Texas Free Criminal Records

The access of public records such as birth, death, marriage and crimes are important as they contain vital information that is required in dealings with the government or any other company. Criminal records are important as they contain information or background of the person including any arrests made. The records are available by request through the official website or by emailing the person or office where the records are made available. Texas criminal records, for example, are available under the Public Information Act. The requests should all be made in writing, as telephone requests are not honoured. Information requests are also available by submitting the same to the site’s Public Information Request Page as well as sending email requests to the sites official email address at OGC.Webmaster@dps.texas.gov.

The State of Texas official website contains the necessary information to check the criminal records. The person requesting the information can access several search queries including checking for registered sex offenders in the state, checking for criminal history convictions, anti-auto theft programs, Recovery and Identification for farm owners and registration of metal recycle companies.

The Texas Public Sex Offender registry includes free search of sex offenders. The public is also allowed to download the registry. Criminal History Conviction search on the other hand is an online search query for the public for criminal records. Records are limited and depend on the particular records made available to the public. The T.R.I.P program is for commercial and farm owners to use to enter their property and equipment details to help the local enforcement agency track stolen equipment. The H.E.A.T program on the other hand deals with stolen vehicles.

To do a Criminal History Name Search, the Texas state provides the Conviction Database, which are records obtained from the DPS Computerized Criminal History System or CCH. The records that are available for research are those records that have received conviction or deferred adjudication. Records that can be searched include arrests, prosecutions and case dispositions of those arrested due to Class B misdemeanour.

To file for a request for criminal report, the person requesting should read the systematic guide presented by the State in CR63. Criminal records are under the Public Information Act of the US Law though failure to comply with the guide would leave the request unprocessed. Bear in mind that records that are allowed for the public are those records that have already received conviction or grants for adjudication. Requests may be made by email, mail or fax. Do remember to include all the pertinent details as well as the $10 fee for each request. The fee is accepted in money order or check form only.

People who want to check only basic information can do so by accessing free criminal records in the internet. The records are available from several search engines or websites that do offer public search query.
