Millions of people are flocking in droves to the internet everyday in hopes of finding the right opportunity and to start a home based business. But how do you wade through the thousands of opportunities that are out there?

Before joining any program you should decide what your income goals are. If you need just a little extra cash to ease some stress off your life, you could try typing from home for one of the many companies that hire for that.

If you are a good typist you might make a couple hundred extra dollars a week. But it’s still not the same as starting a business of your own.

People are searching for goods and services or both and thats what a real home business is all about. Make sure that the program you join will meet your income goals. If your goals are very high then a program that only pays small checks of 20 or 30 dollars are probably not going to meet them.

Wouldn’t it be nice to get $900 when someone joins your business, and you also get bonuses of $900? What if the least you could be paid is $300? You could definatly reach your income goals.

One of the most important things you can do is called personal branding. This is where you market yourself and your program. One of the ways to do this is by creating your own capture page.

This is basically a page that when people see your marketing and click your link to find out more, and this is the page they land on. On that page you may have many pieces of information so they can find out more about you and your opportunity.

I know it sounds complicated, but it’s really simple. Anyone can do it; you just have to have a little support when you need it. This brings me to the most important thing about starting a home business.

You MUST have full training and support from the company. Raise your hand if you have joined a program that said all you have to do is join and you are on your way to making money, and then nothing happened. I’m raising mine!

I have been there to. I consider it an expensive learning experience. Then I found a business that was started by someone with over 30 years of marketing experience. What do you think he spends 5 days a week doing? He runs live training for us so we can be successful. And there is no cost for this!

No, viral marketing isn’t like a computer virus, but it is a marketing tactic that spreads like a virus from person to person. Catch the drift? This is powerful marketing at its best, and Web 2.0 is the hot breeding ground.

It is otherwise known as “buzz marketing,” but viral marketing just refers to any trick or strategy to establish buzz, while getting other individuals to market you product or service for you. This is all done with no extra effort on your behalf. This can be extremely effective for real estate professionals like investors, realtors, agents, brokers and it’s very lucrative.

Take for example sending an email, bulletin, or message concerning a thought about real estate to about 100 people, and having 15% of the recipients pass it on to 100 people and 15% of those folks do the same, etc. Do you see how this pyramid effect extends to hundreds of thousands of people?

This is the very genius behind viral marketing. It’s about getting your message out to exponentially more people than you ever could have by conventional means. It seems sneaky, but you can basically target prospects that will then be converted to your message and begin to promote it.

The key way of doing this is by tapping into the massive popularity of online games, videos, graphics, and the like on social media powerhouse sites like MySpace to create a huge base of online friends and members.

Take advantage of this viral approach when you send out any messages, bulletins, comments and blogs into the market. On the reverse, it’s good to have a profile that will draw a massive friends list, and accomplish this in minimal time. From there, you can then market softly to the friends you’ve acquired.

In today?s multimedia, multi-communication world, the need is increasing to have a broadband connection. More and more people are surfing the Net, living and breathing on emails, receiving and sending faxes through this virtual network, managing their family?s memories on digital albums, listening to and streaming music, and even downloading their favorite TV shows for their daily pleasure.

Many of us are interfacing through websites like Facebook, YouTube and MySpace, and rely so much on Internet connectivity that having a fast and reliable ?gateway? to the World Wide Web is a necessity. Ten years ago, there was no such thing as a blog, but these days, more people read blogs than they read the local paper!

Imagine going back several years to the days of slow dialup service. Turning on the computer alone would take a good 5 minutes. Finding an access number to dial into that was not busy and actually stayed connected could be another 15 minutes depending on the time of day.

As content increases to migrate online, people are realizing that they need more bandwidth. Many of us ?connected? people know that broadband (which includes Cable, DSL, and FIOS) is an easy choice over dial-up modems.

But while broadband may be a staple in most metro areas, much of the country has yet to adopt. Like most paradigm shifts, it will take some time for everyone to convert. And many people stuck in rural America simply don’t have access yet.

People postpone their purchase decisions as they wait for others to try out the services, or for a decline in prices, or for the government to come up with a uniform standard for such services (like in the case of the FCC requiring that all TV signals be beamed in digital format). Broadband connections would become ubiquitous once we take to it like we did in the case of inventions like the television and VHS.
