For the first few I did what just about everyone in a home business opportunity does. I pretended to be running a business. I was super organized and sat in on every training seminar. Spent a lot of time memorizing the business, and spent a lot of money.

I had all I was suppose to do completed. I was not going to fail. But the money didn’t come in like it was suppose to. Every network marketer does this same thing when they start out. They spend way to much money-time in the infrastructure their going to use to make a bazillion sales.

The best equipment in the office, from phone to fax, to brochures and information mail outs. Sizzle cards, the 800 numbers and so on. They waste nothing but energy on those things without even a first sale, and that’s what really matters the most.

Those who think when joining a home business opportunity that getting organized at first is the key to success, are more than likely going to fail. When you market and sell first before you organize, you will be more successful because you realized the right order to start with.

Unfortunately, many people are scared of the idea of marketing or selling. It conjures up images of arm-twisting and manipulation, followed by rejection. Selling can be the most rewarding process in the world when both sides feel like they’ve come out winners.

What really works for me and hasn’t failed me to this day is, the pull approach. You position yourself as the expert so you can be of value, instead of the pushy peddler. No one likes the pushy peddler anyway.

Do you have problems breaking down large programming tasks into something you can work with? A few simple tricks will help you get going.

3. Now re-read your outline and compare it to the programming task you have been asked to do. Does it meet the requirements? Have you left anything out? If you are satisfied with the outline proceed to the next step.

4. Look at your outline. Are the items in your outline still pretty vague or general ( Open file could mean several things) Take this time to break down the items in your outline, so Open file would become: Select existing text file, open text file for reading. The goal here is to have one line in your outline for each action the code should do.

5. Take a look at the outline to see if there are multiple lines doing the same thing. These are good candidates for functions in object-oriented languages.

6. Finally, for each line of comment in your outline, write the code underneath it to actually do what your comment says. This way you can tackle any problem and have the comments to tell you what it’s doing ahead of time!
