Restarting the computer in this case may be of some help, but it does not prevent it from occurring in the future. If you happen to get a blue screen and the computer won’t reboot try taking it into safe mode by pressing F8 when booting. If your computer goes into safe mode then it is probable problems with software or device drivers that are the culprit. Try rebooting your computer and press F8 again, this time instead of choosing safe mode, choose last known good configuration. This may get you back into windows. If it does, then you should download a registry fix utilities program, run it and fix any problems you might have with the registry.

If you continue facing the Blue Screen of Death, and you have installed a new software or hardware in the computer, then see to it if you can remove the software or the hardware device driver, which you could install again later on.

If this is not the case and you are still getting the blue screen of death then you are probably experiencing a hardware problem and it is probably best to call in a repair technician because it can be any number of things. It can be your power supply, your ram memory or even your motherboard.

Blue Screens were most frequent in Windows 95 and Windows 98, and are not so frequent in other windows, but when they occur, it is a real tiresome experience. Luckily, there is a solution to the erroneous Blue Screen of Death which saves the effort of buying a new computer.
