Think Cooperation, Not Competition

by William Blake

There are those of us in this world that are competitive by nature. We are even competitive about being competitive. We are always thinking in terms of ‘winning’ or ‘losing’.

There really isn’t one thing wrong with wanting to win a competition. The trick is telling the difference between a competitive event and an event where the prize is gained by cooperation rather than through competition.

You see, when you are engaging in a competition, there is always a goal or a finish line. If you are playing a game of chess, for example, the object is to ‘check-mate’, if you are playing football the object is to get more points than the over team in a limited amount of time. Internet marketing, however, does not come with a finish line. There is no time limit and the game is never over.

Internet marketing is at its optimum when it works to research, test, share and act on new ways to do internet marketing better. It works best when working within a community to better itself. Competitive attitudes get in the way and progress is much faster through cooperation.

Everyone contributes to the development of internet marketing since there is a huge benefit to the community as a whole, and your customers are better able to do the things they want, resulting in more profits all round.

If you are a competitive person you will want to compete to supply more leads, put together more joint ventures, help more people than your competitors.

There is only one way in which competition can help internet marketing, and that is by competing in terms of how cooperative you are compared to your competitor.

There are more than enough customers out there for all of us. When one of us benefits, the rest will experience that benefit as cooperation spreads the word on the latest innovations within the industry.

Leading on from this is my next point. Stop blaming the Guru’s..

There are a huge number of people out there who always have an excuse for their failures. In most cases they will tell you that their failure was not their fault, and caused by someone else.

When they relate their stories one common thread starts to shine through. They were the victims in their failed business. It wasn’t their fault that their business failed, they didn’t do anything wrong, etc, etc. It’s dangerous to believe them purely because it’s wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. We all hold success and failure in our hands, and we actively choose one or the other via the decisions we choose to make.

Businesses fail, that’s a fact of life, but the reasons they fail cannot be laid at the feet of others. I’ve heard internet entrepreneurs blame the failure of their internet businesses on someone they scornfully call an ‘Internet Guru’.

According to these people, an ‘Internet Guru’ sold them products they didn’t need, flooded their email inbox with so many emails that they couldn’t get any work done and just generally led them down the wrong path and made their business fail.

The thing is that when any successful internet marketer (‘guru’) offers products to his list, he isn’t forcing anyone to take up his offer. He is merely offering the product, and highlighting the benefits. Each customer makes a choice about whether to purchase the product or not.

These are merely offers of products that these successful internet marketers feel are worthy enough to be offered to their lists. The offer doesn’t mean that the product will necessarily help each and every person on those long and impressive mailing lists.

Each internet entrepreneur is responsible for their own success as well as for their own failure if it comes to that. Everybody should know their own business well enough to determine whether a product offered would be truly helpful or not and when advice is given, it is just that, ADVICE.

It isn’t an order that you must follow…it is only a suggestion. The decisions about your business are always up to you and you alone.

Finding the Best Laptop Computer

by Ada Denis

If you are in the market, then you’ll want to find the best laptop computer for you. Note that last phrase “for you” because it is a critical part of the purchase process. Too often people interpret “best” in the wrong way – most expensive, slickest, fastest, or state-of-the-art bleeding edge technology. The best notebook computers are tools that meet your own needs without unneeded features or expenses. So begin at the beginning.

First, you need to consider your budget. The best laptop computer for a college student is unlikely to be in the same price range as a machine that a graphics designer needs. Most people probably overestimate their needs and end up either paying too much or paying for the wrong features. Before you start narrowing things down, settle on your budget. A college student probably doesn’t need to spend a small fortune on top of their other expenses. You should also be sure you truly need a laptop and, if so, whether it will be your only machine. If most of your work will be done on a desk top machine and you only need a laptop when traveling, you should be able to keep your costs down. But, if it’s going to be the machine you do everything on, you will likely have to spend more.

The only real advantage to a notebook computer is that they are portable. They are more expensive than desktop systems to begin with and they are also harder (and more expensive) to repair or upgrade. For a college student they can be essential if you need to carry one to class and take it with you on vacations or trips home. If you work in multiple locations without desktop systems in each, you also need a laptop. If you travel and need a computer on your trips, you sure don’t want to lug a desktop with you. Weight can be an issue to consider if you plan to do a lot of carrying. But there can be a trade-off – lightweight often means a smaller screen and keyboard and shorter battery life.

