Every once in a while we will cross paths with what I refer to as a customer service superstar. They are like diamonds in the rough. We never know when we will be served by one of these superstars. They are dispersed throughout the marketplace and look normal on the outside. But take a closer look and we will soon discover that these people are a breed apart from your average everyday customer service representative.

Every person in the world will play the role of a customer throughout his or her life. From early on each of us becomes acquainted with being the customer and having others wait on us. No matter where we go, we are always prepared to take on the role of the customer and be served by another person. Look at a typical week and we discover just how much time is spent on being a customer.

There was something distinctively different and attractive in the way that Sara Smith treated others. As an employee, she was a shining example for other co-workers simply because of her friendly personality. People tended to gravitate toward her. This was especially true in her relationships with the many loyal customers that she had won over the years.

When you first begin your business, it can take a lot of time and effort to land your first few clients. As your business develops, you’ll find that securing new clients takes less time; however, it is a lot easier to stay in contact with your current clients and develop long term relationships, than to constantly seek out new clients.

1. Stay in contact with customers on a regular basis. Offer them a free e-zine subscription. Ask customers if they want to be updated by e-mail when you make changes to your Web site. After every sale, follow-up with the customer to see if they are satisfied with their purchase.

If you have a restaurant or you are considering opening one up, there are several issues to take care of. One of them will be the decision to serve alcohol or not. This is a touchy subject though and one that requires a great deal of consideration. First, you need to find out if you can even serve alcohol in that location. This can be determined by your city ordinances.

As the owner of a restaurant you want to offer customers all you can. You want them to enjoy the food as well as the atmosphere. It is very possible to transform the atmosphere of your restaurant for different meals. You will find they really appreciate it and it can help them decide to come in to eat dinner with you instead of only lunch. This is because many people expect more for a dinner meal than they do for their lunch.

What type of appetizers are you offering your customers? If you aren’t offering them at all you may find it is a good way to enhance your restaurant. After all, hungry customers can become irritable. That ten minute wait for their food can seem like forever. If they have an appetizer in front of them though they will be less likely to be keeping track of how long they wait for their entree.
