Vintage Home Decor Shopping Online Sites

by Thulas Sukati

Huge profits can be gained from online catalogue businesses. With a growing number of consumer patrons who would rather sit down in front of the computer and would rather stay away from competing with the crowd in the malls, catalogue shopping online is a sure hit these days. Some online shopping experiences are time-consuming and confusing, despite the increasing demand of online purchase. Most e-commerce sites have a poor level of usability. Sometimes a sale becomes a page exit from the website because the shopper was not happy with the online shopping experience.

Online catalogue shopping site owners, it is imperative that you find ways to improve the “user-friendliness” of your shopping website. Potential buyers can have help in finding what they are searching for. For better usability, optimize your catalogue shopping site by following these tips:

Good clear headings, subheadings, and breadcrumb navigation should be used: This assures the shopper that he is not lost in the site. Immediately he knows what category of page he is in now and it saves time and effort on his part.

The top area of the page should have the search bar placed in it: For easy usage, the search bar must be simple and plain. Also, you can device it in a way that it can search per catalogue or category for easier search experience. So users can easily take advantage of this when searching for merchandise, place this above the fold.

At the top of the page be sure to place contact information or a phone number. For both you and the shopper, it is more convenient to track purchases made online. Relationships can be established with your loyal customers by allowing shoppers to contact you. When they see that the catalogue shopping site has a legitimate phone number and address this provides a certain level of security for the shopper.

A “show page” functionality must be present on your site: The option to see a part of the page, for example a particular item in display, and the choice to show the entire page for each product category must be available. There are more buying choices for your customers to choose from. It is just as good to offer products as it is to guarantee online shoppers an excellent user experience. A user-friendly catalogue shopping website can be a unique selling point.

Get A Guaranteed Loan To Lower Interest Payments

by Dave Davis

As soon we have to spread our wings to start paying for ourselves, reality hits quickly. The cost of housing, a car, and bills can be tremendous. At that point in our lives, many of us wish that we could move back in with our parents to have a little more financial security. Others bend under the pressure and get themselves into high interest debt. The most common form of high interest debt is credit card debt.

While the dream for many people is to get out of debt, for some it’s a near impossibility. Those who have lots of high interest debt will end up making huge payments while paying off very little of the interest. Since the average consumer has at least some credit card debt, this has become a huge issue, especially for young people.

If you had massive amounts of credit card debt a short 10 years ago, it would have been difficult to find help. Thanks to the internet and other forms of communication, you can now find thousands of options for help. Guaranteed loans can restructure your debt, providing you with relief from the pain of high interest.

Once you make the decision to get a loan to help with your debt, you will need to start shopping around. The worst thing you could ever do is grab the first loan option you have available. You may end up with a loan from a junk company, or you may also get an interest rate that’s higher than you want it to be. Taking the time to shop will help you to get a lower rate from a better company.

Let’s assume that you take out a loan to cover your credit card debt of $20,000. If your interest rate is 8%, in the first year you will pay roughly $1,600 in interest alone. However, if your interest rate is 10%, you will pay $2,000 in interest in the first year. If you add up the difference over an 8 year period, the difference will be astounding. Make sure to shop for the best rate available! Obviously the lowest rate will get you the lowest payment.

When you shop around for loans, you will need to prepare yourself mentally. Loan officers get paid on commission and they will likely try to get you to get a loan from them. You will need to tell them that you have every intention of shopping around to find the best deal.

Tell the officer that you have every intention of using him – if he is the best deal for you. Explain that you are a shopper and that he will have to provide the best loan if he wants your business. Tell him that you are going to look at five or so other lending institutions before you make your final decision. Once you have your loan, you can enjoy a fresh start with lower interest payments. Make sure to control your high interest debt to prevent getting into the same bind again.

The Porsche Elefant

by Fabian Toulouse

The reputation of the Porsche has come a long way since 1931. During the Second World War, Porsche lost the bid on the contract to build the massive Elefant tank. Though he lost the bid, his firm was contacted to help design the super tank. The Elefant was perhaps the best designed and most massive tank of the war. The chasses were taken from the Porsche 90 Tiger 1 tanks that were already in production.

The tanks suspension used double bogies and longitudinal torsion bars. Porsche designed the engines to be placed in the middle of the body instead of in the rear in order to make room for the new armament that was then placed in the rear of the tank. These engines used electric generators that powered other electric motors which where coupled to the sprockets. The Elefant tanks were redesigned with a longer barrel, giving it a powerful muzzle velocity, but the barrel had to be fixed in place because of its size.

