What Did My Great Grandma Have To Do With Affiliate Marketing?

by Alexander Bee

In 1850, my great grandmother’s parents came to California with their three sons and their youngest daughter. Her name was Mathilda and she was only 17 years old. Her family was among the hundreds of thousands Americans and foreigners who arrived to the Western state in hope of finding gold.

According to what my grandfather told my mother and my mother told me, Mathilda, almost single-handedly, discovered one of the richest gold mines in Sierra Nevada. My mother also told me that Mathilda engaged in a forbidden love affair with an older and married man, who subsequently fathered my great grandfather. But this is a different story altogether.

As you can probably imagine, Mathilda was a remarkable woman. The enormous wealth she had acquired in 1852 in California was totally lost by her grandson, my grandfather, in 1929 in New York, when the stock market crashed. Fortunately, she died in 1920 and was spared the heartbreak.

“Why is he telling me all this?” I can almost hear you asking yourself, “What does his grandmother Mathilda have to do with affiliate marketing?” Don’t lose your patience, my friend. You’ll understand in a minute.

Hundreds of thousands of people went to California in search of gold. The few ones that found it and became incredibly rich were those who seized the opportunity when it presented itself to them; second, they had the courage to take risks in pursuit of their dreams; and third, they had both the knowledge and the tools to go about it. Mathilda was one of them. Her legacy is true to this day: “He (or, in her case, She) who dares – conquers.”

This, my friend, is all there is to it. Affiliate marketing on the Internet is the Gold Rush of the 21st century. Don’t miss out on your chance to be one of the few. Take hold of the opportunity today, before it’s too late. If you want to fulfill your wish to strike gold, have courage, find the information and the tools, and go hunt it!

The Internet, although already so advanced and overwhelming, is still in its diapers. It is as California was in the middle of the 19th century, full of hidden gold. Only now, instead of a pan and a shovel and hard physical work, you can sit at home in front of your computer. Only the gold is the same precious gold. Anybody can do it, you too.

Now is the time. Don’t wake up 5 or 10 years from now regretting your failure to spot the occasion on time. Don’t forget Mathilda: “She who dares – conquers.”
