A Review On Fling: The Easiest FTP Client

by Chris Channing

One gem of the Internet most don’t know about is the Fling FTP client. No, the Fling FTP client isn’t at all related to a short termed relationship or even the act of hurling something- it’s a revolutionary FTP client that is being released as freeware. This completely free software, as most will see, can even compete with the paid competitors.

The creators of Fling FTP wanted to make a robust program that could be used on the go, and with little extras that would hinder the speed of the program. They successfully came up with a solution that binded itself to the Windows Explorer to give fast access to FTP commands. In effect, one only has to right click a file and send it to its destination- compare that to starting up a program and reading a manual just to send a file!

Fling takes security topics into mind quite carefully. Those who have been around since the dawn of the Internet will remember that FTP clients used to use passwords that were unencrypted- and anyone over a network could simply steal the password with ease. Fling remedies this by using SSL- a secure connection that encrypts such confidential credentials.

Another aspect of Fling that makes it unique is the fact that it can connect to a local area network, or what is called a LAN, to transfer files. It’s hard to say the same about other FTP clients- even the ones that require payment to use! Obviously, Fling is great for system administrators who know what they are doing and what they need to run a stable network.

The FTP client is going to be ready for Windows systems back from Windows 98 up until Windows Vista. The Vista operating system in particular was a threat to the Fling client, since Vista has new architecture to work with. Thankfully the crew at Fling FTP made all of the necessary additions and improvements to keep the free software open for Vista users too.

Since the Fling FTP client is going to be for Windows based systems, Windows users can obtain the free software under both ZIP and EXE extensions. If the user doesn’t have a ZIP archival tool, they can use the one built into most versions of Windows. Otherwise, they can opt for the straight EXE file- although this will be a larger download as it isn’t going to be compressed via ZIP.

Closing Comments

Fling, as we can very well see, has too many benefits to pass up. The most nominal would of course be that it is completely free- and who can pass up a free FTP client? If the required space is met and one is running a Windows system, they are set to download the client and get started immediately.

Easy Ways To Get Cheap Auto Loans

by Chris Channing

Rates for auto loans have become outrageous in recent years. Even with a slightly positive credit score, rates on auto loans can easily end up costing almost 1/4 the total price of a vehicle over the course of the auto loan. Consumers shouldn’t have to settle, and knowing what to do as an alternative is the only way to bypass such unfair rates.

The first way to help bring interest rates down is to put down a fairly large amount of money down for the vehicle. Even with this fact, it can be quite hard to get a desirable interest rate with as much as half of the vehicle paid off. Yet nevertheless, it’ll help bring down the term of the loan as well- which will likewise bring total costs down with it.

A personal tip to always keep in mind is that when the auto dealer presents monthly payment plans, the buyer should always choose the lowest payment plan first. This is going to let the consumer pay as much as they want each month, as most lenders aren’t going to have early payback penalties. This tactic might not work if the buyer is going to get benefits for higher payments each month, or if payback penalties do indeed exist.

Credit is something that many younger adults won’t have. Thus, they should build credit if they don’t want to spend massive amounts of money each month on interest rates. This may require that they purchase a used vehicle that is cheaper, but the overall outcome is going to be more favorable since they are building their credit line in the process of getting a cheaper car.

Consumers should be wary of car dealers that promise low rates, but then turn around and regretfully inform the consumer that the loan was denied or they need more money each month. This tactic is used among car salesmen to get consumers hooked on low rates, and then force them to pay more if they want to go through with the deal. If car salesmen demand something consumers don’t like, it’s best to walk away.

It should never be forgotten that many lenders exist- not just a couple or even those that exist in one’s immediate area. If a proper lender can’t be found, the hopeful borrower should consult the Internet for more options. Borrowing from friends or family is also an option should consumers have close relationships to those who are wealthy. Whatever the case, there are alternatives to crazy interest rates.

Closing Comments

The best advice is going to come from friends and family members who have dealt with autos and insurance before. It’s recommended that if nothing is found among friends and family, the Internet and local sources be used to find the best deal possible.

What Will I Be Asked?

by Ray James

In any interview, you should be ready to answer all questions to the best of your ability and with a high degree of self-confidence. Whilst the answers to the questions are important, what the interviewer is often looking for is how you answer the questions. Therefore, it is extremely important that your answers are able to reflect positively how you feel. The answers should be to the point and not overly-winded.

Ensure that any answers you give are short and on the topic. Whilst they are short, they must also be complete, ?stand alone? answers and must satisfy the interviewer entirely. If your answer for some reason does not satisfy the interviewer, try to clarify your position only whilst on the topic. Most times, if the interviewer is not satisfied with your answer he/she will ask another question to gain further information. If this does happen, concentrate on the new question.

