How To Build A Big Responsive List

Succeeding on the Internet comes down to understanding the basics. You need to pick a good market. You need to find out what they are willing to buy. And you need to use a proven marketing system.

The next step is getting website visitors and getting them to join your list.

Everything comes down to having a big list of responsive people. That’s where the money is. Therefore, building your list should be your number one priority.

Traffic generation and list building are the cornerstones of Internet business success. You need to get people to your website. Then you need to persuade those people to give you their email address. This is how it’s done…

STEP ONE: Adopt the mindset that list building is the focal point of your business. In other words, put all your effort into getting people to opt in to your list. Everything you do should have this single end in mind.

Next, create a “hook” that compels people to join your list. The hook is usually some valuable information product you give away for free. You put up a simple web page promoting that freebie. To get it people have to give you their email address. Fair exchange if you ask me.

Remeber, your primary purpose is to build your list. So, the next thing you must do is promote the lead capture page. Here are a few good ways to drive traffic…

What I rely on to get more website traffic is joint ventures with ezine publishers, ezine ads and targeted articles.

Okay. So let’s tackle article marketing. What you do is write up a simple article that is several hundred words long. No more than about 700 words. Include a resource box with a link to your website. People who click on that link will be taken to your lead capture site.

Submit at least one article per week to the different article directories. You can do a simple search online to find article submission services and software. It’s best to use these instead of trying manual submissions.

Ezine advertising is powerful. In any market a number of ezines (or electronic newsletters) exist. The publishers of these ezines will accept both articles and ads. The ads are either classified or solo emails. Solo emails work better.

Again, ezine ads should be written to drive traffic to your lead capture page. Search online for ezines in your target market. You’ll find plenty of them unless you’re in a really small niche.

Reciprocal joint ventures work very well. You simply contact the ezine publishers you would otherwise advertise with and have them promote your free report to their list. Then you reciprocate by doing the same for them to your list.

Make sure you approach joint venture prospects with a list that if of similar size as yours. If you don’t have any list yet you can still make this work by finding out what you can do for the joint venture partner.

Don’t allow yourself to get sidetracked. On a daily basis, focus your efforts on growing your list. Take some action daily to get people to join your list.
