Mor Vacations sets new marketing standard

by Regan Cole

Mor vacations is booming with calls and emails about their new vacation plan. It is just the pre-launch that has the crowds waiting at the door pushing to get in. With a 23 year perent company with more than 100,000 active members you know this vacation will be big for all.

There are the others of coarse, YTB and Coastal Vacations, both companies had major limitations when compared to GRN.For the past two years Global Resorts Network, has dominated the Travel Club With Mor Vacations this has raised the bar.

One fact remains true in the world of the internet 6 months to one year is like a lifetime in this industry.

Many GRN affililates taking the new opportunity resulting in a massive move from GRN to the new MOR Vacations. Pale white is the face of the market, being amazed at what they are wittnessing, a widespread switchover.

Being committed to providing value to the consumer MOR Vacations introduced outstanding value packaged Hot Weeks starting at $149 and $199. This is half the current rate of GRN’s $298 lowest price.

Both MOR Vacations and GRN are almost the same. The better of the two being MOR Vacations providing more to the consumer

MOR Vacations also attracts high end travelers with the membership providing high end resorts not availiable at all with GRN. All the differences fall on the side of MOR vacations

when put under the microscope MOR Vacations out classes GRN. If you are diligent in your research you will see that what I am saying is true.

An Introduction to Home Energy Systems

by Daniel Shermann

When you hear about home energy systems, it is primarily associated with the energy from the sun. The most common residential energy system is the conversion of solar energy into electricity for home use. There are two main types of solar energy, light and thermal. Light energy, from the sun, is harnessed by a collecting medium then transformed into electricity. Thermal energy, which is derived from the heat of the sun, is used to directly warm household water and swimming pools.

A typical home energy system has four components:

1. Solar or Photovoltaic Cells – Photovoltaic or solar cells made of a semiconductor material in which sunlight is converted into electricity through excitation of electrons. These cells require protection from various environmental and mechanical elements; thus, they are encased in photovoltaic modules or panels. These modules come in different sizes, weights, and shapes.

2. The Inverter – An inverter transforms direct current into alternative current electricity.

3. Mounting System – A sturdy mounting system is imperative to secure your home energy systems atop a variety of surfaces from tiled roofs to the shiny exterior of a yacht.

4. Energy Storage – Batteries are optional as they served as storage for electricity produced.

Solar energy also make use of semiconductor materials. The commonly used semiconductor materials in the manufacture of solar cells are:

1. Mono-Crystalline Silicon – Mono-crystalline silicon is made by the use of a crystal microtome that thinly slices the material into 150 – 350 microns thickness.

2. Multi-Crystalline – Multi-crystalline silicon is made by sawing into a block of silicon.

3. An Amorphous Silicon – Amorphous silicon is produced when a thin layer of the material is placed on a substrate to make a photovoltaic module.

4. The flimsiest material used in solar cells, this film has a width of 1/10 micron.

The advantages of home energy systems are definitely extensive. Among such perks are the following:

1. Relatively fast turnabout of capital investment considering that solar power companies offer a minimum of a 20-year warranty and solar units can last a lifetime with proper use and care.

2. Because you are self-sufficient in terms of electricity, you are no longer influenced by price hikes of electrical providers. You now have full reigns on the amount of electricity you can generate with your home energy system.

3. You don’t have to pay for taxes. There are no taxes yet levied by the government when you harness solar radiation. You are entitled to as much sunlight as your system can get.

4. Home energy systems have low maintenance costs compared to electrical connections with their many wirings and cables.

5. Government supports it. Many governments actually offer incentives for people to switch to home energy systems as part of their environmentalist movement.

6. It is environment-friendly. Unlike renewable energy, solar power does not emit polluting emissions and harmful greenhouse gases such as carbon and methane. Accidental dredging and spillage seen in fossil fuel production is also not possible with solar power.

7. With home energy, there are no dangerous ecological by-products made during solar power production.

8. It is an actual way of helping the environment. You set a good example for your neighbors to hopefully emulate. When you use solar power energy, you actually help conserve other depleting natural energy sources like petroleum and coal for future generation use.

