Storage space issues are the effect of people’s capability to buy items and objects that they want but do not really need. Moreover, there are business entrepreneurs who wish for additional space to store their goods safely and securely. So, the personal warehouse is a marvelous solution to the problem of storage space. But although a personal warehouse firm will inform you that you could keep anything and everything within your rented personal warehouse, restrictions still apply when it comes to particular items.

These prohibitions are composed for purposes of safety, not only of your own but also of the other tenants, the warehouse facility’s staff and personnel, the warehouse building, and of other buildings in the nearby surroundings.

If you are considering renting out a personal storage unit for keeping some of your personal belongings, you must be aware what objects could be kept in a personal warehouse and what items are prohibited. To be properly guided, you must consult the warehouse facility manager who can supply you with a detailed list of the objects that are not allowed in storage. As a reference, below are the most common classes of things that are prohibited inside personal warehouse units.

Objects that are categorized as inherently dangerous should not be kept in a personal storage facility. Some samples of this classification are kerosene lamps, motor oil, grease, fertilizers, paint, biological wastes, and/or items or substances that are combustible, biohazardous, toxic, or flammable. Furthermore, in accordance the rules of the authorities, stolen goods, illegal narcotics, contraband and smuggled goods must not be kept in personal storage. These items may be considered as evidence in case the tenant is arrested.

There are some warehouses that have freezer units available in order to accommodate perishable goods. Usually, however, perishable items and animal products are banned from being kept in a personal warehouse unit. Aside from the great possibility of spoilage, these goods also have the potential of drawing insects and/or pests. Thus, to avoid being inconvenienced or embarrassed, it would do well for you to consult the warehouse facility managers when you plan to place objects in your personal warehouse.
