The Cisco training is designed for students who wish to understand and work with routers. Routers connect networks of computers to other networks of computers over the internet or dedicated lines.

This qualification will lead to the sort of jobs where you’re more likely to work for national or international companies that are geographically spaced but need regular communications. The other likelyhood is being employed by an internet service provider. This career path is well paid and in demand.

When training for this type of work it’s important to have an understanding of networking. The reality is – when working in this role you’ll need to know if it’s the router or the network that’s creating the challenge.

We would recommend a tailored course that will add in the nessesary skills prior to starting your training in Cisco skills.

If this is your first step into the world of routers, then qualifying up to the CCNA level is all you need at this stage – don’t be pushed into attempting your CCNP. Get some experience behind you, then you’ll know if it’s relevant for you to train to the next level up. If it is, you’ll be much more capable to succeed at that stage – as your experience will help you greatly!

How you are to be trained could be the difference between pass and fail. The most effective way is video tutorials, followed by demonstrations and interactive labs where you can practice what you’ve just learned. Watch and listen, demonstrate and then practice is now scientifically proven to be the easiest and most natural way for us to learn and doesn’t involve poring through boring technical manuals. It also improves our information recall.

You will also need a 24/7 support package – if you need help, it’s on tap. If necessary you can discuss your problem with a tutor in the middle of the night and they’ll solve your challenge there and then.

Nearly all training companies claim to offer 24/7 support, Take note it is often not what you expect. In reality it’s usually a message system out of office hours with a call back in the next few days, usually in office hours. How is that going to work if you intend to study alongside a job?

About the Author:

Author: Scott Edwards life has revolved around Computers and Training for 30 yrs.
