Enroll in a culinary school or culinary college. There really is no replacement for what you can learn, and how you can learn, in the controlled environment. There are culinary schools all over the country and with a variety of different specialties. By attending a culinary school you will get a balanced and planed education that covers all aspects of running a professional kitchen.

When you are a chef you are responsible for everything in the kitchen. You need to plan and prepare the menu, supervise the kitchen staff and work in conjunction with the front of the house. The chef is the heart of the restaurant. It is a career filled with many challenges and many rewards.
