Retraining UK wide falls into several different areas. Before taking any decisions, look at why you’re considering going in another direction.<\/p>\n

Maybe you suffer from frustration and boredom at work. Perhaps you’re looking for more challenges, or a less stressful environment. Do you feel persecuted and under-valued in your job, and possibly taken advantage of? Is the industry you work in slowing down?<\/p>\n

Maybe you have to work anti-social hours, or don’t earn enough money for your needs. It could be you just don’t like it or need a change, or maybe deep-down you know you haven’t found what you want to do yet. <\/p>\n

To make a change requires action, but by reading this you’re taking the first step. Actually doing something new can be quite scary, but rest assured you’re walking on a well trodden path.<\/p>\n

Having decided that retraining is of interest to you, the next thing to look at is what career would you like to get into. <\/p>\n

Here are some questions to be thinking about:<\/p>\n

* Is extra income important to you?<\/p>\n

* Do you expect to retrain into a lifelong career?<\/p>\n

* Is finding a new job quickly an important factor in retraining?<\/p>\n

*Are you looking for a skill that’s in demand nationwide, and not just in small pockets of the country?<\/p>\n

We mention these points because they’re typical things that most people we speak to are looking for. Despite that, many don’t think of them all before choosing a new career path. Avoid the common mistake of selecting a training course for a limiting career. <\/p>\n

So, answering our questionnaire, we’ll make the assumption that an ideal retraining programme should lead to a career with above average pay, employment up to retirement age, and a great skill shortage. It should also have job opportunities throughout the UK.<\/p>\n

When you fully understand what you want out of a new career, you can really fine tune the optimum role for you. The best way to do this is to speak to a training advisor with knowledge of the job on a day to day basis. It’s sometimes surprising how little we know until we do this.<\/p>\n