Some questions are very nearly always asked in an interview. For these questions, you should be well prepared. These questions will mostly focus on topics such as your skills or experience. Even if you prepare your possible answers in advance, the language should appear simple and causal. It should seem as though your answer is spontaneous. Most interviewers in these situations test the aspirants for their quick thinking and that ability to formulate answers under pressure and this is depicted in the answers that you give to the interviewers during this part of the interview. Answers that are spontaneous and well thought out will always be viewed favourably. It is possible that you may be asked questions about a previous job and the colleagues you worked with whilst with that company. Always be positive when answering such questions. Never raise negative issues about the previous company as your answers to these questions will be used to test your ability to form positive relationships with the colleagues of the new company and it will reflect upon your interpersonal skills and ability to work in well with others.

You may have to answer questions relating to your previous job and maybe even about past colleagues. When you are answering such questions, always be positive. Never complain or express negative opinions about the previous company and your colleagues as these questions are asked as an instrument to test your relations with the colleagues of the new company. These answers also reflect your interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.

You may be posed with some questions where your honest opinion will prove beneficial even though it may be a possible distraction to the interviewer. One example of this is that the interviewer may enquire as to whether you are trying for other positions. A short and honest answer should go in your favour.

Bear in mind that you may be faced with some questions where your honest opinion will be the best choice even though it may be little distracting for the interviewer. You may be asked whether you have applied for other positions. Be honest and brief in your answer and it should not cause much distraction. Some answers will require a degree of knowledge about the particular company. Be prepared with suitable facts and data about the company.

One tricky question asked in an interview is one regarding salary expectations. You should never attempt to answer this question directly; instead you should state that it would depend upon the job?s responsibilities. As an alternative, you can ask the interviewer the approximate range offered for that position as a counter question.

If you are an experienced person in the field, it is likely the interviewer will ask about the skills you possess and your experience in using these skills. It is advisable to have a prepared example for your answer.

4 Steps to Delivering a Powerful Speech Introduction

by James Malinchak

You may be nervous at first when you’re a public speaker and you are about to deliver that opening speech. It’s a natural human reaction. The mark of a trained public speaker is however, one who can overcome that nervousness and create a speech that the audience will remember for a lifetime.

Providing a great speech introduction is your goal as a public speaker. If you don’t create one, you’ll be lost before you can even begin. There are 4 steps of speech introductions that will help you produce the kind of speech that your audience will learn from and be glad they came.

Acting like a coach is your first step. You won’t present your material like normal speakers do if you present yourself as a coach to your audience. By acting like a coach, you present yourself as a person with something vital to say that will benefit your audience. You need to gear your introduction so you present your material in this way.

Stating that you have something vital to say that you will need for them to take home is the second step. Provide samples of your work so your audience can pick up on or more as they leave the room. Making a point about something you have written or done, and emphasizing to your audience that if they follow what you’ve done will make them successful is a great example of an introduction speech.

Just remembering people are decisive by nature is the third step. They will decide quickly, whether it be buying something or listening to something. It is your choice whether or not what you deliver in your speech is what they came to hear. It is vitally important that your audience understand that nothing else matters but what you have to say.

If you wonder how to start a speech, talk to experts in the field. Many successful speakers use a signature opening to help them overcome nervousness, and get the audience involved immediately. As a speaker in training, you need to develop a signature opening. This will help make your speech introduction powerful and on target every time you give it.

Like stated before, public speaking is a skill that takes time and needs to be developed. You’re not going to become a successful speaker overnight, it takes time. You have to develop the ability to become one by learning the trade and practicing your delivery. By following in the footsteps of the experts who did it before you, you’ll find yourself doing it as well. You’ll be an expert public speaker too before you know it.

The History of Web Hosting

by Matt Hedges

Many people may not be remember life without the internet but it was only back in 1990 when web hosting came to life as this was when Tim Berners Lee developed the initial program for the web. This was followed by a variety of programs and soon companies were developing web hosting services of their own and this has created the modern environment where there is a huge level of growth in hosting web sites. Web hosting may seem like a familiar term but before 1991, this term was unheard of, which means so was the internet. If you would like to study the growth of the internet, a great place for research is the internet itself which shows you how far it has developed. Recent decades has seen an explosion in technological advances and after the radio and television products, the internet is probably the next biggest. Bear in mind there are over 50 million websites on the internet and think what you would look at if you didn’t have websites to view.

