The Rising Love For Miniature Works Of Art
Miniatures paintings have definite feature. They have distinct features in size, technique and subject. This kind of art started in the Western world by using illumination of manuscripts. The small portraits carry the art that is of angels and saints. Then they were followed by the ones with sceneries in the middle ages.
When the printing press came into being, manuscript artists started painting these small portraits and other like works for their private patrons but also most of these were seen being done for royalty. They were usually carried in bags or pockets of the owners just like the way people carry photos of their dear ones today.
Working with these miniatures need a very accurate and close detail but one can apply a number of materials and platforms to do the work for you properly. They are made of basic composition and a range of colors to choose from so you can make the right decision.
These works of art have a standard size of 5×7 inches or less, which includes the frames too. The very large ones measure up to 11×14 inches.
Sometimes you find some experts who give no thought to the issue of sizes as they seek to just go by the miniature factor. So it means that so long as they are dealing with any size that is smaller than life size, they would work on it. That would even include works such as murals.
They are very common now for various reasons, like they can be hung on walls in apartments as well as offices. They are really useful and look wonderful on decorating walls as a unique design when they are grouped together as a method of designing the interiors. Large pictures have found their match in these miniatures.
They are also more affordable when compared to the cost of buying large original paintings. People would rather spend money on buying several miniatures that are original paintings at less cost; instead of getting one large work of art.
Then another creative way of using these original miniature art is to decorate shelves, coffee tables, fireplace mantles and so on. They are great for decorating homes plus they are just wonderful gift items for dear ones, colleagues, clients, and employees, not to say new homeowners.
