Car Sales Training: Sell Like You are The Customer

Have you ever tried to sell cars from the customer’s point of view? Think about it for a moment. When you go into the store to purchase an item, how does the salesperson treat you? Are they there to work for you or are they there to simply make the sale? The way you want to be treated by a knowledgeable salesperson that can make recommendation based on what you need and want is the type of salesperson we all look for.

With that in mind, ask yourself if you are selling a car to a customer based on their perspective as the buyer and not as the seller. If you answered no to that statement, then you need to think about your current selling strategy and put it into perspective. If you sell a car to someone by being the customer, you will be able to look at everything from their point of view and get a better understanding of their needs and wants.

How?

Let’s take a look at the four steps most customers – including yourself – take when they go to buy an item.

Step 1: The relationship between the salesperson and the customer must be established.
This is not optional. You must build up a rapport with your customer before you can sell them a vehicle. If the relationship is a strong one with trust developed through conversation, then you will sell them the car that they need and want and not one that will not meet their needs.

Step 2: Look at the sales possibilities.
As an auto salesperson, you have to determine whether or not there is even a possibility of the customer understanding enough about the automotive business to make a decision to proceed with the sale. Can you adequately help them understand how the sales process works? Can you help them get into the vehicle they want? Are you listening to their needs? If you’re not listening, they are going to go somewhere else.

Step 3: As a car salesperson you now need to decide from the customer’s point of view whether or not they think buying a car from you is a good opportunity.
They are weighing the pros and cons of buying a car with the biggest consideration being price. Talk to them about what they thinking, how they are feeling. Listen to their concerns before putting any form of offer on the table that may alleviate some of the concerns they have. You’d want a salesperson to do the same for you.

Step 4: Give the customer time to decide on the course of action that is right for them. Don’t be pushy. They will come to you with their final answer.

Plan Before Building A Web Site

Anyone can create a website these days. Someone with just a small idea in their brain, can look towards the world wide web as an avenue to make a personal website and vent whatever is on their mind. With all the free web hosting sites available, why not have strongly held opinions out for the world to see. Typing in “my homepage” into a search engine will yield over 7 million pages complete with animated GIFs to view. Most of these sites will rarely get more than a hundred hits in their lifetime.

What these novice site designers fail to realize is they are not writers. Rather they write like they are talking with a friend. Well written content should flow like a book or novel, not as if they are in the midst of a conversation. So if this is what they enjoy, is it bad?

The answer is, yes. With the overused WYSISYG HTML editor at their disposal, they create their own webpage. It has become extremely easy and there is nothing out there to stop these attempts at creating personal pages. The vastly used templates are equipped with a subliminal reflex to close the window immediately.

Businesses also have begun to create pages that really serve no purpose. Although they have the resources, many times they miss the point. Businesses try to sell goods and services to people passing by their sight, who actually have no interest in buying whatsoever. Its just a meager attempt at getting a piece of the pie.

Then those that have the point, but lack the resources. Web design is hard work, especially in a largely information driven society. A poor choice here or there and the site is painful to use. Navigation is awkward. The color scheme burns fatigue into their eyes in minutes as they try to make things flashier and flashier and miss the simplicity that a site should have.

Although some may have an interesting topic or service, chances are they are going to be joining an array of others with the same idea and with already created web content. They move forward and are rarely heard from again. Usually these fail due to lack of planning and ambition to see the project through. Having some type of barrier, will benefit business people by weeding out those who are not ready to take on this endeavor.

Many webpage designing beginners only see the outer part of the task at hand. They fail to see what exactly is involved such as writing, coding, generating advertising, coming up with a good concept and having the will to see the project come to fruition. Sites may take a very long time to complete and if people quit, we are left with just a bunch of random, wasted space on the Internet.

Pictures of their dog. A few rantings. A worthless service. And never have anyone to truly use it. If the conditions to create a proper site cannot be done and the endeavor amount to naught but worthlessly scattered electrons, one should never begin typing the HEAD tag.

The pros and cons of CCTV

Close-circuit television or CCTV is the technology which transmits videos from mounted cameras to remote monitors, commonly for security and safety reasons. The transmission can take place either through cables connecting the video camera to the monitors or through wireless connection.

Developed originally in Germany in 1942 to observe the V2-rocket launch by German engineer Walter Bruch, the CCTV system was installed in main business streets to prevent crimes. Banks and stores followed suit, to monitor the activities within the establishment and as a record of evidence of criminal activity. Today, CCTV systems are available for a private individual to install for the security of their homes and properties.

The system works by installing video cameras, which often tilts and pans the room, in strategic places that can give a wide view of the location. These video cameras transmit and record these images to a remote monitor or set of monitors usually observed by security personnel.

CCTV video cameras are installed in many public locations. In banks, airports, subways, stores and malls, police and military facilities and even in the streets. These highly-crowded locations are hotspots for crimes like theft, terrorism and other acts of violence. Studies reveal that a criminal is less likely to commit personal crimes such as physical assault within the view or proximity of a camera. The fact that the suspect’s details can be recorded in the cameras and can be used to warrant his arrest can greatly deter someone from committing an offense.

While the question remains whether CCTV can actually reduce crimes, it has provided help in detecting criminals caught in the act. The video recordings of the CCTV installed in shops can provide identification to shop-lifters and burglars or clues to crimes done within the vicinity. Other than monitoring criminal acts, the surveillance systems are also being used to combat anti-social behaviours which include minor offenses such as littering, drunkenness, traffic violations, urinating in public and other public order offenses.

Although most linked with surveillance and security, there are other uses of CCTV. Electron microscopy, medical imaging and robotics are few other applications of this technology. Live on-site video footages for conferences, concerts and sporting events such as boxing and wrestling are also an application of the CCTV system, as these transmissions are broadcasted to small and specific areas.

The CCTV systems have various types. Some cameras capture only images, while some can record sounds as well. The type of CCTV camera for a particular business depends on its main usage. If the main purpose is for surveillance or traffic control, it is not required to have coloured cameras; black and white images have better resolution. However, if the main purpose of the CCTV system is criminal identification and deterrence, a coloured system is essential.

A CCTV system can offer a sense of peace and safety to the everyday citizen; the awareness that criminals and terrorists are unlikely to commit violent acts when there are cameras around help calm people’s minds.

Lessening crime rates and bringing peace of mind to citizens only shows how valuable CCTV systems are these modern times.