The Erstwhile Web Hosting Period

It was back in August of 1962 when J.C.R. Licklider of MIT introduced the ideas that went onto form the internet. Licklider created a lot of articles regarding the future and one of his main topics was about the Galactic Network which was based on millions of computers linked to each other providing information of many people to benefit from. The next step for Licklider was to take a trip to the Advanced Research Project Agency [ARPA] which was the computer science project offered at MIT. When there, Licklider attempted to wow and detail the benefits that would come from networking and linking computers together.

It is always interesting to be aware of the political background at the time and ARPA was developed at the same time as NASA. After the Russians launched Sputnik, their artificial satellite, there was a huge need for the Americans to keep pace with their Soviet counterparts. The first form of computer networking came through packet switching, which enabled data to be transferred as tiny packages through telephone lines which was a huge improvement over the previous form of utilizing circuit lines that were solid. A great benefit was that this connection was busy only when information was passing through and this helped to free up room to allow the computer to undertake additional tasks. Paul Baran invented the Hot Potato network design when he was trying to create a package that would ensure telecommunication data to be passed in the event of a nuclear war. This design was to play a major role in the development of the internet.

Following on from this, was the process that allowed computers to talk back and forth to each other and there is no doubt that 1991 was a pivotal year for the development of the internet. It was already around before then but this year was the base for the internet to grow into much bigger things. A major step came when the National Science Foundation] NSF] made a judgment that the web restrictions that prohibited commercial activity should be lifted. This changed everything and resulted in much more scope and possibilities for the internet. What is now known as e-commerce was born and a whole host of companies who foresaw the benefits the internet would bring came rushing in behind. It was at the tail-end of 1991 that WWW or the World Wide Web started to be used by CERN and it incorporated Hyper Text Markup Language [HTML.] HTML was developed by Tim Berner Lee and it was linked to the website address or it’s Uniform Resource Locator [URL.] That’s a whole of abbreviations to learn but it is now synonymous with the location of addresses for websites and the World Wide Web.

Although its early use may have been mainly benefited by computer and technologically minded people, the internet was soon to spread to the general public, greatly assisted by its simplistic methods. Of course, as the internet grew, complexities followed but it was offering many new benefits and the business world was not slow in predicting a positive future nor was it slow in cashing in on it.

As the internet was starting out, it was expensive to host a web site but this is no longer the case but although it has gotten cheaper, it is still very difficult for some to use. There is no doubt that renting server space has now become a major business and it is true that there are as many firms offering services to host web sites as there are providing internet access. As computers have evolves, so has the internet. Equally, the business world has developed at a greater pace with the addition of web host providers and computers.

Statistics claim that today there are 35,000+ businesses which host 100+ websites on their server. Due to the increase in competition, the industry is seeing a huge growth. In fact, as you read this, 100’s of companies have already been added to the list. The first program for the WWW was of a hypertext editor which was executed in the NeXT machine. A line mode browser was used at that point of time, designed by Nicola Pellow, a student. The server published the specifications of HTTP, UDI and HTML in order to facilitate discussion by people who research on the given topic. For accessing the internet, browsers like Cello, Mosaic, etc. were introduced to enable clients to work on machines other than NeXT. 1994 marked the beginning of the World Wide Consortium, which is a landmark event where companies formed together to create common protocols for the Web, and then began a world of the web.

Earlier versions had seen the use of a number of TCP/IP features which allowed users to network but at the time, it was not known what the potential for this setup was going to be. Recent IETF meetings have viewed these TCP/IET protocols with more praise and acceptance than previously and have acknowledged the advances since then. To enable this expansion, tools were needed and how best to enable this was the basis for much debate. As networking was a key issue, products to enable this were developed and this allowed users to be able to connect to the internet. At the time, this was the edge of what commercial possibilities stretched to but as more people got online in huge numbers, it was vital for people to have this service and the internet easily captured the interest of many ordinary people. The advances made by the internet were down to huge technological improvements.

Some of the Information Technology major companies like IBM, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, etc. are getting into the market of the internet, and many tools, products, etc. have been developed to improve web applications. Web servers are made available in such a way that they offer the people access to the webpage that they require, and many other features which may help them as well.

The hardware manufacturers have also built power servers to catalyze the growth of the industry of web hosting. There has been a phenomenal change in how the internet is used. It has undergone a drastic change from the PC’s [Personal Computers] to the client server to the P2P [Peer to Peer] network. Various features that have been made possible by the internet include sharing of data and information, emailing, remote logging and a host of other features. You name it, you have it! However, keep in mind that this transformation is still in progress. Internet television and internet telephony are other features which have been developed of late. It will be very difficult to say to what level the internet will have reached after, say, a decade!