What Training Do I Need to Become an Offshore Investment Broker?

by Amy Nutt

Are you fascinated by the rise and fall of stocks around the world? Do your bedtime stories consist of books on tax laws? Do you love to travel and want to make more money? Are you ready for a career change? If so, you might make a great offshore investment broker.

What Does an Offshore Investment Broker Do? Offshore investments are classified as such on a stock exchange, which means that investors are not taxed on dividends paid by the fund. In addition, the corporate profits of these funds are usually subject only to very low local taxes. Several types of accounts are available, including investment club accounts, individual and joint accounts, estate and trust accounts, and corporate or partnership accounts.

An offshore investment broker helps investors select and manage offshore accounts. They generally work overseas and meet with clients one-on-one via the Internet or phone. Offshore investment brokers generally work through a larger offshore investment company, rather than independently providing financial services to customers. Many offshore investment brokers need to be available at odd hours to assist customers in different time zones.

What are the Advantages of Working in Offshore Investments? Although offshore investment brokers must work very hard to earn a living, the living they do earn is considerable. Because of the tax savings on offshore investments, offshore investment brokers can frequently charge a higher commission than their traditional counterparts. This translates to a higher personal income for the broker, often in the range of $300,000 per year.

Offshore investment brokers also work in exciting locations. If you love to travel and enjoy the idea of living in a foreign country, this might be a great career for you. Brokers working for offshore investment companies get to see the world.

What Do Offshore Investment Firms Look for in a Broker? Because clients are located all over the world, offshore investment brokers may need to speak two or more languages. This allows them to communicate with clients in one location while handling investments in another. In addition, offshore investment brokers should be able to move to other world locations as needed by the brokerage.

Offshore investment firms are interested in brokers who are great with people. Because of the intensive one-on-one nature of offshore investment, people skills rank high on the list of desired qualities in a candidate. Ideal brokers are also self-motivated, positive, and work well in a team. High value is placed on ethics and courtesy as well.

Offshore investment brokers sometimes need to work long hours, so brokerages are interested in candidates who are hard working and driven by rewards and results. A clean criminal background check is also a major requirement for this type of work.

How Do I Become a Broker? Becoming an offshore investment broker is a multi-step process. It’s important to make sure you have the proper training and qualities before applying for positions and preparing to pack up your life and move to another country.

Most offshore investment firms provide training in the specifics of being an offshore investment broker, but they expect candidates to have qualifications related to investment brokerage in general. Specifically, they expect to see people who work at a senior management level, have a great track record when it comes to sales, and have a history of completing high-value transactions.

Here are some specific steps you can take to become an offshore investment broker: – Establish yourself as a broker in a domestic firm. Try to attain a senior level position and perform well at this position for a couple of years. – Learn at least one other language. The language you choose to learn depends on the location of the brokerage where you would like to work, as well as the language spoken by many of its clients. – Be sure to document your sales successes, especially those involving high-value transactions. – If possible, establish a relationship with other offshore investment brokers. As with any career, networking is very important.

Choosing your AdSense Ad Formats

by Carlos de la Crois

When choosing adsense for your website one of the things you will need to know is the right ad format. Not al formats convert the same or even work on your site. The adsense ads are best dominated by testing and learning from trial and error. Ad formats depend on the placement on your website

The first format that you will want to take a look at is the famous leaderboard ad format with a 728 x 90 size. This is obviously a large ad format and therefor only suited for places where you have lots of space like the header or footer of your page. This is a very popular format with 4 ad units and it seems that it converts rather well on most sites

If you want to put banner type ads on your site you should pick the 468 x 60 banner with 2 ads in it. This type of banner can be used very effectively on top of content or below it. The half banner only shows 1 ad and can be used everywhere on your site. Its size is 234 x 60 pixels. However if you want to go for a more vertical layout of your ads the 120 x 240 pixels vertical banner may be the one you are looking for

For the small type of ads that go in tight spots on your site you can use the buttons with the 125 x 125 square size holding 1 single ad. This is a perfect spot to showcase a single ad if you combine the ad with an atractive backgound color

A great converting unit for side display of adsense ads is the skyscraper. The skyscraper unit comes i 2 diferent formats. The regular 120 x 600 pixels to show 3 or 4 ads and the wide skyscraper with a size of 160 x 600 holding 5 ads

The Small Rectange is 180 X 150 and holds one AdSense ad very well. The Medium Rectangle format allows three or four ads to be placed inside a 300 X 250 rectangle. The Large Rectangle, perfect for placing four ads inside, is 336 X 280. The Square measures 250 X 250 and holds up to three AdSense ads well.

