Do jobs in the nonprofit sector pay less than jobs in the for-profit sector?
No. Jobs in the nonprofit sector can vary greatly in regard to pay. Because the nonprofit sector is really only defined by a specific tax code, the organizations and career fields that are classified as nonprofit vary greatly as does the salary range. The pay scale is completely dependent on the individual organization, just as in any other field.The Innovation Center is making real change in the way that foundations, youth organizations, and community groups do business. We don’t come in with a few preset ideas or programs and leave. We nurture small organizations and help bring their best practices to funders, academics and other nonprofit organizations. How do I post a job?
The best way to post a job is to visit our home page and click on “post to classifieds”, it’s located on the left-hand side of the page in the shaded area, then click “jobs.” From there, fill out our online form. The fee for posting a job ad is $75 per job and per category. Can the nonprofit sector really create jobs in the mainstream economy?
Yes and No! The marketplace creates employment opportunities with greater and lesser degrees of success. Nonprofit enterprise is not a panacea for poverty or a replacement for the operation of market forces.
