Wouldn’t it be cool to create abstract art? Want to create a mysterious lady that is fire, follow these step by stepy instructions: Start by opening an image of a model in an interesting pose. Create path surrounding her body using pen tool in path mode. Ctrl+Enter the path to get the selection. Hide the image layer. Create a new layer and fill with a solid yellow color. Select gradient tool. Create a gradient. Duplicate the layer. Enable lock transparency pixels form the layer palette. Select multiply as gradient mode from the options bar at top. Apply the gradient several times. Change the layer mode to “Linear Light”. Duplicate layer. From “Filter” menu select “Liquify”. Select forward warp tool and apply on this layer from down to upwards to create an effect of flames. Change the layer mode to “Pin Light”. Select the background layer. Apply the same gradient that we used in the lady silhouette on the background layer. From “Filter” menu select “Render>>Difference Clouds”. Reapply this filter a number of times. Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Duplicate the layer. Change the layer mode to “Linear Light”.

Okay, start out with a picture of a speaker. Now, select the base speaker on the bottom. Now, while you have that selected press Ctrl-c and make a new layer above that then press Ctrl-f and you will have your selection on a new layer, now you need to duplicate that layer two times by pressing Ctrl-j two times, once you have done that select your first duplicated layer (the one right above your original) and name that one Side, do the same for the one above it except name that one Up.Now select the Side layer and apply Filter> Blur> Motion blur and these settings Angle: 0 Distance: 15px Do the same for the Up layer except apply these settings Angle: 90 Distance 15px Now, to switch to imageready you will need push this button at the bottom of this panel in photoshop. Now, in imageready we will open up the animation panel, to do that you need to go into Window> Animation, the animation panel will now be shown. Okay, in the animation panel select the first frame, and at the bottom of the thumbnail you will see a thing like this 0 sec. then a little black arrow pointing down, click once one the 0 sec. dropdown menu, then you will see some stuff like: No delay, o.1, o.2 etc. Select the 0.1 seconds button. Now, in the animation panel push the new frame button, it looks just like the button in your layer panel. You will see it has copied the first frame, now select the second frame and change the speed to: 0.2After you have done that (make sure your on the second frame in the animation panel) hide layer: base speaker and show layers: up and side. Now, hit play on the animation panel to watch your animation.

The basics of photoshop, well one major thing is learning how to save your picture history. Start by opening a file you’ve been working on or create a new file. Then go to Edit > Preferences > General. Check off “History Log”. You then have three options to choose from. I will describe what each of them do. To begin, let’s choose “Metadata”. You then have three options with the “Edit Log Items”. Start working on your file by creating layers, adding fills or gradients, using filters, etc. Then go to File > File Info > History. Notice how it keeps track of each step you take. Save this file and close it. Then open it back up again. Notice that the history is still there! Let’s look at the second option for the history log. Go to Edit > Preferences > General. Choose “Text File” this time and save the file to a folder of your choice. I chose to save mine to the desktop. Again, work on your file by creating layers, adding fills or gradients, using filters, etc. Now go to wherever you saved your text file and open it. Notice that it keeps track of each step you take! The final option for the history log is “Both”. This option saves your steps in both the History section as well as the text file. So there you have it. Three different ways to save every step you take during a design process without losing the information when closing the file. Enjoy!

When you are creating a brush you can save and delete it, heres how: To Save Modified Brush Preset: After you make a modification to you brush shape or brush dynamic, you can save brush by do one of following using Brush Palette. Using Brush Palette Menu and select New Brush Preset. Click New button at bottom Brush Palette. If you use Small Thumbnail or Large Thumbnail you can click at empty area (your cursor will turn to indicate you can click to save the brush). To Delete Brush Preset. You can delete unwant brush by do one of following option: Select brush you want to delete and select Brush Palette Menu and select Delete Brush. Select brush you want to delete and click Trash Button Select brush you want to delete Right Click or Control + Click (for MacOS) and select Delete Brush.

Do you want to recolor this white rose into a red one. It is quite easy, start by opening the image you want to recolor. Then choose the color you would want on your image. I took a dark red color. After that you choose a hard 70px or so brush. Make a new layer and choose linear burn as the blending mode. Leave opacity at 100%. Start brushing but leave the small details for now… Now choose a small 10px or so hard brush and start brushing details. Still not perfect though. Let’s use a little blur by going to Filters > Blur > Blur more around 3 times to fix the hard edges.After that add some noise. Go to Filter > Noise > Add noise and do 2,50% Gaussian with Monochromatic noise checked.

When using photoshop it can be quite amusing to mess around with all the settings. One fun idea is to create a honeycomb that is quite realistic. Start by taking a new file of 400 pixels 400 pixels of resolution 72 dpi in the RBG mode Go to the Filter>Render>Clouds. Then go to the Filter>Stained Glass use these settings. And now go to Filter>Artistic>Plastic Wrap use the following settings. Now add some color press Cntl+U use these settings. Your image should be look like this. And now double click on your background layer then cilick ok as shown image below. Make the copy of layer1. And now finally you can change the Blending Mode Linear Burn.

