With so many handbags available, choosing one can be challenging. Just like any type of clothing, bags should fit your body type. One oft-mentioned rule is that your bag should flatter your body just like any apparel. That is, you should choose bigger bags with more structure if you are of a fuller figure, and find those that are more rounded and smaller if you are more slender. Shoulder bags are interesting in that they play up whatever body part it hangs closest to. Hence, if you have wide hips, find one that falls just around your mid-torso to take the focus off of the part you don’t want accentuated.

Similar to shopping for clothing, it is often recommended to check out the handbag first to see how it looks once you wear it. You should also do this even when buying online. If the product isn’t available in your area, read up on the product. Like clothing, bag trends are sure to change. Hence, one should not be easily carried away by what’s new and instead put a higher premium on its usability and durability.