If you use image-based Adsense ads, you can choose the Leader Board which you will find placed across the top of many websites. It measures 728 X 90. The Banner is a smaller ad that measure 468 X 60. The Sky Scraper and Wide Sky Scraper are also choices for use on the sides of a webpage. Or you can choose the Medium Rectangle format. All of these image ads hold a single image.

There are also various layouts for displaying Link Unit Adsense ads so that they will fit well into your website also. They can be stacked, lined up across the top or bottom and allow just as much variety as the text and image ads.

Newbie Guide To Free For All Sites (FFA’s)

by Rachel Rae

For those of you who don’t know what an FFA site is, it’s basically a website where you can post a link/add to your website for free. Generally it is also posted to many other sites at the same time and hopefully somebody sees your link…free advertising in other words. This also creates backlinks to your website. When you post a link, you are also giving permission (whether you know it or not) to receive confirmation e-mails back from the site owner.

For people new to all this however, it can be baffling. Sometimes they are angry when they not only do not see a flood of sales coming their way from their posting, but they start receiving other people’s offers instead. It can be quite frustrating for a newbie.

Let’s back the truck up a minute and really explore what just happened and the true purpose of a FFA site. The real purpose is for the site owner to promote his business or product to you. He’s just just being a nice person giving people free advertising space. If it worked that way, he’d be using it as his own goldmine. This is just the bait so people will post their site, so they can send their offers to you via their confirmation link. Brilliant isn’t it?

Those confirmation e-mails are NOT spam. You had to agree to receive them in order to post your link. Who are reading these ads anyway? So is posting to FFA’s a total waste of time? Not necessarily, you do get an occasional sale, people do go back to post their links and sometimes take a quick look through the links to see what’s there while they’re at it.

So how do you really use them for your benefit? Get your own FFA site to promote your business. There are many excellent ones out there, shop around to find which you like best. Many offer free or paid upgrade versions and the phrase “you get what you pay for” comes to mind. I’ve used several kinds and found the paid upgrades more than paid for themselves.

Many things can be promoted through FFA sites, information products, crafts, vitamins, and anything else you are selling. If you don’t have traffic coming to your site, it doesn’t matter how great what you have is, you won’t have sales. These sites provide methods to get traffic to your site. Free classified websites work in pretty much the same concept and can be another method worth pursuing.

Bambi, Disney’s 5th Animated Classic

by Steve Collins

In 1942, Walt Disney released his fifth animated feature, Bambi. It was based on the Austrian story Bambi, A Life In The Woods, by Felix Salten. Published in 1923, the book chronicled the adventures of a male roe deer from birth to maturity. The book was well received both in Europe and the United States. Salten, whose actual name was Siegmund Salzmann, was Hungarian by birth but spent most of his life in Vienna. The popularity of the book prompted Salten to write a sequel entitled Bambi’s Children.

The plot of Bambi, the animated film, follows the adventures the title deer, who is the Prince of the Forest, and his companions Thumper, a rabbit; Flower, a skunk; and Faline, a white-tailed fawn who becomes his mate. While Bambi was originally written as a roe deer, Disney took the liberty to make him a white-tailed deer as roe do not inhabit the United States.

In his signature effort to convey realistic details, Disney sent his team of illustrators to lectures at the Los Angeles Zoo and even went so far as to have a pair of fawns flown in from Baxter State Park in Maine. This allowed the animators to observe, first-hand, the movements of the white-tailed deer. This was a key factor in deciding to make the animated Bambi a white-tailed deer, and not the roe deer of Salten’s book. Maurice Day, of one the best known of Disney’s animators, was sent to Vermont and Maine to photograph and sketch the eastern forests. His research material was used by Tyrus Wong, a former painter whose Eastern painterly influence added a new dimension of emotion to the lush backgrounds.

