It can be tough to find a leads for a business opportunity or an MLM because there are so many avenues you can look at out there. You want to make sure that the leads you do buy will fit your ideal customer that you want to sell your products to.

Really focus on yourself and make sure that you are comparing and contrasting a lot of companies that you could buy from with your leads. You want to let them know that you are looking at many options and find out what makes each unique.

Think first about what is my product and how will this help my client? Many clients want to get something out the relationship for the product and you need to find out what the end point is. Make sure you truly understand what it is that they get out of buying your product and don’t just move forward on your assumption. The best way to do this is to interact with them through phone calls and different forums that will allow for them to express why they would buy your product personally. This can save you a lot of money and hassle.

Then when you figure this out be willing to express this to anyone in your organization that you deal with. Everyone needs to know this because it will make a difference in their approach to the client and how they deal with your customer support process.

Now going back to the lead generation companies, make sure you know their step by step process that gets the leads to you. It has to fit your ideal customer and you have to know that from the process that the prospect is going to get what they want.

This will make the sales process more exciting when you know the right person is going down the right path and the only question is whether they have the money or not. Also check to see how often the leads are called.

Now that you know what you client wants and how your product can help them achieve this, your whole marketing process could change. No matter how you find leads it will become easier to sell and create long term customer relationships.

Earned Income Credit: How to Become Eligible

Families that are considered to be poor or low income are given assistance through the earned income credit, or EIC. The EIC is a tax credit that helps such families with low earnings to have a better standard of living. An EIC can translate into a tax refund of anywhere between $400 and $4,500. This article will explain how you can figure out if you are eligible for the EIC.

Some think that this credit is synonymous with having children, but those who have no dependents can also qualify and receive an earned income credit from the IRS. Single workers with no dependents can earn a much smaller sum of the tax credit. In error, they don’t claim it or even ask about it on their taxes.

The earned income tax credit isn’t available to everyone. Here are the requirements: earn a taxable income, have a child that qualifies, file taxes under any category except Married Filing Separately, older than twenty-five years of age, a social security number, and be a United States citizen. Once you meet these requirements, you are well on your way in the process.

In order to obtain the EIC, you need to make a sustaining income. This income can come from freelance or self-employed work. The EIC program benefits people who are willing to work for their money.

Having a child increases your chances of receiving a credit, but they don’t automatically qualify you for it. Children under eighteen qualify as eligible. A disabled child over eighteen years of age, in the care of a working parent, also meets this requirement. A child enrolled in a school of higher education can be as old as twenty-four and their parent(s) can still receive the tax credit.

The child has to live with you for at least half of the year to be considered a qualifying child. Foster children count in this equation, too. All children need a valid social security number. Custody issues can make things complicated when it comes to the children. Only the parent who still lives in the primary residence with the child can claim them towards qualifying for the earned income credit.

If a married couple wishes to receive the tax benefits of the EIC, they must file their taxes jointly. Separated couples cannot both claim their children for the EIC, so they will have to decide who will claim them. You can claim the earned income credit on any 1040 tax form.

Whether you know it or not, you may qualify for the earned income tax credit. Assuming that you need to have a child or enough income to file a return could be costing you money from the government.

?Benefits of Having an IRA

Debt is closely tied to savings – the more you do the first, the less you have left over for the latter. Conversely, the more savings you have, the less you (usually) need or want to borrow. Since you’re paying out interest by borrowing, and (in some cases) simultaneously not getting interest by saving instead, you get a double financial whammy.

For example, instead of borrowing money by using your credit card, you could save that same amount every month until you had enough to buy the item you used the credit card to purchase. Only you can decide whether having the item today is worth paying the extra amount of money it cost in interest to own it.

But when it goes beyond individual items, into the realm of saving for retirement, you have a bigger issue to consider. An IRA (Individual Retirement Account) allows you to set aside money for your later years. That has multiple benefits and a few risks.

When you save that money, obviously, you are not spending it. You accumulate interest on that money saved, which compounds over time. See one of the many online calculators to get a feel for how compounding can help, for example, turn a few thousand into many thousands over 30 years. You also get a tax benefit, since by design any money put into the account represents a tax deduction.

The tax benefit is that you are not taxed on the money until the future when you use it. Normally your tax rate will be much lower and you will pay less taxes on the money than if it was taxed at the time you earned it. This is not true in every case, but with the majority of people it has proven to be the case.

There are many IRA options available today and the system has evolved a bit in recent years. But the basic principle is the same ??” up to $2,000 per year deposited into an account tax free.