Ever wondered how to create an oil painting effect to a picture, well heres how: Click on Filter > Distort > Glass and apply the following settings to your photograph. Distortion — 2 Smoothness — 5 Texture — Canvas Scaling: — 75% Next, click on Filter > Artistic > Paint Daubs and apply the following settings to your photograph. Brush Size — 2 Sharpness — 4 Brush Type — Simple Go to Filter > Brush Strokes > Angled Strokes and apply the following settings to your photograph. Direction Balance — 18 Stroke Length — 4 Sharpness — 2 In this last step, you want to click on Filter > Texture > Texturizer and apply the following settings to your photograph. This creates the appearance that your painting was done on canvas. To do this, we’re going to go: Texture — Canvas Scaling — 65% Relief — 6 Light Direction — Top Right. Since every photograph is different, you can slightly tweak the Photoshop filter settings above to suit your photograph or taste.

While you are creating e-books, it’s important to write a quality e-book. Thin, skimpy e-books aren’t effective – you want something meaty to offer your readers. A truly great e-book is filled with information, with enough bulk to keep your audience satisfied.

Skinny e-books that have little information are often returned, eating away at your profits. On the other hand, an e-book with strong content increases reader satisfaction, which means more profits and fewer refunds. You want to offer a strong, beefy e-book, one that is loaded with value for your clients. So how can you put your PDF e-books on steroids for better performance? Read on, and I’ll show you!

To start, add a table of contents (TOC). This helps your readers to find the information that they want, while adding two or three pages to the total length of your document. Not only is a TOC valuable to your readers, it’s easy to create one – most word processing programs can generate one automatically.

Second, add a list of resources in the back. All of the web sites, blogs and forums you visited to research your ebook should be put in a resources section in the back. You can also put all of the print books that you find helpful as well. Face it. There are tons of resources dealing with the topic of your ebook that you know and your customers don’t. List those and you will provide a valuable service for them.

By using your imagination, you can find lots of information to add to your resources, including reference material found on or in:

– List of books on your topic

– List of magazines on your topic

– Videos and movies on YouTube and other sources;

– Web sites;

– User forums and user groups; Blogs (your own or those of others);

For each link, include a short description of the resource to help your readers further. Tell them what information they can find using that link, and how it can help them. This adds more value than a simple list of links, with no rhyme or reason.

How PHP Developers Differentiate Between Print And Echo

PHP is a highly robust language- one that has attracted web developers from all across the world to take place in the web application craze that’s been raging. Getting the most out of the language means understanding it- and something most developers don’t know is simple things such as the difference between Echo and Print.

Echo and Print are both commands used to display something to the browser. Both are used in similar structure, and both are identical in output. So what, then, is the use for having two commands that appear to do the exact same thing?

Print is actually something more of a function, as it can be enclosed in brackets. Echo lacks this ability, but then again, there is almost never a need to do so. In reality, having this ability is something that even those who have seen it all in PHP likely won’t need to make use of. This just adds more confusion to the topic than what was previously apparent.

While performance may be a big issue for PHP developers and their clients, the debate between Print and Echo is actually fairly meaningless. It is true that Print will take more system resources to use, but it is such a minimalistic amount that developers are recommended to choose the construct of their choice, regardless of speed issues.

So far the industry standard has been to use Echo, but it should be stressed that either command may be used at will. Echo seems to be the favorite as it is easier to type, not to mention it’s a fun word to say! Those who favor the Print command are usually older programmers, who are accustomed to using the command Print from other programming languages that are now considered archaic.

Even though speed should always be an issue, it’s important to focus one’s attention not on selecting a language construct for printing- but rather how they use it. Too often developers will use multiple Print or Echo calls, only to organize their code. But this can drastically degrade performance if enough calls are made, so it’s recommended to choose the language construct of one’s choice- but use it wisely.

Final Thoughts

End the end, the battle between Echo and print is never ending. The trends do seem to show that Echo is much more popular, but with little reasons. The speed benefit is so small that it’s negligible- especially among faster systems that technology has produced where such effects go unnoticed. And because many books and online publications stick true to the Echo command, it’s likely we’ll only be seeing more of it as time goes on, and less of the fabled Print command that older generations have favored.

Lately, we’ve talked about ways to write a better PDF ebook. PDF e-books can be bulked up with a list of resources and a table of contents, which increases customer satisfaction. Now that you’ve added those, let’s look at other ways to make your readers happy, which increases sales and prevents returns and refunds.

Make sure that all your text is 12-point – Times New Roman is a good choice for long blocks of text. Pictures and graphics should be enlarged so they can be easily read. Adding comics and other graphics will make your ebook more visually appealing. All these steps add bulk to your ebook, while increasing its value to your readers.

Include “Johnson boxes” to enclose important points in boxes that are separate from the rest of the text. By including one every two or three pages, you help your customers understand which information is most important – that adds weight to your document.

Next, tell the reader about your other products. This is one of the greatest reasons to publish an ebook – to lead readers to your other products. So put a list of your other products in the back with clickable links. Make sure to include 3D cover shots which will increase the size of your ebook and cause more sales at the same time. It’s very easy to create a 3D version of your cover…or you can have someone else do it.

Include cheat sheets and checklists for your customers – they really love it! If your topic has more than two or three steps, consider a checklist. It’s a great way to convey information, especially on technical topics (using a digital camera; interview tips; great tips for buying a new home). Cheat sheets and checklists make this information easy to follow, increasing value for your readers.

Are there other tools that could help your readers? Some things to consider include sample forms, spread sheets, contracts, and more. Your customer simply fills in the blanks. These can be important additions when you are writing an ebook.

These simple tips will add meat to your e-book. By adding value to your product, you will have happier customers, healthy sales, and fewer returns. To your customers, it’s all about the value – give ’em what they want, and your product will be a success.
