3 Reasons To Have Your Own Website
It’s never been simpler to to create a website. Here’s three reasons why you need to do it.
1. You want to sell something.
Ok, this should be obvious. If you need to market your product or service, you need to be online. Your competitors probably already are online, or will be soon. Your website can be your primary marketing vehicle, or complimentary to your existing system. Even if you only sell to local walk in traffic, a website will probably benefit you.
Exactly what type of site you need will depend upon your industry and how you sell. You may need a catalog-type site, with all of your products listed and available for sale. Maybe you need a place to list technical information: how-to manuals, frequently asked questions, or white papers.
Regardless, you can create it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. It’s up to you.
2. You have something to say.
Are you an opinionated person who has something to say? You’re not the only one. There are many people expressing their opinions online, and you can join them.
It doesn’t matter if it’s serious or playful fun; you’ve got a story to tell and there’s always room for your voice on the internet.
3. You need to prove your expertise.
Perhaps you are an employee and have nothing to sell directly, and don’t have any particular cause that you want to trumpet (or decry). But your career is important to you and you want to hold onto your job, get a promotion, or obtain a better job now or in the future.
What better way to prove your worth than to have your own site? You’ll be able to point to months or years of material that you have written. This will demonstrate that you are serious about your field.
Never before has it been simpler or more gratifying to have your own website.
