This new industry buzzword refers to producing a DVD as it is purchased which eliminates the need to carry an inventory. This process can only be accomplished using a duplication system as opposed to a replication machine which stamps the discs from a glass master. The replication process can not be taken on the road and requires large manufacturing facilities.

When you are conduct a live event, as people who attended the event are leaving, they are typically in a buying mood for event related material. You can capture the event via a live stream into a production trailer, then the minute the event ends, start duplicating a video on DVD of the event they just attended and have a packaged DVD of the event ready for the attendees as they start to exit the event.

The concept of live event capturing allows the event promoters to trigger the impulse buy pattern of event attendees as they are leaving the event. This is increasingly becoming more popular with sporting events and marketing or training seminars.

To capture a live event, the following takes place:

1. The event is captured by either recording equipment or live broadcast feed and streamed to the production booth.

2. Depending on the event, the stream can be authored as it’s being streamed so that on conclusion of the event, it can be finalized very quickly.

3. Within minutes of the events ending, banks of duplication systems are already duplicating the DVD of the event. In most cases, the blank discs are preprinted prior to the event and packaging is ready so that on completion of the duplication process, the disc can be packaged and ready for sale all within 10 minutes of the event ending.

Mediatechnics and the Live Network are a premiere provider of live conference duplication.

About the Author:

If a conference or event is coming up for your business, and you would like to explore live event services, check out Mediatechnics: Live Event DVD Production

I’m sure you have heard the term DVD on Demand.