In terms of budget you do have some choices you may not have thought of that can reduce your cost or get you more machine than you expected. Discontinued models, older models, and factory reconditioned notebook computers are often available at substantial discounts. Last year’s best notebook computers are often this year’s best deal. If you do look at reconditioned machines make sure they were reconditioned by the manufacturer and come with the same warranty a new machine has. I’ve used the same factory reconditioned notebook daily for close to 5 years – it was an incredibly good deal so keep the possibility in mind.

Now you need to analyze what you are going to use your laptop for: will you be doing a lot of intensive data applications or graphics applications; do you need it to play high end games; will you be using in places or in ways that may require a ruggedized system; will you just be primarily writing documents, using the internet and doing email; do you need wireless connectivity; what external devices might you connect and what kind of connectors do they need; do you need to be able to write DVDs/CDs or just read them. You may also want to consider whether how the laptop looks is important. That may seem superficial, but under certain circumstances such as high level business meetings, style could be an important feature of your best laptop computer.

The more complex and intense the applications are that you will be using, the faster a CPU and the more RAM and hard disk space you may need. Operating systems and programs are using more and more CPU, memory and disk space all the time so this is not a trivial issue. These days I’d suggest that a minimum configuration should include at least a 1.5 GHz CPU, 1 Gigabyte of RAM and a 60 Gigabyte disk drive. A DVD/CD reader is a minimum and most people will probably want the ability to also write DVDs and CDs.

Before you actually start looking, use paper and a pen, go over your needs and requirements and write them down. Essentially you want to create a checklist to compare to the features of models that interest you. Once you get started, keep your budget firmly in mind. Often you’ll find the best price for your personal best laptop computer online. If you can, before you actually buy, find the same model in an offline store and check the screen size, the keyboard and how the weight feels to you. Weight may be less important but you may also be carrying other accessories. The screen and keyboard are critical components for comfortably using your computer. Don’t settle for a screen that’s too small or a keyboard that feels cheap or clumsy. Take the time and put in the effort to make sure you end up with the model that suits you best.

Manage Your Money To Create Wealth

by Jarkeith Hamilton

How good are you at managing your money? Believe it or not there are many of us today who have very bad habits when it comes to money management. Only now with the economy in a crisis has it become important to pay closer attention to the way we manage our money.

Everyone in some way or form is suffering from the downfall of the economy but none will suffer more than the poor and the middle class. It is more important for those particular classes of people to learn and implement good money management practices than the rich or the wealthy. For the rich and wealthy, even if they lose money they will still be able to support themselves unlike the middle and poor class with whom the loss of money could be detrimental.

Money management lies with the individual and fault cannot be placed upon someone else. Yes there are the politicians or those others sitting in a political office that people would like to blame, but in the area of one’s own personal financial assets they cannot be held at fault. Whether you are a person finding times hard now or would just like to improve your own financial state learning proper money management here and now will benefit you for years to come.

The subject of money management can cover a broad spectrum since there are many various techniques that can be used to achieve the desired outcome. That outcome is allowing your money to work for you and not against you. More and more people are turning to the internet and using it as a variable means of managing money by using it to make money; these individuals are making hundreds of dollars daily with simple and easy online businesses.

So how does this relate to money management? What is money management? Your ability to manage your money or assets to the point that it benefits you is money management. If you ask most about a method to make more money with your own money they would most likely suggest the stock market, or some kind of savings plan.

While the more traditional methods of money management such as a Savings or IRA’s can and do make you money, you have to wait years until you can capitalize on that investment. Internet businesses are different in that you can make a lot of money now, and still be making a lot of money years from now, all while still having your Savings or IRA’s.

Other reasons people are searching the internet for an online business opportunity is because with one simple investment you can continue to reap the rewards for years to come. Imagine being afforded the opportunity to retire yourself within five years, or more importantly have more time at home. With a successful online business not only can you secure yourself financially buy you can have a sense of accomplishment that others may envy.

I’m not at all saying that you should or should not delve into stocks, I’m only pointing out the fact that there are options out there for us all that can assist us in these troublesome times. Regardless of the route you take be wise during these times and properly manage your money to achieve your own success.

Follow Up Emails Can Increase Your Home Business Profits By 1000%

by Joe Okoro

All kinds of ideas and people in almost every area of life are on the Internet. Countless webmasters present information to numerous people daily.

Inboxes of people are at all times bombarded with scores of emails and sometimes it becomes problematic to remember who you demand information from.

Whatever business you are in, try to develop or apply an autoresponder to take your business to greater heights.

This is because a lot of people ask questions online by entering their names and e-mail addresses to web forms online, if you therefore operate an all-inclusive structure that does automatic follow up through sending out the initial email, the fellow making enquiries will immediately recognize at what time he made his enquiries from you.