4 Easy Steps To Create Web Graphics

by Lucas Heijn

Sometimes the most difficult part is knowing where to start. Have you ever had someone show you just how to do some something. They go click, click, and click – Done! And you’re none the wiser; You see everything is easy once you know how. That’s my purpose here. It is to help you see it as easy. So let’s look at these four steps.

Step 1. Begin

Go to “File” and click “New”. You now need to specify the size of your graphic. Normally you would have determined this in advance as you must first have a purpose for the graphic. Ours is a header graphic. Headers on a sales page are usually around 700 pixels by 120 pixels. So we can choose that as our size for the graphic.

Step 2. The Background.

There are 3 options. The background can be a solid color, a gradient, or a picture.

If we choose a solid color we need to specify what color we want. We can do this on the floating toolbox, usually on the left-hand side of the work area. You will see 2 color boxes one over the other. Click on the top box and a color chooser comes up. Choose your color. Now click on the bucket tool. If you don’t see a bucket tool move your mouse over the tools until you find the gradient tool. Right click on the gradient tool and you will see two options, gradient or bucket.

Having chosen the color, move your mouse over the new graphic. Your mouse pointer turns into a bucket and click. The color you chose in the tool box is now your background color.

To fill this with a gradient, change the bucket toll into the gradient tool. Once again you need to choose a color. This time you will need to choose 2 colors. The top square is your starting color and the bottom square is the finish color of the gradient.

On the top bar of the work area you now have a choice of different looking gradients. You will need to experiment with this to get the effect you want. To make the gradient, click and hold the mouse where you want to start and drag it to where you want it to finish.

Importing a picture into your graphic as a background is easy. All you need to do is open a file with the picture you want to use. Make sure that the picture is larger or equal in size to the graphic you are creating. With your mouse just drag and drop the picture into your new graphic. Now just move it around to where you want it. That’s it.

This works with JPEG Files but does not work with Gif files.

Third Step: Working With Layers

In Photoshop you work with layers. Each time you add something new you create a new layer. On the right-hand side of your work area you will see “Layers”. When you open this you will see all the layers. You can click on any of these layers and make them the active layer and the edit that layer.

An image can be imported in the same way the background was imported. Just drag and drop it into the new graphic. When you do this you will notice that there is also some unwanted background with the image. This can be removed with the eraser tool.

If the background is mostly one color use the “Magic Eraser”. You can choose this by right clicking on the eraser and choosing it. After choosing “Magic Eraser” move it over the section you want to remove. Click the mouse and you will see the background disappear. After removing the background and while it is still the active layer you can move this layer to where you need it.

Fourth Step: Text

In Photoshop your text is also a layer. Each time you insert new text you create a new layer. You are able to move the text around as you can any other layer.

In the left hand tool box there is the text tool “T”. as in any word processor program fonts, styles and size can be chosen in the bar above the work area.

Now that your text is in place it can be enhanced and made to stand out. Make sure the text you want to work with is the active layer. On the top bar of the work area is “Layer”. Click it and choose “Layer Style”. This will open up numerous options. To get an idea of what each of these does just play and experiment with it. As you choose an option it will instantly be seen before you commit it.

There you are you have finished a simple but professional graphic you could use in a web site.

You will need to save the graphic in Photoshop format so that you can always edit it without having to start from scratch again. If you want to save it for a web page you can do so by going to “File” from the drop-down box choose “Save For Web And Devices” this will produce a smaller file suitable for a web page.

Tips For Relieving Tax Debts

by Chris Channing

The government isn’t your average debt collector. Indeed, they have many means of obtaining tax debts that consumers might not view as incredibly friendly. To keep the IRS off of one’s case, however, is going to take some tax knowledge. Luckily, such tax knowledge can be easily found for those who seek it.

Whether or not an individual needs professional help with their tax debts is usually decided upon by the amount they owed. If the amount is considered a petty debt, usually under $10,000, then the individual will be able to handle the situation by themselves if they would wish it. Debts greater than this amount but lower than $25,000 would warrant the need of a tax professional, while debts greater than this consider professional help mandatory.

Interestingly enough, the government can often be just like your average lender. They have what is called an installment agreement, in which case the consumer agrees to make payments each month on a certain debt just like a credit company would require. Installment agreements vary based on the deal struck with the IRS, but generally paying them off sooner will be better than later.

What most consumers don’t try is haggilng. Since the age of time, haggling and bartering have been successful in making both sides more happy with their deal. For instance a consumer might agree to pay a higher down payment if the IRS agrees to lessen up the monthly payment required each month.

If the consumer is looking to get the IRS from calling them and annoying them each and every day, the consumer should look towards the “not currently collectible” agreement. This agreement forbids the IRS to contact the consumer for a specified amount of time, usually a year, but only select individuals may apply.

