Are you looking for some exta income? We all are. Today’s economy has hurt everyone from business owners to stay at home parents.

When I started looking for ways to earn some quick income, I searched the classifieds, online jobs sites and a many internet get rich quick schemes.

After spending days reading and re-reading information, I came to a conclusion.

Forming a home based business was my best bet.

I have found my three favorite programs: Commission Blue Print, Six Figure Yearly, and SaleHoo. Below I have reviewed each.

The Commission Blueprint Review looks like a ton of information. In fact, a ton of stuff is included in this package. Plus it looks a little “geeky” (especially when you look at the reviews on the page.)

However I was able to get through it. If I can, then anyone can. If you have basic computer skills (i.e. if you know how to use Google), then you can have success with this program.

The nice part is since there is so much stuff included; you will be able to find numerous ways to “take it to the next level”

The program comes with an amazing fourteen videos. That is correct, I said 14.

If you are like me, you don’t want to site through and read 100s of pages. You can watch the videos and surf the internet at the same time.

Six Figure Yearly is another program worth looking at. It is less “geeky” than the Commission Blue Print, as the reviewers seem more like “ordinary” people.

Just like the commission blueprint, a good amount of video is included which is nice if you don’t like to read too much material.

A few testimonials claim that you will spend about two hours a day on the program. However most people will most likely spend a weekend to get it set up, then less than two hours a day to maintain it.

The website shows an extraordinary example of success over a short period of time. I think that is the rare case, but if you can do that amount in a year.

Now SaleHoo.com has an interesting take on making money on Ebay.

As I understand it, if you want to make extra money using Ebay, then you need items to sell. Most people I know either clean out the attic – or go to garage sales and then try to sell the product online at a higher price.

Selling an item or two that you found over the weekend isn’t going to make anyone rich. You need volume, but you would need some space to store the items you were selling.

SaleHoo has figured out a solution to the space problem. They have come up with a program that includes partners to help you sell items on Ebay. The partners are selling you items at discount; you mark them up, and then list them on Ebay.

Now, the catch with some of these programs is you need to lay out a large amount of money upfront. For example, if you where selling children’s toys online, a company may make you purchase a hundred items to get a discount. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want boxes of toys sitting in my house. What if I can’t sell them?

SaleHoo’s partners will let you buy one item at a time, so you can see if selling on Ebay works for you.

With the economy in shambles, my guess is that many smart consumers will be looking at Ebay for deals, instead of going to the malls.

How to Overcome the Challenges of String Translation

When generating messages for software users, the general practice is to assemble them at runtime from a library of sub-strings. These truncated strings are nearly impossible to translate with any degree of accuracy. The translated version of the software cannot combine these strings grammatically at runtime. A translation vendor will ask your programmer instead to rewrite these strings into messages which make sense independently.

Beware of Gender

Here is a recent example from the coal face: We were localising a DLL file for a large electronic document management software. Since the organisations the software was aimed at tend to use their own vocabulary for everything that is related to electronic documents, the developers thought it was a good idea to implement a naming feature, which would allow users to rename about every noun used in the interface.

This seemed like a great idea, since these developers neglected that most languages, unlike English, have genders and other infections for nouns and adverbs. In English, these adverbs do not have an inflection depending on the “gender” of a noun. For example, in English, whatever you are talking about, the word “new” is the same.

For example, in Dutch, “a new archive” is “een nieuw archief” while a new record is “een nieuwe record”. In Dutch, the words for archive and record have different genders, meaning that the preceding adverb is inflected.

The entire program was filled with strings along the lines of “new%s”, on the assumption that “new” could be replaced easily, no matter what word “%s” represented.

All strings using this method had to be rewritten. Imagine the cost!

Differing keyboards

Keyboards in other countries also differ from the US or English keyboard. Avoid using punctuation character keys as shortcut keys, because they are not always found on other-language keyboards.