You need to set your autoresponder to instantly send follow up when the initial message comes in. You should also inform the visitor to white list your email to ensure that your message gets into his inbox directly.

Please let prospects be aware that they will be getting information and details from you from time to time.

If you don’t do this without delay, the prospect may overlook your email and take it to be spam whenever he receives a message from your email address later.

When follow ups are done, it helps the subscriber to remember where the message is coming from. Over time, he learns to trust you depending on the value of information you have been providing over the course of his subscription to your newsletter.

MLM Forums, What is Their Use?

by Joe Okoro

Forums are a great way to build your home based business. Below are some of the things you gain when you engage in forum marketing.

– Extra patronage

Please note that people are only willing to pay for products only from experts. It is possible to turn yourself into one if you have resolved to do so and strive to set aside just 2 months into whatever forum, practicing all I have taught in past articles on the issue.

– You are tracked down by the search engine.

Since you have made a lot of posts online that has to do with various matters in your market, replies to enquiries posed by members of the forum are displaced by the search engine.

The benefit of this is that strangers to that forum receive your guidance and conduct a search on your profile producing for you more business.

I have enumerated below the things you need to identify when prospecting for a good forum to take part in.

– The List Capacity

For me, I am not fascinated in any forum in my area that is not up to 5,000 persons as I would not acquire the kind of traffic I want to achieve, whatever it is, you can establish your own minimum.

– At least 3 – 5 forums.

If you decide to promote your business using forums, your aim should be to participate regularly with a total of 3 – 5 forums between 15,000 – 100,000 people in total population.

In such a situation, your message and posts will develop relationship with quite a number of persons at the same time.

What Exactly Does It Do – Lead Evolution Review

by Zeze Mensah

Internet marketing is a very hot topic. There are those who are good at it, and then there are those who…well let’s just say need a little help here and there. But one thing is certain, no matter what product you have or what service you offer you definately need traffic to be successful.

This mindset is what compelled Brian and Dr.Mike to develop the Lead Evolution software. What Lead Evolution does is it pulls highly targeted leads right off the internet and sends them your way.

Traditionally, internet marketers and other companies needed to build a squeeze page or a gateway page and work hard to drive massive amounts of traffic to it in the hope of capturing their visitors’ data. Now, we all know how tricky capturing your visitor’s data can be. What Lead Evolution does is rather than taking the traditional approach it does the opposite. Whereas before, you needed your leads or website visitors to find you, now you actually find them with Lead Evolution making even list building extremely easy for anybody.

Truth is, countless people are online everyday looking for a specific product or a particular service. Just imagine, a customer goes online and types in “looking for 50″ plasma t.v.” or “wanting a work at home opportunity.” Lead Evolution searches the web and pulls up customers and connects them instantly with you, the person who has exactly what they want. Moreover, there are no spam complaints because you are providing them with exactly what they need-and my oh my, people love that.

Lead Evolution targets these leads and gives them to you. Almost always, these leads are up to the minute fresh highly responsive leads. Customers love it when what they are searching for finds them. So what are the specs? Lead Evolution allows you to create targeted campaigns. Next, you would choose how many lead sources you would like Lead Evolution to search. This can range from very broad to very specific.

The next step is to enter the category(s) that you would like to search. For example, let’s say I am in cash gifting and I am looking for people who are interested in joining cash gifting. I would then select the category for opportunity seekers and within a matter of moments have their contacts in front of me and I can email them with one click. Stupendiously cuts down advertising time!

Next you would highlight which location(s) you would like your search in. If you are a Boston resident and you would like to see all the houses that need to be sold in Boston you can specify your search for this specific location. As well, You can also search all locations.

Lastly, you would click find. The results generated by Lead Evolution are massive. And the time it takes this software to find these leads are shockingly fast. I once did a search for customers who needed articles written and found over 2000 leads in 15 seconds. You then have the option to either save these leads to an excel file or reply to all leads with the click of a button.

So is it worth it? Most definately, I think Lead Evolution is the future of internet marketing.

5 Easy Steps To Get An Ideal Career

by Ada Denis

Career change or frequent job changes once bore a negative stigma and raised a red flag to alert prospective employers. No more. According to Department of Labor Statistics, the average person will change career somewhere between four to six times in their lifetime. Additionally, they will make an average of twelve to fifteen job changes.

The red flag has been lowered and these frequent changes now tell prospective employers that the applicant with a variety of careers and jobs exhibits flexibility in the workplace – and that is highly desired. So, if you are contemplating a mid career change, now is the time to take action.

