Windows 7 is worth the wait. That’s what Microsoft and prominent developers are telling the masses whenever they are asked about the upcoming Microsoft operating system which is said to better target consumer needs than Windows Vista did.

A beta of Windows 7 was announced to be released by Microsoft in the beginning of 2009 to the general public who then have the opportunity to test the product, report bugs and gain a first impression which will surely influence the decision to buy or not to buy the new operating systme.

Everyday tasks are being made easier, such as browsing the web or writing a simple text document. Microsoft claims that they are working to allow users to perform actions on their computers that were impossible before. They ensure that Windows 7 will work on any computer by the time the development is finished.

Compatibility was a big consumer complaint when Windows Vista first appeared on the market. Microsoft confirmed that all programs running on Windows Vista will also run on Windows 7.

Microsoft claims that Windows 7 will be the best software yet, with new and improved capabilities available for every consumer need. Windows 7 will be the seventh operating system released from Microsoft, which has evolved from the original 3.5 Windows system. With improvements continuing through Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, and Vista, this new operating system will bring in exciting change.

The amount of new features that will be made available in Windows 7 is not huge at this point. Microsoft has made a few announcements like integrated touch support or new interfaces for the taskbar or desktop but nothing that would be considered a “killer” application or feature.

A beta version of Windows 7 is said to come out at the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009 which will also be the time when Microsoft begins gathering consumer data for reliability and stability tests of the new operating system.

The Operating System seems promising as development furthers. With claims of past problems being fixed, as well as improvements made and new capabilities added, Windows 7 is likely to be the best Microsoft product yet.
