In tube deburring, it is a process of removing the burrs and other unwanted protrusions in tubes and pipes. In most cases, the process requires the aid of a tool known as the tube deburring machine.

Often, these tube deburring machines have specific sets of wire brushes. Each brush is designed to remove the burrs from various materials like iron, stainless steel, plastic, steel, and aluminum. They are specially designed to effectively remove dirt and rough edges from oval, round, or other irregularly shaped tubes and pipes in just a short period of time. These machines also effectively smooth off the edges of various surfaces that have been caused by most cutting procedures.

In most tube deburring, the process start with squaring the end of the tube concentric to the inner and outer edges. Remember that the chamfer must not exceed half of the tube’s wall thickness during deburring. Tubes and pipes have two types of burrs: cold and hot formed burrs. Cold-formed burrs are the most convenient and easiest to deburr. However, hot-formed burrs are the hardest to remove. This is because they have more material mass. More mass can deplete the deburring process. Also, heated and then cooled burrs are even difficult to smooth off.

There are two types of burrs. These are the cold-formed and hot-formed burrs. The cold-formed burrs are the easiest to handle and remove while hot-formed ones are typically more difficult to deburr. This is because hot-formed ones have more mass, meaning more time to deburr. Usually, hot-formed burrs wear down brushes over time.

Take note that there are requirements for the services. They will define the type of tube machine to be used. Generally, they include stock material used, tube lengths, end condition needed for the cut part, production rate requirements.

About the Author:

Tube Deburring involves processes that remove burrs and other unwanted protrusions from tubes and pipes. keep reading this article for more Deburring Facts

Deburring is the process of smoothing out rough edges and surfaces or burrs of various materials.