Some commands in an application have keyboard shortcuts or “accelerators”. For example, the standard accelerator for the Copy and Paste commands in MS Windows are Ctrl C and Ctrl V respectively. Other accelerators can be F5, Alt F8, or Ctrl P. Quite often accelerator mnemonics are chosen according to corresponding menu commands, for example, Crtl S for Save, Ctrl P for Print, etc. In languages other than English they may be changed to keep them mnemonic, for example, from Ctrl P to Strg D (in German). But the decision should be made in each case individually.

These keyboard shortcuts are in many cases assigned on a mnemonic basis – Ctrl P for Print, notably. However, this is different in other languiages – in German, for example, the shortcut for print is Strg D.

If a menu lists shortcuts, then this menu command should have corresponding text which also will need to be translated. For instance, Copy: Ctrl C. If any changes are made in the shortcut table, these should also be reflected in the menu definitions.

My experience has allowed me to negotiate salary many many times, and I have been able to realize significant salary gains as a result. I am writing here to outline what I consider a great, quick approach that can help arm you for salary negotiation and get you ready to negotiate a great salary.

What follows here is a great set of introductory strategies, however there are many approaches to salary negotiation. It is very important for those looking for a higher salary to have the full picture. You need to know all the relevant strategies for salary negotiation to be successful. You may be faced with objections and have negotiation hurdles to overcome.

I am going to give you the best possible synopsis of salary negotiation to do’s in this article. It is certainly a vast topic with a lot of nuances.

Lets have a rundown of some of the basic steps.

1) Job market research is crucial in finding out the value of the job you are going to fill. Check out these web sites: salary.com or monster.com or salaryexpert.com for valuable market data research.

2) List all the extras you do at the job which bring value or efficiency to the business. Concentrate on things that you do which are above and beyond the employer’s expectations.

3) Figure out where you stand compared to other personnel in your company. This will take a bit of investigative research on your part. Ask some friends. Lately it seems more acceptable these days to discuss salary. Just be careful not to offend your colleagues.

Sometimes it seems as though there is no end in sight, as gas prices continue to rise and neither the government nor the oil companies seem to be doing much to stop these high gas prices from continuing. In order to save a little bit of money each month, there are several different ways of improving your car’s MPG rating that will help you reduce gas costs overall.

When it is warmer outside, gasoline expands. Gas pumps, however, measure the amount of gas being used by how much volume (i.e. liquid) goes through its pumps. Therefore, if you buy gas only when it is cold outside, you are essentially getting more gasoline for the same amount of money since the gasoline will not have expanded in the heat.

When your tires are low on air, you do more than simply risk using a spare tire – you also decrease your overall MPG by up to 25%. Keep your tires filled with air and you can save countless hundreds of dollars in the long run as well as improve the life of your tires and your car.

Keep your drive speed between 30 and 60 MPH – This is the optimum level for cars. Below 30 miles per hour and your car is receiving a lot of strain while not going at a very fast speed. Over 60 MPH and your engine is working much harder than it needs to for not much more speed. Keeping within the standard 30-60 MPH range can be very effective for gas relief.

One final lesser known method of relief from the high gas prices is a way to run your car on water that has been sweeping the nation. From the idea of Hydrogen technology comes HHO gas – an alternative power source designed to use water (standard H20) to improve the MPG of your non-hybrid engine.

Those that have instituted these water car systems have found significant relief from gas prices, often reporting up to triple their car’s previous MPG rating. This results in a great deal of savings, often in the thousands, per year. And the best part about this water car engine is that it can be created by anyone with access to a hardware supply store.

This HHO technology works by providing an electrical charge to tap water that you can get from your sink and turning it into a hydrogen particle that your car uses as fuel. In a way, you are adding an alternative energy source to your car without having to purchase a new automobile, thus making your car significantly more energy efficient and saving you money at the pump.

And if you want to run your car on water, you’ll see that it is 100% safe. Hydrogen powered cars, at least those that were temporarily in production for testing purposes, have often been seen as dangerous because of their combustible material.
