In the UK today, industry couldn’t function properly without the help of support workers fixing computers and advising users on a day to day basis. The need for more qualified personnel grows as we become ever more dependent on computers in the modern world.<\/p>\n

Prior to embarking on a specific training programme, trainees are advised to discuss their career requirements with a skilled advisor, in order to be sure their course covers everything they’re going to need. <\/p>\n

CompTIA A+ Computer Training covers four specialised areas – you need to pass exams in two of these areas to be considered A+ competent. Because of this, most colleges only offer two of the training options, but we think this is selling you short – sure, you can pass an exam, but experience of all four will give you a distinct advantage in industry, where you’ll need to know about all of them. <\/p>\n

So look for a course that trains you in all of the areas. Then because you only need to pass two of the exams to get your A+, you take the compulsory Essentials exam, and select one of your choice from the other three. <\/p>\n

Move Into IT With A+ Computer Training…<\/p>\n

For those students embarking on IT studies and exams for the first time, it’s often a good idea to break yourself in gently, by working on a user skills course first. This can be built into an A+ package.<\/p>\n

Once on the A+ Computer training course you will learn how to build, fix, repair and work in antistatic conditions. Fault finding and diagnostic techniques through hands on and remote access are also covered. <\/p>\n

You may also want to consider adding the CompTIA Network+ training as it will enable you to look after networks of computers, which is where the bigger salaries are.<\/p>\n

People attracted to this sort of work are usually very practical, and don’t always take well to classrooms, and poring through books and manuals. If this is putting you off studying, go for more modern interactive training, where you can learn everything on-screen.<\/p>\n

Courses are now available in disc format, where everything is taught on your PC. Through video streaming, you can watch instructors demonstrating how to do something, then you have a go yourself in an interactive lab. There are testing modules for you to check your understanding, and practice exams so the real thing isn’t scary.<\/p>\n

Support for students is a must – look for a package that includes 24\/7 direct access to instructors, as anything less will frustrate you and hamper your progress. Avoid message systems with advisors calling back in office hours.<\/p>\n