Porsche AG chasses were later assembled for the Ferdinand series tanks that used 300 horse powered engines, and 100 mm of extra armor plate, which added five more tons of weight to each tank. The Ferdinand/Elefant may have been the most successful tank during the war due to its greater protection ratio, and its superior firepower. These factors gave the tank certain advantages over other tanks, though its weight and the general lack of replacement parts prevented the Germans from fielding a substantial force.

And after the war Porsche continued to use the technology used in the creation of the Elefant tanks to begin building a line of reliable automobiles. These standards are still used today in the production of all their vehicles. Porsche is now the world’s preeminent automaker. Since Ferdinand Porsche designed the Volkswagen Beetle first the two companies always retained a very close relationship with each other but eventually merged into one company in 1969.

The durability of the Porsche auto line series is so admirable that many people all over the world want one. Many race car drivers will only drive a Porsche during a racing event. And the Porsche line just keeps getting better and better. Their resale value only goes higher instead of lower, as with many autos on the road today. It is no wonder so many Chicago used car dealers try to go all out to keep them in stock on the car lots.

Repair Credit Score

by Justin Hutto

If you are cleaning up your credit report then you understand the importance of your credit score. Your credit score can impact your lifestyle more than by how much money you make.

With a bad credit score you may be having employers turn you away from a job. You may be unable to purchase a home or get approval for an auto loan or a credit card. On occasions when you are approved it is at sickening interest rates.

If you learn how the credit system works than you can use that knowledge to better your credit score. With a higher credit score you will be able to make the purchases you want or have extra money because you are not spending it on high interest rates.

The credit bureaus use a mathematical equation to determine your credit score. The bureau puts your credit information into a computer and the computer spits out your credit score.

This three digit number is the yardstick by which employers, lenders, and others see your creditworthiness. In fact, most new credit transactions a lender never looks at anything other than your credit score. You are judged solely by this number.

How can you use the credit system to your benefit? You need to know there are two pieces of information that are most important to the systems equation.

1. Delete negative inaccurate accounts. Derogatory credit items do the most damage to your score and should be removed as soon as possible.

2. Maintain an unsecured revolving line of credit. This is an easy technique that almost anyone can do.

The credit bureaus equation is kept secret and not released to the public. However after review of thousands of credit files it has been learned that having an open unsecured line of credit is just as important as removing negative items.

The unsecured line of credit will improve your credit score because:

1. A credit line adds a trail of positive payment history. The credit bureaus also like to see an account that is aged.

2. Increase your ratio of debt to credit. This is how much credit you have in relation to how much debt you have. You want to be able to show the credit bureaus that you are not using all your available credit.

Your open credit line will carry more influence on your score if it is unsecured. However if you can not be approved for an unsecured loan then I would suggest a secured credit card.

An open credit line will help you build credit but it is still very important to erase derogatory listings from your credit report. If you can not get an unsecured credit line and do not want a secured line of credit then remove the derogatory listings and reapply.

It is possible for everyone to achieve a 700 credit score for themselves. So start today and erase the derogatory marks and build positive marks on your credit report.

Search Engine Ranking – From the Beginning

by Chuck Stewart

I have been operating web sites for the last couple of years. I have developed a proven method of getting the sites I run into the search engines quickly. I then use that same method to help get them to rank well for a small number of keywords, allowing the buoyancy effect to come into play for the rest of the site when one or two keywords ranks very high. In case you were not aware, when one or two keywords rank well within a given site, many secondary keywords enjoy a buoyancy effect and are lifted because of the nice rankings of the main keywords.

I like to review a handful of concepts with the design team before we launch a new site. I like to start by checking for H1 and H2 tags being used throughout the main pages of the web site. Search engine spiders are quick to notice and crawl text in these tags, so they are important in helping the spiders to understand the theme of the site. With good content and the right tags to support them, the site will quickly be crawled by the spiders, the theme will be correctly derived and the search engines can start sending traffic to the site when people request information using the keywords.

Anchor text pointing to other key pages on the site is another area I will check. I am typically able to help web sites get a boost in the search engines by reviewing images and moving the text in the images out into the web page itself. Text contained in an image is not able to be read by the search engines so the site is missing out on the spider being able to read the text inside of the image. The best solution I tend to use is to reduce the size of the image and attractively position the text around the image in a manner that does not destroy the aesthetic appeal of the original image.

