Those days are gone when an employee used to stick with a company until his or her retirement. On an average, the maximum time an executive spends with a company is 3 to 4 years. To a high extent most of the companies too have accepted this trend. But that does not mean that an employee can start searching for jobs during office hours.

However, it does not mean that you time (3 or 4 years) should be a factor for you to leave a company. When someone leaves a company, this also puts some negative impacts on the coworkers. Sometimes, people start looking for new jobs just because one of his or her coworker just got a better opportunity or a promotion in another company.

A lot of people believe that, earlier there had never been so many companies or job opportunities in the world. To add to this, today there are different avenues to look for newer jobs. Prospective employers do not depend on traditional staffing method to get fresh blood in their organization. Especially, in executive or higher levels, personal recommendations and professional networks work better to get a new job. People are more into relationship marketing than traditional CV marketing. That does not mean that a good relationship or recommendation is enough to secure a job. You must be qualified enough to get that recommendation.

So how do you prepare yourself for a job shift? The following tips may help you:

1. Before you start a job search try to figure out the exact reasons why you intend to change the present job. If you are not sure about the reasons, there are high chances that you are leaving for a wrong reason.

2. When you have identified the problem, try to figure out if there is any solution in that company. Here I would like to mention one point, people do not normally leave companies – they leave their boss. At the same time, your boss is not always wrong. However, if this is your problem, try to figure out a solution – you can also try to shift to another group. And if he is the only one to report, you can think about a change.

3. When you are sure that you want to leave, pull yourself together. Finish your pending tasks (your reputation as a good employee would follow you wherever you go) before you move out to find a job.

4. While searching for jobs, be sure about what you are actually looking for. If you do not find enough job opening advertisement for that profile, you can contact some staffing company. If you know the company that would best suit your desired profile, you can contact them directly or via your network.

5. Before you serve the notice to your present company, make sure that you know enough about the new company’s work culture, rules etc.

6. Do not commit to join the new company unless you have served the notice period at your present company. This would also help you to maintain a healthy relationship with your present company and at the same time your new company would also be assured about your sense of responsibility.

Setting up the scenery for your model train track layout might not be the most pressing issue you have on your mind when creating your layout, buts its very vital to the looks of your track. It’s also a lot of fun to do and the options are endless with what you want to create. A model train just does not look right without the proper scenery to go along with it.

There are so many different types of scenery options available to the railroading enthusiast. What you but all depends on what type of out come you are looking for. What type of set do you want your train to be on. Desert, coastal, winter time, urban environment. The choice is completely up to you of course. My favorite is farm land. You can get just about any sort of scenery either online or at hobby/model shops in town.

For your first model train scenery I recommend really starting out with something basic and easy to setup quickly, just so you gain some experience and really get a feel for what it’s like to design something like this from scratch. Beginners usually start out with something as simple as all grass and maybe a few animals.

You can start out with houses, tree’s, stations, people you name it. I highly recommend that you keep it basic and then expand from there, but that’s only my humble opinion.

The only real thing stopping you from buying loads of scenery is your budget and of course the size of the dwelling and space you have your train track laid out in. Size is always a problem. You don’t want your scene to feel crowded with objects that don’t really need to be there. Try and think like a realistic situation you might be in on a train and work from there. I find this is the best advice I got when it came to choosing scenery. Be realistic!

I know that sounds boring but it makes a big difference. Too many objects just looks like clutter and that you are trying to hard to make it look busy. Remember, scenery is the back drop to the bigger item, your train! Don’t take away from the brilliance of your train and the hard work you have done to get it up and running.

If you are on tight budget and you are kind of artsy. There is nothing stopping you from creating your own scenery now is there? This is not my favorite option how ever, but thats because I lack the time and the skill to do something like that. Mine would look terrible, I am not artistic at all. A blank canvas or a track without scenery would look better then what I could do, so I leave it to the pro’s.