Bambi was released by RKO in August of 1942, as World War II was raging. Although it did relatively well at the box office, it was still considered a failure by Disney at it barely covered the costs of production. It was in subsequent re-releases, in 1947, 1957, 1966, 1975, 1982, and 1988 that Bambi actually returned a tremendous profit. Indeed, it has been one of the most popular VHS and DVD movies the studio has ever issued. The Bambi Masterpiece release was the first Disney release to be THX certified.

The film garnered three Academy Award nominations for Best Sound, Best Song (“Love Is A Song”), and Original Music Score. Fans and critics alike hailed the animation, which showed a maturity and solidification of the Disney “style.” Disney would not try to make another animated feature until well after the war with Cinderella in 1950.

Getting started with Adobe Illustrator

by Andrew Whiteman

Adobe Illustrator is often the least used member of the graphic design trinity which also includes InDesign (or QuarkXPress) and Photoshop. Its main use is the creation of print graphics, anything from a corporate logo or a map of directions to your office. It can also be used to build website layouts and web graphics include Flash animations. There are also several functions relating to page layout, such as the ability to link paragraphs of text and run text around images.

We often find that delegates attending our Adobe Illustrator training courses have difficulty in getting to grips with the program, finding applications for it and incorporating it into their workflows. One of the main reasons for this is what we sometimes refer to as “Blank Canvas Syndrome”. The thing is: at first glance, Adobe Illustrator often seems a lot less enticing and inviting than, say, Photoshop. To many new users, Photoshop is like a big city with bright lights and lots of exciting things to do and places to go. By contrast, Illustrator can seem like a wasteland; there’s just nothing there when you create a new document; it’s up to you to create everything from scratch.

As Illustrator trainers, we take on board the fact that running an Illustrator training course involves more than just tuition of the use to tools and techniques. To get delegates feeling enthusiastic about using the program, we also need to rid them of their fear of the stark blank canvas facing them every time they create a new file. We have identified four main techniques for ridding new users of “Blank Canvas Syndrome”. Firstly, it is important to clearly identify the type of artwork you want Illustrator to create for you. Secondly, use Illustrator’s Live Trace facility to create vector elements which can become a starting point for your own artwork. Thirdly, use background images as guides as you create your own drawings. And, fourthly, copy, reuse and modify elements that already exist within your own drawings.

The most successful Illustrator training courses that we run are for people who know exactly what they want to use the program for. It could be cartographers, technical illustrators or fabric designers; as long as they have a specific brief, we can show them the best techniques to solve their particular requirement. However, for a lot of delegates, Illustrator is something they feel they could and should be using but they don’t really know where to start.

For those users who are not using the program in a very pointed fashion, we always try to emphasise that creating Illustrator artwork doesn’t have to mean originating every single stroke from scratch. We show users how they can use imported graphics as a starting point for their own artwork. For example, keeping scanned images on a background layer and drawing over them using the pen tool or converting bitmapped images into vectors with Illustrator’s Live Trace utility.

Illustrator’s Live Trace utility was developed from a standalone program called Adobe Streamline and is extremely powerful. It can be used to convert any scanned or bitmapped image into a vector. Naturally, the nature of the resulting vector image depends on the original. However, it’s very fast and the results can be extremely impressive; so it’s always worth trying it out if your feel that it may create something you can clean up and use.

As well as tracing, it is also often useful to just keep an image on a background layer and constantly refer to it as you create your artwork. It can also be useful to reduce the opacity of the background image to about 40 or 50 percent so it doesn’t become obtrusive. Sometimes you may manually trace around areas of these reference images. Other times, you may just use it for reference, so you can check the dimensions or shape of elements that you create in the foreground.

Another way of getting past Illustrator Blank Canvas Syndrome is to base new elements that you create on elements that already exist within your drawing. The program has a rich range of tools and techniques for doing this. You can create simple copies of an original element and you can also create transformed copies of the original. Illustrator also has the facility of applying multiple attributes to the same object. For example, you can give the same circle, say, five borders rather than creating five overlapping circles.

The bottom line is that Illustrator’s blank canvas doesn’t have to stay blank for very long. You just need to formulate a clear idea of what you want to achieve with the program. Wherever possible, find images which you can either trace or use as reference points as you originate your own artwork. And, when creating new elements always ask yourself: “Can I base these new elements on items that already exist within the drawing?” If you use these simple techniques, then Blank Canvas Syndrome will never become a huge affliction for you.