I always like to have a unique page for each main keyword of the site so it can highlighted appropriately. Search engines always like to be able to go to a page where the name of the page is the same as the keyword, it gives it an intrinsic value. An example is that of wedding flowers where the home page would contain wedding flowers in anchor text and point to a unique page with the title and html name of wedding flowers. With this convention in place, the search engines will know exactly what to do and will reward the site with the right theme and keyword indexing.

The next item I look for is the use of dashes and not underscores. I have heard, seen and witnessed countless examples of pages not being indexed as well because of the use of underscores. I cannot explain why (I do not know) but I know that this is an issue and should be avoided. Two pages called almost the same name, wedding-photographer.htm and wedding_photographer.htm , will not score equally in the search engines, all else remaining equal. It has been proven time and again so please stay away from it.

I also will question the search engines to find out what they think the theme of the site really is. I have found the best tool to use is the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. I always enjoy finding out what the search engines think the site is about by looking at the main keywords it gives back as the result. I am always amazed to see what the search engines think the site is really about and then get to work fixing their perspective. Most often the issues are easily fixed by adding some H2 tags and by adding no follow lines to some of the links in the site. If you and the search engines disagree on the theme of your site the situation can easily be turned around.

Six Ruts That Every B2B Telesales Person Should Avoid

by Terry Stanfield

Business to business telemarketing is a job that can be very repetitive. Making call after call with the same script and objective can become monotonous even for the most successful marketer. If you want to keep your telemarketing job interesting avoid falling into these common ruts.

Because a telemarketer’s job involves doing the same thing over and over everyday you need to take action to make sure it stays interesting. Here are some common ruts that every business to business telemarketer should avoid and some ways to prevent them.

Many telemarketers fall into a rut by using the same old script for every call. It is best to prepare a few different scripts or dialogues that you can rotate through to keep things interesting. Take some time to develop new scripts or dialogues periodically and take a break from calling.

Another common rut many telesales professionals fall into is ignoring the customer’s needs. Many telesales people forget why they are trying to sell their product or service and just automatically go through the script. Remember why you are selling, to meet the customer’s needs, otherwise the message will be lost.

Failing to adapt to the changing needs of the customer is another rut that can be bad for business as well. It is important to always try to anticipate the changing needs of your customers to stay on top and stay interested.

Whether or not you are consistently successful, it is also a good idea to set new goals. Being in the rut of the same goal for too long can make achieving it less fulfilling. Try to find new things to strive for periodically.

Don’t fall into the common and damaging rut of poor record keeping. Keeping track of who you call, the outcome, and any required follow up is one of the most important parts of successful business to business telemarketing. Knowing who you have contacted and what you need to do next is crucial for success.

Another common rut is calling the same type of customers over and over. While most companies have a distinct target market, you can also try to expand your market to similar demographics or other who can use your product or service for a different use.

With a repetitive job such as business to business telesales falling into a rut is common. Try to avoid this trap and stay successful and productive by keeping your calls interesting.

Career Planning Options

by Gary Pearson

Career planning involves systematically chalking out a career plan so as to further your career interests, deciding upon long-term goals, and continuing your education. Unlike older times, careers have now become an ongoing continuous activity. One has to constantly keep learning to cope with the advances of our era.

To start with, you will have to initially analyze your actual position, relating to your financial condition and importantly your current mental attitude. Are you good at planning stuff, organizing schedules, or working within time constraints? Are you in a field as result of your religious, social or political influences? Are you a good leader? Do you have good inter-personal skills? The bottom line is catching the spark inside you, your passion. Be it anything, you can easily cultivate it in to a successful career.

Next, take a look around. Is there a name for the job that you want to do or are you a pioneer in the field? Is there a company who is hiring or do you need to create your own? Research what is available, what is lacking, and what is related to what you want to do.

Once you are done with your information collecting and assessment, what you can do is go for a short term job or apprenticeship in the field of your choice. Read more about it. Talk with people who have relevant experience and education. Doing this, you will be in a much better position to take your decision.

It’s best to follow these steps for more than one possible career choice, but not more than a few. Unless all of them bombs, you may very well find something that you’d like to try. Enroll in courses if need be or get your resume, interview outfit, and list of companies ready and start applying for entry level positions. Or both. And remember, nothing is ever set in stone. If this doesn’t work out after a few months or you decide you no longer like the career you’ve chosen a year later – or 20 years later – you can always go back to the drawing board and start again.
