Are you researching the Melaleuca MLM home based business opportunity to see whether or not it is a scam? This article will present you with an unbiased review of the company and its opportunity.

1) Melaleuca Home Business

Melaleuca is a wellness based company with its world headquarters located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Melaleuca offers a home business opportunity by selling or marketing their products through MLM or multi-level marketing.

2) Products

The Melaleuca product line consists of many different types of products. They include homecare, personal care, and nutritional supplements. Many of Melaleuca’s products are all natural and are designed to help with a person’s overall wellness in mind. Some examples given by people that have consumed Melaleuca products include statements of relief from headaches, arthritis, and inflammation based symptoms.

3) Compensation Plan

Melaleuca operates with a multi-level, open-ended matrix comp plan. Just as it sounds, one of the issues with this plan is that it is difficult for people to understand. Another issue is that it can promote laziness. For instance, if there is one person who is working extremely hard and bringing a lot of people into the business and placing them under their team members, those members will then earn a small commission check. This is called “spillover” and is something to be extremely grateful for in the MLM industry. However, when some team members receive it for doing nothing, they assume that no work is necessary to build their network marketing business. Therefore, while some do well with matrix comp plans, many will struggle.

In closing, Melaleuca appears to have a good product line. However, the compensation plan is challenging. The plan is confusing and is not as user friendly as many other MLM opportunities. In the network marketing industry, it is vital to not only have a great product line but also an easily understandable and workable pay plan.
