World of Warcraft Cooking Guide

by Brian Benson

World of Warcraft Cooking is definitely a great skill to learn, especially if you will combine it with a profession such as fishing. A fair amount of gold can be earned by cooking and it doesn’t require that much effort, making it more of a hobby than work for most players. This is a skill worthwhile to learn especially if you are the type who easily gets bored and wishes to change things a bit.

It was only after the Burning Crusade that a lot more opportunities have opened up, and people became interested in giving this profession a try. This may be another way to earn extra gold because you will be able to make some things that other players may need, and thus, have fun in the process

Starting Out

Fire is an important must-have once you have decided on cooking as a skill. Aside from this, you will need the following: Simple Wood, Flint, and Tinder. These items are relatively easy to find, so it should not be much of a problem to get them. Once you have all of the items, you have to open your Spellbook. Since most players know how to make a Basic Campfire, you don’t really need extra training at the moment.

Your cookbook could also be found in your Spellbook. You can open it up to refer to recipes you want to try. Do keep in mind that your fire would only be for a few minutes. As you have to purchase wood, it would be a great idea to only start fire when you are about to cook. Just click on the right ingredients required for each recipe and you would be cooking in a breeze.

Some recipes may require a few other items to complete. These can be purchased from a vendor. A sample recipe for Crocolisk Steak would require ingredients such as a Crocolisk Meat, and a set of mild spices. Thus, you may also go out and buy the ingredients on your own if you would wish.

Completing your apprenticeship now means that you are ready to move on. If you lack any items, you may purchase those from a cooking trainer, so you may have to use only a little a time at first. However, advancing and further questing can give you easier access to items you may need for your recipes.

Advancing

Since you won’t have everything you need to make more advanced recipes as you start out, let me show you a faster way to progress from level 1-375 without making too much effort. You will have to begin at Ironforge wherein you can purchase flour and one set of mild spices in order to make Spiced Bread, your first recipe. It is very easy and can easily help you advance to level 40. After which, you have to get 30 more mild spices and more wood. Once you have done that, go to Auberdine and find a Moonkin to kill. Continue to kill it until you have around 20 eggs or more. It’s a simple technique to easily get you to level 60.

You can then go south to Ashenvale where you will be able to find the Crawlers which will drop clams. Pick up as many as you can and then head back to Ironforge. Cook up the eggs that you got from the Moonkin and sell them. You’ll need to then find a cooking trainer and learn more skills so that you can cook the clams you found. By now, your skill level will be up to 130. Get the expert cookbook and you will be well on your way to getting up to 375.
