The first shipping box came into existence back in April 26, 1956. On this faithful day, the first successful shipment was made, from New Jersey to Houston. It took five days for the shipment to reach its destination, and the delivery consisted of 58 truck bodies. Ever since this day, shipping flourished and was considered a leading enterprise. Shipping boxes in different sizes and shapes also appeared and were sent to different parts of the world.<\/p>\n

Since people transport almost any kind of object, shipping boxes now comes in various kinds, to suit any kind of package. There are many popular types used today.<\/p>\n

The corrugated shipping box is widely used. It is a box that is pre-cut, purchased as a sheet and folded neatly into a box. This type of shipping box can be used to transport fragile thinks in bulk. For example, glasses, plates and vases. It is also used to transport fruit and produce without spoiling them. Aside from its many shipping uses, the corrugated box is also recyclable and a good source of fibre.<\/p>\n

Some packages are very large and very heavy. What you need for these are heavy-duty shipping boxes that will sufficiently handle and support the weight. Shipping boxes like these can carry packages weighing 275 pounds or more. For items like heavy books and dumbbells, these would certainly work.<\/p>\n

Specialty boxes, such as computer boxes, are also popular among many people. Made especially for electronic devices, these boxes provide special protection to their contents, so they won’t be damaged even when being shipped. Specialty boxes have a unique structure within, creating extra protection for the things inside. They often have suspension inserts. This is a box cut-out, fitted perfectly on the content and placed inside the box. The suspension inserts prevents the items from making too much movement.<\/p>\n

There are numerous other boxes made for shipping. Other popular examples include moving boxes, storage file boxes and a lot more.<\/p>\n
