Reddit And Car Videos Preferred By Man Who Outsourced His Own Job

Normally, when one hears about outsourcing, it means that a business is going to fire a bunch of people, hire brand new workers overseas for pennies and pay executives more. Reports of a man who outsourced his own job would normally seem outrageous but one guy really did it.

Male outsourced his own job and it’s not from The Onion

Some, particularly those who labor in tedious offices trades, have likely joked about outsourcing their own career, though they don’t mean typical outsourcing. Normally, outsourcing is where a company fires a lot of employees, hires a whole bunch of new employees overseas to do the same work and pays them next to nothing. Executives pocket the cash and talk about how innovative they are.

When people joke about outsourcing, they mean that they pay virtually nothing to get somebody else to do their jobs for them. According to BBC, this is not a joke, and one man has decided to do it.

The man’s identity is unknown, and he is referred to as “Bob,” but he outsourced his career. As a software developer, he paid a Chinese business to do anything for pennies.

Bob worked at a business as a software developer. The business noticed it was receiving a variety of stuff from China and decided to hire Verizon to assess the security in its network.

What they eventually discovered was that Bob, whoever he is, had employed a software consultancy in Shenyang, China, to work on his projects. He was by all accounts, until the discovery, a model employee, one of the best in the building and holding down a salary of several hundred thousand dollars per year. “His” work was timely and of high-quality.

An RSA token was used and shipped to China, according to PC Magazine. While at work, he was really looking at kitty video clips on YouTube, surfing the internet and purchasing things online. While at his desk, the Chinese contractors were logged in.

Was doing it for months

Apparently Bob used many different businesses to outsource to, but it only cost him $50,000 a year to do it. He was making hundreds of thousands, so that was not much in his mind. Bob might need loans to get by now that he wastes so much money rather than doing all the work himself.

It was definitely anticipated that Bob got terminated.