Lastly there is bankruptcy, although it is a decision that isn’t going to come as easy. All debts can be settled by filing for bankruptcy, but keep in mind that bankruptcy will ruin one’s credit rating for a good decade. If one is interested in this option, they should make sure that there is no possible way their income can’t supplement their debts.

Closing Comments

No one likes being in debt, and this is more true when one owes the government money. To get out of the hole, consumers are highly recommended to visit local tax specialists, consult online lenders, and even consult the IRS themselves for options in getting out fast.

Insurance Quotes And How To Get Them

by Chris Channing

Getting a quote online shouldn’t have to be a hassle- but it often is because of the attitude of many insurance agencies today. Knowing how to selectively get the best quotes and which companies to trust is a big deal, when considering they are backing the well-being of one’s home, vehicle, or even the applicant’s life.

The act of finding insurance online has been made much more simple thanks to online third party programs that take confidential information, submit it to insurance companies, and then show a list of prices based on the information entered. This sounds like a fool-proof plan, but keep in mind that the third party may use confidential information in ways consumers may not like. Thus, reading privacy policies and terms of use are important.

Insurance companies will all have a quoting tool on their website- this is usually the best place to go to get an online insurance quote. This will mean a couple of hours of inputting the same data over numerous insurance websites, but it ensures that one’s information is kept confidential and out of the hands of third parties.

Marketing tactics are almost always present in an online quoting tool. It’s a common marketing tactic to quote a price lower than it actually is, so the consumer becomes accustomed to thinking of themselves as the insurance agency’s new client. But then out of nowhere insurance agencies raise rates, and consumers are left in difficult situations. Avoid this by reading insurance reviews online, so one can point out the “bad eggs.”

One should be careful about who they choose as an insurance company. Some insurance companies have horrid reputations both on their overall customer satisfaction and they way they handle claims. This changes from time to time, so one should always supplement an online insurance quote with a review or two from websites not owned by the insurance company.

To start the process of getting an online insurance quote, consumers will need to have certain information handy. Their social security number, address, phone number, and even records of any minor or major vehicle incidents in the past are good to have handy. It’s generally accepted that after 3-5 years, a consumer won’t need to report violations, but check with the insurance agency first before omitting data.

Final Thoughts

Getting online insurance is becoming the easier way to get insurance- especially since it avoids the commute times and costs that are required to go to physical locations. In addition, using the Internet will sometimes get consumers small discounts and give them more selection. Visit local and online insurers for more information on the subject.

ForeverGreen is a publicly traded, debt-free company that distributes nutritional and skin care products through direct sales. In four years, it has grown to a membership of nearly 50,000, and it is doing business in more than 10 different countries around the world, including the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The company was founded in 2004 by Ron Williams, a man with a lot of experience in network marketing. He began as a distributor for Nuskin and went on to become a senior exective at Neways. He successfully established several large businesses in the health and wellness industry before launching ForeverGreen. Through ForeverGreen, he hopes to change the perception of MLM from an industry of takers to a global community of givers.

ForeverGreen’s main sales push is a beverage called FrequenSea. It is made with Marine Phytoplankton that is said to help with immune system enhancement, relief from joint pain, reduced blood pressure and cholesterol, and antioxidants, to name just a few. The product is so popular, you almost can’t find ForeverGreen Consultants, just FrequenSea Distributors.

Most people who consume FrequenSea feel the difference and become faithful customers, translating to monthly residual income for the distributor. ForeverGreen also offers a line of chocolates enhanced with specially formulated nutrients to answer to specific needs in the body.

Compared to other MLM opportunities, the ForeverGreen/FrequenSea Distributor Opportunity is uncomplicated. There are no parties to set up, no inventory to store and no deliveries to make. The company drop-ships orders to customers’ homes.

The cost to become a distributor, at the time of this writing, is $170. That covers a one-time distributor fee of $29.95 and the wholesale price of a case of FrequeSea. The compensation plan begins with retail profit from products sold at a markup of the distributor’s choosing. Distributors also earn rebates of 25% on monthly personal volume.

From there, distributors can go on to receive bonuses for enrolling new members. They receive bonuses when their recruits sell and when their recruits sponsor other new members. There is monthly residual income for high ranking members. There’s even an opportunity to earn a new car!

Forevergreen appears to be a very forward-thinking company in several ways. Distributors can sell in their communities, fostering valuable consumer/provider relationships that translate to monthly residuals from repeat sales. In addition, ForeverGreen distributors are also given websites and lead capture pages, so that they can also take advantage of all the benefits of online Attraction Marketing.