When buying scenery make sure it is of high quality. Poor quality scenery will really let down your whole project and give it a cheap and rushed look that you really don’t want to have at all. Make sure the trees you buy are quality trees. I know that sounds silly, but it’s vital aspect of having a good back drop to your track layout.

Building as well should be of high quality and very detailed. Make sure everything you buy how ever make sense to your surroundings. There is no use in putting a farmers cottage in an urban train scene now is there. You also don’t have to buy everything at once. I don’t know many professionals that do actually.

I buy small bits here and there as to make sure I don’t waste money and buy things I really don’t need at all. Plus I like the excitement of waiting and then being able to put a new piece in.

Some of the professional model railroaders take years to complete just one project. They get every little detail just right and they are happy to wait and see the final product. It really is not about how quickly you finish when it comes to this. It’s about enjoying the journey that you are on.

People have been asking me lately if they should invest in the Philippine stock market or not. Majority of them also wanted to know how they should start. I am not sure if they are really serious about it. They could just be curious considering that it is all over the news that the stock market’s performance is very positive.

The fainthearted has no business investing in the Philippine stock market or the stock market in general. A true investor always has expectations as to how much he will earn from a certain investment. Normally this is measured in terms of how much money will grow at a given time. (This is commonly known as interest per annum) Now that the Philippine Stock market is in its highest level for some time now, people think that they should get themselves involved. Sad to say most do not even have a grasp of the basic principles involved neither do they understand how the system works. This is not to imply that you have to be an economist before you should consider investing.

The point I am making is that you should understand the basic principles first before you will be successful in the stock market. It is true that fortunes are made on the Stock market, however there are also stories of people loosing a large amount of their money. Other who just dive into the stock market without knowing the basic principles of investment quit after some time, telling themselves that the stock market does make any money for anybody.

Before discussing the details on how to invest in the Philippine stock market we must first have a good grasp on the basic principles of investment in order that we might possibly succeed and enjoy trading. I reiterate that each vehicle of investment has its own advantages and disadvantages. I did not to place all of my eggs in one basket. Most of my investments are in the Capital Markets though. This includes bonds through mutual funds, the stock market, insurance, pension and deposits.

I talk to a lot of chiropractors every year at each of the many seminars I speak at around the country. I find that every year these chiropractors come to me with the same complaints about practice management consultants. These poor DC’s are spending horrible amounts of money and still see their businesses hit rock bottom. Are all practice management firms a scam? Honestly, most of them are. They’re sucking many chiropractors dry with their old cookie-cutter tactics that they’ve been using for over 30 years. They have no interest in changing their ways, and every interest in taking your money.

There’s nothing wrong with paying for an expensive program when it yields results that make the payment worth wile. The price of a service should be comparable to the benefit that someone receives from the service. Only in a perfect world is this true, because there are chiropractic consultants out there charging an arm and a leg for no results. There are managers and consultants out there that do give equally to what they receive, but they’re few and far between. Most of the time, what you get is a load of bull and fear-mongering. It’s the classic tactic of scaring you into using their services. It’s marketing at its worst. So how do we expect these people in turn to market our chiropractic businesses?

When you’re looking for a truly great chiropractic consultant or practice management group, you have to make sure they specialize in what you need. When a group claims to be able to solve everything, they aren’t specialized enough to fix your problems. They’re bandaging your leg, but it’s your arm that’s broken. Catch my drift?

One of the biggest things to check for when you’re finding a consultant that’s right for you is whether they have verifiable testimonials. Do they have real people who are satisfied with the results they’ve had with that consultant? Make sure these aren’t scripted testimonials, and that those smiling faces on the promo videos aren’t just paid actors.

I recommend doing an in-depth Google search to find accurate information. For instance, if you were looking for a consultant that just specialized in strategic and proven Web 2.0 and Social Media marketing for chiropractors, you would put the keywords “social media chiropractic marketing” or “internet chiropractic marketing” in quotation marks. This will bring you back highly-targeted information you are looking for, making your life much easier.
