, low production cost, low delivery costs and often have a way of “running themselves” but, if you want to succeed, you can’t ever forget that what you get out of a business is directly proportionate to what you put in.
Main thing is – it’s not the business that makes money, it’s the business owner.
Think about the businesses you frequent every day: supermarkets, gas stations, drug stores. Do you consider them scams waiting to happen?
Whether you make money from home or not is in your hands and your hands only.
I’ve been through a few brick-and-mortar businesses and they just didn’t work for me. Internet marketing does! But there are no free rides and you shouldn’t think that you can make a go of it without putting in some hard work on your part.
Do you have what it takes to be a business owner? Do some research, some thinking, and decide for yourself but be sure that you understand all of the risks involved. When you’re on your own, the risks are greater, but so are the rewards!
Go read Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad Poor Dad” first and see if you are even interested in becoming an entrepreneur.
You can not at the same time be a full time office worker with $35,000 per year and on the side in your spare time make a fortune in a home based business. That’s not how it works.
There’s nothing inherently wrong or bad about web-based business. If you work hard at it, remain honest (to your customers and yourself) you’ll have an excellent chance of succeeding.