Assess Your Current Position

Take a look at your current position, both professionally and personally. Are you stuck in a rut? Do you feel stifled or held back? Do you feel as if you are going nowhere? A career switch may be in order. If you feel that you are not adequately utilizing your existing skills or that you may have hit a professional plateau, it may be time to think about a new career plan.

Evaluate Your Career Change Options

Think about not only what you can do but also what you like to do. If you are going to make a job change, salary and benefits may be a factor in determining the route you should take, but that should not be the only reason that you make the move. It is important to find a career that you will actually enjoy. Statistics show that people who work in a job that they enjoy are healthier and experience fewer stress related illnesses. You should also take a look at the knowledge, skills and abilities that your prospective career requires. Do some research on your chosen career. Your state’s department of labor is a good resource for finding profiles on various careers.

Determine Your Transferable Skills

Once you have taken a good look at your new career, determine what transferable skills you have that you can bring to the table. Transferable skills are those skills that you can bring from one job position to another. When you are pursuing a new career, it is important that you can identify your own transferable skills. This can be very useful in when and how you make your move.

Establish the Educational Track You Need To Take

Depending on the career move that you are making, it may be necessary for you to get some training. With the boom of online schools that allow professionals to take courses online, on their own time, getting an education to boost your career change is now easier than ever. If the online route isn’t your thing, though, you can also take classes at your local university or community college. There are also technical schools that offer courses in many different careers. You should also note that non traditional students — students who are older than 24 years old — are a rapidly growing population on college campuses throughout the United States.

Get Help If You Need It

As you embark on your ideal career, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Find a mentor or life coach who can help you take a good look at yourself and your life, your profession and your goals. They can help to guide you and make your transition from your current career to a new career much smoother. You can find a life coach or if you know someone who is already in the field that you want to enter you can ask them for help. If you are attending school, you can talk to a career counselor there. The point is, if you need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it.

How to make a fortune in real estate?

by Peter Vekselman

Why You Want Bird Dogs Finding You Deals Whether you’re a novice real estate investor or you’ve been at it for years, real estate investing is an endless series of challenges. First, you have to locate motivated sellers. Then you have to buy it right, manage it even better, and still find a way to turn a profit. To top it off, you have to try to do all these things while simultaneously juggling the myriad other details of your life while laying the groundwork to become a full-time investor. There just isn’t enough time in the day, is there?

Wouldn’t it be nice if profitable deals would almost magically come to you? Actually, they can. By putting Bird Dogs to work for you there’s more time for you to concentrate your energies on more profitable activities: negotiating with sellers, putting together winning proposals, and moving on to the next deal. In case you’re not familiar with what a bird dog is – or what a bird dog does – they are basically scouts that sniff out deals for you. Their sole job is to locate properties that have motivated sellers and lay the groundwork for you to move in and close the deal. This saves you time for the really profitable aspects of real estate investing. Without motivated sellers you can’t put together real estate deals.

The problem you have is there are only so many hours in the day for you to do everything that needs to be done. If you still have a full-time job working for someone else you have even less time available for your marketing and prospecting efforts. If you assume that marketing – of which locating motivated sellers is a critical part – takes 20%-25% of your time, you can easily see how little time that leaves for the other activities you need to be doing on an on-going basis to reach your goals. By having a bird dog or bird dogs doing these things for you it allows you to better utilize the time resources you have at your disposal.

A good bird dog isn’t born: they’re made. It’s going to take a little effort on your part to help your bird dogs help you. The best way for you to do this is by clearly articulating to them what you need. The good news is that there are plenty of people willing to be bird dogs. They could be friends, family members, or others you come in contact with. You can also work with novice real estate investors through your local REIA to locate properties for you. It’s also relatively easy to put together larger teams of bird dogs by utilizing message boards, Craig’s List, and other online resources. If all else fails you can run a newspaper ad of your own. The main point here is that bird dogs will free up more of your time so you can do those things that have a greater probability of earning you money. Bird dogs can be the path to your real estate investing goals. The finder’s fees you’ll pay your bird dogs for bringing deals to you are more than offset by the value – and the wealth – they’ll generate for you.

Take the time to learn how to work with bird dogs in reaching your investing dreams. As you get better at working with bird dogs you’ll find that you have more time and money for other pursuits – like deciding what to tell your boss when you quit your full-time job and take the plunge into full-time real estate investing. Peter Vekselman has been successfully investing in real estate since 1996. He has completed over 1000 real estate deals, owned a construction company, been a private lender, and owned a property management company. Peter currently works with clients all over the US