One variation, for example, is the popular Roth IRA. Federal regulations allow tax-free withdrawals as long as the contributions remain in the account for five years and you are at least 59, or it’s used for a first-time home purchase.

The 401k (named after a provision in the 1978 Internal Revenue Code) is also a very popular long term savings program. Employers put tax-deferred money into an account for their employees. No income tax is paid on the funds until they are taken out of the account.

Nofollow 101 – Understanding the Nofollow Tag

What is Nofollow?

Nofollow is an html attribute first introduced in 2005 by Google. Originally, the rel=”nofollow” attribute was added to discourage comment spam in blogs. Links with nofollow should not influence the link target’s ranking in the search engine.

From the Google Blog:

From now on, when Google sees the attribute (rel=”nofollow”) on hyperlinks, those links won’t get any credit when we rank websites in our search results. This isn’t a negative vote for the site where the comment was posted; it’s just a way to make sure that spammers get no benefit from abusing public areas like blog comments, trackbacks, and referrer lists.

From Google Answers:

“Nofollow” provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines “Don’t follow links on this page” or “Don’t follow this specific link.”

So the rel=”nofollow” attribute is a tool that can help define your most important links to the search engines.

History of Nofollow

Originally, the nofollow attribute was used on the page-level with a meta tag. It instructed search engines not to follow (crawl) outgoing links on a page. Example: see code example on main site

Another way to tell search engines not to follow (crawl) pages was to include them in a robots.txt file. But it was more difficult to prevent robots from following individual links on a link by link basis. The rel=”nofollow” attribute allows webmasters to easily instruct the search engine robot to not crawl a link.

How to Spot Nofollow Links?

You can install browser plugins, or edits to Chrome to show a highlighted color over nofollow links. You can also install a plugin to your blogging software.

Nofollow Implications

Links are now either dofollow or nofollow. From the perspective of building links to your site or blog, dofollow links will always give you more link juice. While nofollow links won’t either harm or help your link building. With that said, how you decide to build links with respect to the nofollow attribute (whether you want to get ONLY dofollow links or both to create a more natural array of links) will be an individual choice. Why would I want to use nofollow on a link?

You might want to use nofollow on a link you don’t endorse, but has information you want to point to. On blog sites, you may want to give a nofollow link to spam comments and give credit to comments that are well thought out or contribute to your post.

GPS Tracking Systems of the World

In the United States today, the GPS tracking system has become a staple for U.S. drivers, especially those employed in positions requiring an excessive amount of driving. Though GPS was made public by President Reagan after the destruction of Korean Airlines Flight 007, it has taken over twenty years to penetrate the culture of everyday life. Now, it seems impossible to think of this modern life without the ever-present GPS-enabled device, whether it be a phone, a driver aid, or even mapping services.

The GPS tracking system for the United States, officially called NAVSTAR-GPS, is the only Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) that is fully operational. It was developed and maintained by the United States military, and uses a minimum of three satellites to triangulate position through a series of time and orbit reports. Though its use has been widespread among many industries for a long time, the recent surge in affordable hand-held technology has now made it so affordable it has become a standard feature for many cellular phones.

The Russian Federation has developed its own GPS system called GLONASS. This system is an alternate to the US version, and is considered to be complementary with GNSS. Begun in 1976, GLONASS uses 24 total satellites, with 21 required for processing any given the signal and three satellites used as spares. GLONASS uses two types of signals to calculate position, and can also measure the velocity of a traveling vehicle as well. As with the US version, GLONASS was originally developed to replace the aging Tsikada System, which used to take up to an hour to find a given position.

The Chinese tracking system is called COMPASS. This is projected to include 35 satellites and span the entire globe. There will be two types of service: open (public) and restricted (military). Even though it is also known as Beidou-2, this system is not going to be anything like Beidou-1, China’s original GNSS. This GPS system is definitely one to watch in the coming years. Presently, it only has a limited scope of use.

In India there is a great deal of interest concerning the Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System (IRNSS). This system was created to address the grim realty that should a serious situation develop or a disaster occur, other GPS systems will not be available to serve the Indian subcontinent. This system was approved by the government in 2006 and is expected to be available in 2009. Unlike other systems that include an open component for public use, the IRNSS will be under limited government control.

The European Union’s (EU) GPS tracking system is named GALILEO. This system was unanimously approved in 2007 by all 27 member countries, with the aim of being operational by 2013. There will be bases in both Italy and Germany, and unlike GPS, Galileo is created by the public and not the military, meaning that the military will not have the ability to block it from public use like other countries. The GPS race is on and the world is about to become that much smaller.
